The RIFT Nightmare Tide page that has – up until now – been just a splash page with some animated Skelfs has now got the following bar:
Clicking on the buttons will expand the page with additional information on Features, Lore, Media, Souls and News.
The initial blurb reads as follows:
The currents of fate hasten through Telara, sweeping you toward the Infinity Gate – and the abyssal realm that waits beyond.
From colossal glaciers to cities that curl under ceiling-seas, the Plane of Water is home to the living dreams of sleeping beings. For ages, its creatures, phantoms, and nightmares have been held in balance by a cosmic watcher. But now his slumber, his realm, and the planes beyond are under siege by forces only you have the power to stop.
If you right-click and “View Background Image”, you get all the backgrounds behind the texts for each portion of the pages, including a look at Gyel Fortress and (at the very bottom), Izbithu (the 4-headed sea creature frozen in the lake in Tarken Glacier). You will also notice that in the bottom-most picture, Akylios statues are present in front of the fort in the bottom-left corner of the image.
Here’s a summary of the stuff mentioned on the page:
- 3 Zones.
- Nightmare Rifts.
- Aquatic Mounts.
- 6 new Dungeons. A Chronicle. A Sliver. A Raid.
- “Wage war against the queen of fire, lord of nightmares, and the malignant avatar of the plane’s sleeping god!”
- Mastery Abilities.
- Cap raised to Level 65.
- Minions.
- Expanded Mentoring System (Mentor up)
- Lore: They’ve added the two existing lore pieces they previously wrote, available here and here.
- Media: They’ve added a few screenshots of some images already shown before.
- Souls: Shows the Dream Souls.
- News: Basically all the news we’ve seen previously – just linking up to the RIFT website’s blog.
It’s great to see the Nightmare Tide Page finally open up with new stuff. Most of the text-based information has been known previously besides a few lore tidbits. The new stuff would be the background image shown above and now we know the Akylios Statues that TehFrank previously datamined are meant for Tarken Glacier’s forts.

By reading the updated NT page, I wonder if we’ll get updated soul trees with more souls points as well as masteries, or will masteries be the only way to upgrade our characters skills after the level 60 ?
Or maybe we don’t have more informations atm ?
It’s definitely something on my mind too. So far there’s no information whether there will be new soul points or just the masteries as far as I know.
Hum, from what I understood, there will be no extra soul points and no change in the current souls. Only masteries after level 60. And the many soul revamps we got recently would be actually out-dated/useless if they change the souls again for 3.0.
