Currency Reference

Learn all about which currency does what for the Carnival of the Ascended World Event! The event starts on 27th February 2014 at 3:30PM Server Time.

Glass Beads

Glass Beads are a limitless currency that you obtain from planar mobs via planar invasions, rifts, great hunts, raid rifts and zone events. If you don’t receive any glass beads from them, make sure they are at least Green to you by mentoring down to around the mobs’ level.

Prize Tickets

Prize Tickets are a limitless currency that you obtain from participating in Carnival Games located in Sanctum, Meridian, Shimmersand and Tempest Bay. Each Carnival Game has its own Repeatable Quests you can obtain from the various NPCs around the area.

Auroral Doubloons

These are a limited currency that you obtain from participating in the the Carnival of the Ascended. Each Phase of the World Event has a one-time quest that rewards this currency. Phase 1 provides 1; Phase 2 provides 2 leading to a total of 3 Auroral Doubloons obtainable during this event. [r]

Carnival Celebration Crate

Carnival 2014 has a Celebration Crate (lockbox) for 150 Prize Tickets (one of the Carnival currencies) or 400 Credits (360 Patron) each.

They contain an assortment of random Carnival pets, a chance for Dark Ice Essences and Dark Ice Necklaces (the ones from Fae Yule 2013), previous Carnival Mounts, an interactive item, an artifact and a very rare chance at a Knight Spider Mount.

Note: The Companion Pets are tradeable.

Tito’s Trove Artifact Set

There’s an Artifact Set related to the Carnival of the Ascended that rewards 10x consumable versions of Tito’s Partini (which makes players in a large AoE region /dance if you have the Tito Companion Pet out).

Thus far the artifacts can be obtained from the Carnival Celebration Crate. It is unsure at this stage whether you can obtain the artifacts in other ways.

When you have a Tito companion pet out and use the Tito’s Partini consumable, you will be able to get everyone in a decent size radius to /victory. Each one of them will also have blue fireworks shooting out from underneath them.

Knight Spider Mount

There’s also a very rare chance to get a Knight Spider Mount. It looks like a Red/Black version of the Tindrel Mount. You can also get him from completing the “Come On and Jump On My Spider.” achievement found under World Events -> Carnival of the Ascended.

Note: the Companion Pets required as part of the meta achieve are tradeable, so you can check your Auction House to see if they have any of the missing pets.

Dark Ice Necklaces

The Carnival Celebration Crate has a chance at obtaining the Dark Ice Necklaces that available during Fae Yule 2013. Below are images of the necklaces for each class and their upgrades.

They are all upgraded using a Radiant Infinity Cell and a necklace drop from the Level 60 Tier 1 10-man Raid Intrepid: Drowned Halls.

The Carnival Celebration Crate has a chance at obtaining the Dark Ice Essences that were available during Fae Yule 2013. Below are images of the essences for each class.

Level 60 Relic Essences

There are new Carnival Level 60 “Enigmatic” Essences for each class  available at Rift Store -> World Event for 1,536 Glass Beads and 12,000 Planarite or 1,280 Credits (1,152 for Patron).

Interestingly they don’t have a Secondary Stat, but some of them may still prove useful – especially to those without BiS Greater Essences, Dark Ice Essences or Venerated Notoriety. That said, the Radiant Infinity Cell requirement is costly and you may be better off using a Radiant Infinity Cell on the new Fire Raid Rift Essences.

Upgrade Materials

Empyreal Hero’s Large Cell

The Empyreal Hero’s Large Cells cost 11,850 Infinity Stones (Level 60 open-world currency) or 2,130 Credits (1,917 for Patron) each. Found under Rift Store -> Equipment -> Upgrade Parts.

Ephemeral Element

Ephemeral Element is crafted by the Mining Profession. The recipe has a 20-hr cool-down between crafts.

Radiant Infinity Cell

The Radiant Infinity Cell is a Tier 1 Raid and Myrmidon PvP Relic upgrade piece. It is currently obtainable from:

• Defeating Crucia in Frozen Tempest or Regulos in Endless Eclipse (Tier 1 20-man Raids);
• Defeating Hard-mode bosses in Tier 1 20-man Raids;
• Rare chance from Conquest Chest which is interactable by the winning faction of a Conquest match. The Conquest Chest appears in the Eye of Regulos after the 5min timer;
• Rare chance from the Freelancer Equipment Cache rewarded for the Weekly Warfront Quest obtainable at Tempest Bay;
• Rare chance from certain Lockboxes.

Level 60 +130 HIT Weapons

There are new Carnival Level 60 Weapons for both DPS/Heals and Tanks for each class  available at Rift Store -> World Event for 1,392 Glass Beads or 1,160 Credits (1,044 for Patron).

They have multiple upgrades, going from +40 HIT to +65 HIT (Tier 1 level).

1-hander DPS

• 11 Empyreal Vanquisher’s Large Cells and 6 Ephemeral Elements fully upgraded.
• That’s 93,060 Infinity Stones + 12 Ephemeral Elements fully upgraded.

2-hander DPS

• 22 Empyreal Vanquisher’s Large Cells and 12 Ephemeral Elements fully upgraded.
• That’s 186,120 Infinity Stones + 12 Ephemeral Elements fully upgraded.

Mage DPS Weapon

Mages get their own special category because for some reason they require Majestic Materials for their DPS weapon whereas the other classes’ DPS weapons use Ephemeral Element.

• 22 Empyreal Vanquisher’s Large Cells and 12 Majestic Materials fully upgraded.
• That’s 186,120 Infinity Stones + 12 Majestic Materials fully upgraded.

Tank Weapon

Tanks use Majestic Material.

• 11x Empyreal Vanquisher’s Large Cells and 6 Majestic Materials fully upgraded.
• That’s 93,060 Infinity Stones + 6 Majestic Materials fully upgraded.

Upgrade Materials

The Empyreal Vanquisher’s Large Cells cost 8,460 Infinity Stones (Level 60 open-world currency) or 1,520 Credits (1,368 for Patron) each. Found under Rift Store -> Equipment -> Upgrade Parts.

Ephemeral Element

Ephemeral Element is crafted by the Mining Profession. The recipe has a 20-hr cool-down between crafts.

Majestic Material

Majestic Material is crafted by the Foraging Profession. The recipe has a 20-hr cool-down between crafts.

Carnival Dimension Items

There’s a whole slew of new dimension items released with Carnival of the Ascended.

Note: As these are associated with Carnival of the Ascended, they are likely to not be purchasable after the World Event ends on March 19th 2014. World Event Vendors have been removed from the game and the previous World Event items are no longer available on the Rift Store.

Illusion Items

There’s 4 new Illusion items present in this year’s Carnival of the Ascended adding new full-body glow colors. Each new “Touch of” glow items cost 400 Glass Beads or 370 Credits (333 for Patrons).

Others

Third Anniversary Cake

The Third Anniversary Cake is buyable from the Rift Store -> World Event -> Consumable section for 10 Prize Tickets or 20 Credits (18 for Patron) each. It provides an END+30  buff for 1 hour.

As with other Anniversary Cakes, it is a placeable feast so other players can pick it up and the buff stacks with other normal food items (like Feast of Domination/Vengeance).

Third Anniversary Cape

The Third Anniversary Cape is available in the Rift Store -> World Event -> Costume section for 25 Glass Beads or 50 Credits (45 for Patrons). Above are both the 2nd Anniversary and 3rd Anniversary Capes.

Unfortunately for those looking to obtain the 2nd Anniversary Cape – it is no longer available under Rift Store -> Wardrobe -> Costumes and instead has been replaced by the 3rd Anniversary Cape. Whether it gets re-introduced at some point is unknown at this point.

Tit’s Partini Party Pack: 100 Partinis

This pack contained 100 Tito’s Partini items. They can be used when you have a Tito companion pet summoned to make an area of players do the /victory dance with fireworks at their feet for a short period of time.
