Massively adds new screens; adds more NT Info

Lady Glasya Nightmare Tide Feature Image

Massively NT Screens

Massively has uploaded 10 new RIFT 3.0: Nightmare Tide screens to their site that you can check out here.

The following two below of are particular note:

RIFT 3.0 Lady Glasya

Lady Glasya in what is likely Gyel Fortress. Interestingly, the leaderboards and achievement categories on the PTS open to non-alpha/Beta-testers states that Gyel Fortress is a dungeon, not a raid. It seems quite odd that the leader of the Bloodfire Army – Lady Glasya – would be present in a dungeon and not a raid.

Perhaps she escapes at the last minute like the Architect Queen Inyr’Kta does in the Queen’s Gambit chronicle and is part of a raid at a later point in the timeline.

RIFT 3.0 Tarken Glacier Bone Flower

A giant bone-flower as far as I can tell. Given the floating chunk of ice in the top-left, this is probably some part of Mount Sharax. Note the tiny player at the bottom on the Ice Strider mount for size comparison.

Other images include: Izbithu, Minions UI, what looks to be the top half of an Atragarian Well and a few other areas in Goboro Reef. Check them all out here. Nightmare Tide PAX Preview Article has an article up adding more information about Nightmare Tide; mainly additional lore bits. You can find the article here.

  • It’s not just Goboro Reef that is under attack by the Plane of Fire. The Bloodfire Army is present in all 3 zones.
  • “This is also the first expansion for RIFT to be fully voiced.”
  • The Tree of Life (Gyel Fortress area) is a tougher area (probably Elite mobs). Players who enjoy exploring will be rewarded with hidden rooms and treasures.
  • Mount Sharax/Cosmic Mountain provides lore beyond the Planes. “Tarken is a glacier at the edge of the cosmos”.
  • Minions are account-wide.

Fully-voiced…?! I thought they were already doing a lot of voice-acting in Storm Legion, compared to old-school RIFT. We’re getting even more voice-acting? Yay!

Okay, not all of the voices they’ve used have been “professional” but I’m glad they were there anyway.

I’m hoping fully voiced includes uniquely voiced. I don’t want to hear the exact same thing from a robot, hologram and human porticulum master. When a robot says “Come back next time” in the same voice as I hear from merchants in Mathosia – that saddens me.

Here’s to hoping that the mermaid porticulum masters (assuming there are any) don’t sound like that merchant. Would destroy immersion.

Should throw them an audio sample 😛 I wonder how many NPCs Captain Cursor is voicing.

I do hope they add voices for Hailol, even though it won’t be “relevant” anymore. It’ll still be the greatest city in an MMO ever.

I like that idea. Fans voicing at least some of the characters. I’d love to voice a character. I think I have a fairly good voice for it too.

A competition? Would be a great event.

Why Lady Glasya looks pretty much like Estrode from Hammerknell?

Is it me, or Lady Glasya looks pretty much like Estrode from Hammerknell?

    • September 4, 2014 at 4:42 am #

Yep, Lady Glasya uses the same skeleton/rig. Same with Gelidra in Frozen Tempest.

    Goddamn doubleposting.
You would expect we will get some new rigs for xpac, especially for important characters. Kinda dissapointing.
