MMORPG.com Interviews Daglar Livestream

Rob Lashley from MMORPG.com interviewed RIFT Game Director Bill “Daglar” Fisher on the MMORPG.com Livestream @ Twitch today. Daglar went over a few RIFT-related items that have popped up recently:

• Daglar showed off the new Contest Winners’ section in the Rift Store -> Wardrobe.
• Showed off the Blighted Antechamber Warfront that went back up on Live after last week’s Level bracket issues. Only had two devs so was more showing off the map rather than any actual fights.
• Talked about the recent Patron Improvements.
• Showed off the new Auction House that is currently up for testing on the Public Test Shard. If you check it out, be sure to provide feedback either via the in-game report feature or through Senior UI Artist Gingers’ feedback thread here. The more players throwing up auction listings and testing stuff out for the new AH, the better!
• Talked about Patch 2.8: Madness Wakes including:
  • New Zone Events
  • New 3.0 Prelude Quests
  • Adding in one of 3.0’s Normal Dungeons: Nightmare Coast Dungeon in Shimmersand.
  • Kitsune Mount/s. (Daglar also mentioned perhaps allowing players to equip the Kistune Mask that is on the Kistune’s saddle).
• Mentioned briefly about the process of expanding Planar Attunement. They check the % of the population that has maxed PA and when there’s enough players at max PA they will look at potentially adding new PA.
• Class Changes – Briefly mentioned Pyromancer Changes will be up for 2.8. Reaver-to-DPS changes will hit with 3.0.
• Slightly Previewed Goboro Reef’s starting area, Luminous Passage.

Trove Cape RIFT/Trove Cross-Promotion

Daglar also showed off the Trove Cape which is a cross-promotion with their other game Trove. You get this cape by leveling to Level 10 in Trove. The Trove Cape will be sent to your Rift in-game mail.

Kitsune Mount

Daglar showed off a Kitsune Mount that is coming with RIFT Patch 2.8: Madness Wakes.

Daglar also mentioned that they might add the Kitsune Mask that is on the back of the Kitsune as a costume item for the players themselves. Given what TehFrank has datamined previously, there’s likely to be multiple colors of this Kitsune Mount available at some point.

Goboro Reef

Daglar allowed Rob Lashley and viewers to get a first look at Goboro Reef, although only the beginning area – Luminous Passage – was shown.

Daglar allowed Rob to check out a small portion of the area surrounding the other side of the Infinity Gate into the Plane of Water in the zone, Goboro Reef. This area briefly shown was Luminous Passage.

Everything is still WIP, although they did show off a shark mob that is the same model as the Thrasher Mount. There was also an alpha tester on a Mossy Tartagon mount underwater – so that is probably one of the mounts that will be upgradeable to Underwater/Amphibious type.

Along with that, Rob opened up the main map which reveals that Luminous Passage is in the top-left hand corner of the Goboro Reef zone.

Some pretty juicy information amongst the stuff already known via the latest hotfixes. Look forward to more information about 2.8 and 3.0 in the future!
