RIFT 3.0: Ghadual the Frenzied

General Nightmare Tide Feature Image

Trion has made a new social media post on Twitter and Facebook for ‘Ghadual, the Frenzied’ with the following lore addition:

Ghadual, the Frenzied, will accept offerings before his skelf worships dive into battle in RIFT. [r]

Included was the following image:

3.0 Nightmare Tide Ghadual the Frenzied

Ghadual the Frenzied is – by assumption – the big guy at the end of those two columns of Skelfs.

Although the image isn’t high-res, the closest Skelf we’ve seen that matches what Ghadual looks like would be the “Skelf Hero” image below:

RIFT 3.0 Nightmare Tide Skelf Hero 2

RIFT 3.0 Nightmare Tide Skelf Hero

Unarmored, muscle-y and with a large fin at the back – looks similar to the image of Ghadual. Plus it’s named “Skelf Hero” which could be synonymous with ‘mini-boss’.

Other than that, the Ghadual image has two other types of Skelfs – the armored skelfs (which we don’t have an image of) and the un-armored Skelf Warrior types.

RIFT 3.0 Nightmare Tide Skelf Warrior

The only armored Skelf we’ve got an image of would be the Skelf Shamans (and they aren’t really ‘armored’ either; just have a bone mask and seaweed skirt):

Thus there are at least 4 types of Skelfs: Skelf Hero, Skelf Warrior, Skelf Armored (unknown name) and Skelf Shamans. Will be interesting to see what other Skelfs may be available – and that’s just the surface; besides the Tribulation Soldier, Akylios-like creature, Sirens and Lady Glasya, we haven’t seen any other mobs that form RIFT 3.0: Nightmare Tide.

Can’t wait to see more reveals by Trion. Hopefully the amount of Skelfs shown in some of the recent images is an indication of the types of fights we will be facing. I can image large schools of Skelfs swimming about, hunting for prey. Perhaps they’ll continue along the route they’ve taken with the Bloodfire Army zone event Invasions, where there’s a much larger amount of mobs in a single Invasion group compared to most normal Invasion groups.

Look forward to more 3.0 information in the coming weeks! For now, check out some other 3.0-related information here.

Skelf with badass armor at the size of Volan. That would be so damn epic!

IMO, he looks too thin to be a Skelf. I might be wrong but it reminds me more of the nightmare ghosts with have in SL dungeons and chronicles. And the sentence related to the image posted by Trion does not state in any way he is also a Skelf. Your writing however seems to implicitly assume he is a Skelf. Anyway, as usual, wait & see 🙂

      Possible Ghadual the Frenzied Close-up

He looks rather muscley in the image and has large fins on his back. He’s also wielding a skelf sword (or one with similar design) which is where the assumptions have come up. The way I see it, he’s leaning forward with an arched back such that the top of his head is around waist-level. I think he’s got too much muscle mass for a sinister presence ghost. But certainly, we’ll just have to wait and see until a larger image is made available.

Oh yeah, I should have zoom in the picture. I stuck with the image in your article. Definitely more muscled than a sinister presence actually. Plus the things in his back. Looks like a Skelf in the end indeed.

Hey Sprenix! Sorry to hear you’re having issues with RIFT’s patching. I’m not really sure how to solve this issue but you should give Trion’s support an e-mail by submitting a ticket. You could also try posting in the RIFT Tech Support forum and seeing if someone can help you there. GM Fasti and GM Domitasia usually replies within 24hrs.

Hope your patching issues are resolved!
