The Budgie Race

budgierace

The Budgie Race itself is fairly simple.

  • Yellow orbs hug the right-most area of the race path so you’ll never get lost.
  • White Circles are the markers you have to run through to progress the quest. They also give you a slight speed buff.
  • Green Circles are speed buffs. They stack up to 3 times and are also consumed for your reactive ability.
  • Orange Circles are speed debuffs. They snare you and slow you down for 5 seconds.

Note: Be sure to pay attention to your quest objective. Sometimes you might go over a checkpoint but it won’t update. Be sure to backtrack and try to go over it again.

Speed Strategy

Since you may choose to do these quests on a daily basis until the Promo Week is over, you might as well do it fast.

budgieracebuffs

Aim for Green Circles but pay attention to your Endurance stacks. They stack up to a maximum of 3; so just before you hit a 4th, use the reactive “Terminal Velocity” that you get in your temporary ability bar.

Using Terminal Velocity will consume an Endurance stack but give you 5seconds worth of maximum speed.

Also note that if you hit a Megaton Gravity node (the orange circles), you can use Terminal Velocity to remove its effects.

Other Players

Note that the race course is used by all players. As such, the person in front of you may end up taking all the Green Circles before you can take them.

Hope you have found this guide useful, and good luck on getting yourself a Budgie!
If you want a ‘relatively’ quick and no-cost way of getting a Budgie, try for the Vox Budgie mount which you can get for reaching Level 20 in Trove.

I missed this event didn’t I? Is there a way I can still get a budgie?! Urgh I want frostyy

    • May 18, 2014 at 4:26 pm #

You can still get the Frosty and Ashen Budgie Mounts from the PRI Quartermasters. The Tempest Bay one here is always up even if the Budgie Madness Promo Week isn’t.

The Budgie Madness Promo Week (and the other Promo Weeks) occur several times a year so there should be other opportunities to get your Frosty Budgie Mount. They may also be available on the Auction House as I’m pretty sure they are tradeable (the lockbox versions).

There is no NPC with that name in front of Sanc. Its not true event.

Budgie Madness Promo Week occurs at random when Trion decides to hold it. When the event isn’t up, the NPCs will not be visible.
