A relatively small ~100MB update hit RIFT’s Public Test Shard for the 30th July 2014.
Quick Summary:
- Kitsune Supply Crate with Red Kitsune Mount
- Additional Supply Crates added to the “Classic” section of Chests & Keys.
- New UI borders for some Buffs.
Kitsune Supply Crate
There’s a new Kitsune Supply Crate up on the PTS for 650 Credits (585 for Patrons) each that provides a rare chance at the new Red Kitsune Mount. These can be found under Rift Store -> Chests & Keys or Rift Store -> Equipment on the PTS.
The in-game preview model seems to suggest that the small paws are intended rather than what some players had assumed was simply unfinished or that the paws were stuck in the ground during last week’s livestream.
Additional Classic Supply Crates
Additional Classic Supply Crates have been added in on top of the ones currently available. In addition to Deeps’, Crucia’s, Greenscale’s and Budgie Supply Crates, there are now:
- Greenscale’s Supply Crates (Rare chance at Brown Riding Squirrel Mount)
- Spectral Supply Crates (Rare chance at Volt Mount)
These all go for 650 Credits (585 for Patrons) each.
New UI Border for Buffs

Logged onto PTS with the latest update and saw the above in my buff far. A blue border with an arrow at the top. What does this represent?
Spiritual Scrutiny (buff) in the above image doesn’t have this border so it isn’t representing all buffs. Tried Shaman and it seems everything other than the GCD-reduction ability “Furious Assault” was also blue.
The new border is likely representing buffs that are purgeable. (Thanks to Chris and Bneal in the comments for confirming that Spiritual Scrutiny is non-purgeable).
Not much this time round either. Getting quite a few small updates in quick succession. The likely other changes not mentioned above include fixes for the new Auction House system and the upcoming Nightmare Coast dungeon.

Not sure if this is 100%, I don’t remember which are and aren’t, but that looks to me like the buffs with the new outline are purgeable vs the non-purgeable. I’m going off of Furious Assault.
Yea I kind of figured that would be the case, although I always thought Spiritual Scrutiny was purgeable – but I guess I’m wrong.

No, Khortish, you are wrong. Spiritual Scrutiny is nonpurgeable.
Glad to be wrong. I’ll get that part edited out in the post – seems like this is for purgeable buffs afterall.
