PTS Datamining for 24th September 2014

Datamining 24th Sept 2014 Feature Image

A large ~1.3GB PTS Update hit on 24th September 2014 which added three new Level 65 armor sets including two new models. Check out screenshots of the models as well as gear comparisons and how to upgrade them here.

Below you can find information on the datamined files that came with this update:

Summary:

  • Polish on Architecture – Draumheim, Tarken Glacier and Goboro Reef clump models.
  • More Thresher Mounts – Purple and Fire.
  • Mob Skins – Samekh, Admiral Nezavar and some other mob skin.
  • Other Skins/Models – Ghar Station models, Skull Cape, companion pet and more Skelf Weaponry.
  • Icons Datamined
  • Music/Sound Files

As always, everything below is subject to change prior to hitting Live and some things included below may never make it to Live release.

Polish on Architecture

As with the other large-sized PTS updates over the recent week, the majority of the file size comes from polish to architecture and other world environment objects. This time it’s not just Draumheim but Tarken Glacier buildings as well as some of the underwater caverns in Goboro Reef.

Draumheim Architecture

Draumheim Clump Models

Draumheim Clump Models

A lot more Draumheim models are available this time round. The vast majority are boring walls and pillars. There’s also a lot more low-quality models, perhaps for players using Low Quality Render or to improve FPS in the zone.

Draumheim Clump Models 2

Draumheim Clump Models 2

On top of the usual architecture, there’s also a ton of ‘clumps’ that combines these individual wall segments and small house doodads together. There’s also clumps for plants and rubble – but there’s nothing special to look at there. They’ve probably been added in to save on load times.

Tarken Glacier Architecture

Tarken Glacier Clump Models

Tarken Glacier Clump Models

On top of the large amount of Draumheim models, there’s also a good few Tarken Glacier ‘clump’ models that combines tiles, platforms, stairs and walls from previous datamines together.

Goboro Reef Models

Goboro Reef Cenote Well Clump Model

Goboro Reef Cenote Well Clump Model

This time round there’s also a good few Goboro Reef cave clumped up models. Most look more or less the same as the above image and aren’t too interesting to stare at. Probably added in to improve load times for areas with a lot of underground cave tunnels.

Gyel Fortress Exterier Clumps

Gyel Fortress Exterier Clump

Gyel Fortress Exterier Clump

Gyel Fortress’ exterier region has also been datamined. These already exist in-game, but perhaps they’ve added everything together – again – for optimization purposes.

More Thresher Mounts

More Sharknoid Mount Rigs

More Sharknoid Mount Rigs

More Thresher mounts have been datamined. Purple and Fire. Interestingly, both have two versions – ‘sharknoid’ under ‘creature’ and ‘mount_shark’ under ‘mount’. This could potentially suggest that some of the existing shark mobs have had skin changes so they don’t all look the same throughout the zones.

Purple Thresher Mount Skin

Purple Thresher Mount Skin

And here’s the purple Thresher mount skin! As you can see, it is purple.

Mob Skins

Samekh Skin

RIFT Datamined Samekh Skin 1

Samekh Skin – Main body.

RIFT Datamined Samekh Skin 2

Samekh Skin – Wings

The above two skins are for Samekh. Samekh is the final boss of the Level 65 “Shadow From The Beyond” Chronicle in Nightmare Tide. She uses Gelidra’s rig/model.

Admiral Nezavar Skin

Datamined Admiral Nezavar Skin

Admiral Nezavar Skin

Admiral Nezavar’s skin. The original placeholder was using General Thunderscar from Tower of the Shattered. Admiral Nezavar is the 2nd-last boss of the Gyel Fortress dungeon.

Some Kind of Mob Skin

Some Kind of Mob Skin

Some Kind of Mob Skin

I really have no clue for this one. It has paws to the right, a ‘carapace’ in the top-left corner and what looks to be a tail along the bottom. Is the bottom-left its head? Really can’t tell what it looks like. The white/blue spot in the bottom-middle area could indicate a squid’s eye though.

Other Skins/Models

Ghar Station Models

Ghar Station Communication Models

Ghar Station Communication Models

A few Ghar Station communication module models. Replacing the placeholder ones, which were Storm Legion modules.

Ghar Communication Module Skin

Ghar Communication Module Skin

And here’s the skin for the model on the left. Definitely has a different feel and color scheme to the placeholder.

Ghar Station Communication Module Skin 2

Ghar Communication Module Skin 2

And here’s the skin for the model on the right. Again, a pretty interesting look.

Skull Cape Skin

Skull Cape Skin

Skull Cape Skin

A rather interesting-looking cape. This is definitely a puzzle-related cape. You can see the ‘puzzle pieces’ design on the shoulders and the main black and white stripe piece could reflect a ‘maze’ design. This is probably either a reward for completing one of the puzzles, or a meta achievement reward for completing all Nightmare Tide zone puzzles.

Crustacean Skin

Green Mantis Turtle Crustacean Skin

Green Mantis Turtle Crustacean Skin

Probably a green version of Stofie, the crustacean Minions vendor. Probably a companion pet.

More Skelf Weaponry

More Skelf Weaponry Shields and Bow Skin

More Skelf Weaponry Shields and Bow Skin

Skins for two types of Skelf shields (top two images) as well as a bow (bottom image). The Skelf weaponry are turning out to look quite well-designed and unique from the other sets out there.

More Skelf Weaponry Models

More Skelf Weaponry Models

And the models, to give you an idea of what they look like. There’s also a Skelf gun model, although I was unable to find its skin.

Other Misc Skins

More Misc Skins

More Misc Skins

A few more misc skins. Mainly architecture including fence and window designs. The bottom four images could just be skins layered over metal, stone, totems and other such doodads. The hex designs do remind me of Planar Attunement hexes though.

Icons Datamined

Even more Datamined Icons 24th Sept 2014

Even more Datamined Icons

Even more datamined icons!

  • First row has 10 keys. Likely the new icons for Goboro Reef’s Puzzle, which involves obtaining 10 keys to access the final chest.
  • Second row has 6 jars. Perhaps for one of the other two zones’ puzzles.
  • 3rd row has a bunch of random icons. Perhaps quest icons or new reactives. The female gray head could be a new stone-curse-style cosmetic buff on the player. The last one looks like a green version of Stofie, the Minions vendor. Could be a new Minions card or companion pet.
  • Last two rows are filled with pages. Again these could be puzzle-related. 5 have bells, 6 have tentacles, 5 are ‘plain’ and 4 have jellyfish on them.

Music/Sound Files

There’s a large amount of over 900 music/sound effect files. Given the large numbers, these are likely 1-2 second sound files for mechanic attacks, minions and possibly new NPC sound effects.

Unfortunately the files have a high level of static. If anyone knows how to properly change the files to be discernable properly, your welcome to give it a shot. Interesting datamined files for this update (including the music/sound files) can be found here.

Oh, and about that possible ‘Goldfish Mount’ skin datamined previously.

Morayan Tidecaller Mob RIFT

Morayan Tidecaller Mob RIFT

Turns out to be for the serpent mobs at Moonriven Breach in Goboro Reef. Ah, disappointing – but it looks like Trion are starting to replace some of the placeholder models so that’s a positive.

More polish, this time to all zones. Placeholders are beginning to be replaced as we get closer to the expansion.

There’s also a whole bunch of gear rigs (just lines) with the latest datamine. These are likely the Abyssal Crusader and Frost Seeker armor sets that were added in with this PTS update. You can check screenshots of all the gear on male and female avatars here.
