RIFT 3.0 Closed Beta Begins

It looks like 3.0 closed beta testing has begun on the PTS as Daglar mentioned previously [r]. Players have been seen going into the 3.0 zones. If you do a search in the search window (default key “o“) for levels 1 to 65 you can see all non-dev players:

A few things to note:

• This closed beta is open to a very limited number of external players.
• They are probably under a Non-Disclosure Agreement (“NDA”) so it is unlikely you’ll be able to find out anything about the new content from them.
• Hopefully this means they’re slowly starting to ramp things up and we may even see official 3.0 content teasers ‘soon’ (something they’ve been teasing us about for a while).
• ‘Shadow Scion’ is likely the flooded ‘Battle for Port Scion’ district datamined before. [Thanks to Mononic for finding this!]

If Trion follows the pattern of most beta testing – the closed beta will probably gradually bring in more and more players until they finally do an open beta test close to launch for stress-testing purposes.

2.0 Storm Legion’s open beta was about a week or so prior to Storm Legion Launch in November so don’t expect an open beta for 3.0 to come out anytime soon just yet!

We’ve previously put together mini-maps that TehFrank datamined from the PTS for parts of Goboro Reef, Draumheim and Tarken Glacier. However, given what the Storm Legion continents and even Mathosia zones used to look like at various stages of their development, it is quite possible that those maps will look completely different on Live from the ones we’ve pieced together.
