Trion had their 26th September 2014 Friday Livestream with Livestreamer “Cole” Marshall, Senior Environment Artist Ross Worthley, Sound Designer Jason Clark and Lead Content Designer Mike “MikeD” Daugherty. Brief guest appearance by Senior Game Designer Nicholas “Captain Cursor” McDowell.
As always, everything can be subject to change prior to the content hitting Live.
Draumheim

Margle Palace in the distance.
The livestream concentrated on showing off different parts of the Draumheim zone. Draumheim is the middle zone with a giant city at the center.
Draumheim is the home of the Onir (good dreams) which are manifestations of progenitors’ dreams. There is on-going conflict between dreams and nightmares with Lord Arak instigating a revolution in the City of Dreams (Draumheim city).

Top of Margle Palace. Ever present.
No matter where you go in Draumheim, you should be able to see the top of Margle Palace. In fact, the top portion of the palace is actually above the ‘ocean-in-the-sky’.
Ocean-in-the-sky

Draumheim. Top: Swimming down to Draumheim. Bottom: Looking above.
Something you’ll find rather interesting when journeying from Goboro Reef to Draumheim is that Draumheim is on a different ‘layer’ of ocean. As you swim down from Goboro Reef, you will notice another surface of water below you. Breaking this surface drops you down into the ‘dry’ lands of Draumheim.
When you look up, you will see the ocean layer above you, including various 1mil+ hp Elite mobs that swim in the ocean above you.

Layers
The above diagram gives a quick idea of what it is like. So imagine the ‘ocean’ as Goboro Reef’s ‘ocean’, but as Draumheim’s ‘sky’.
You can get back to the ‘Ocean Sky’ from Draumheim by walking over sea sponges that are placed next to every porticulum in the zone. These will super-jump you up to the ocean sky layer.
City as New 3.0 Hub

Bankers and Auctioneers inside Margle Palace.
Although the original 3.0 hub was supposed to remain as Tempest Bay, MikeD has announced that they have since added additional facilities (auctioneers, vendors, quest daily npcs/etc) to the Draumheim city in the areas inside and surrounding Margle Palace.
This makes the City of Dreams now the 3.0 city hub – although you can still use the older cities for general facilities.

Main quest/vendor hub in the City of Dreams.
Right outside Margle Palace will be the main city hub for the various notoriety vendors, nightmare rift merchants, general vendors and quest dailies/weeklies.
A Porticulum

Left: Akylios Statue. Middle: Draumheim Porticulum. Right: Sea Sponge.
An Akylios Statue, Draumheim Porticulum and Sea Sponge. Sea Sponge takes you to the Ocean Sky.
Sanctuary of Phydrena

Sanctuary of Phydrena
As explained in the livestream, to the south of Draumheim, Lord Arak has created a whole bunch of nightmares spawned from progenitors – so you’ll find a ‘nightmare’ version of Sanctum, Meridian and 3x Port Scions. Sanctuary of Phydrena is the nightmare Sanctum.
3x Port Scions

Port Scions.
There’s 3 Port Scions and as MikeD has explained before, there will be 3 Regulos’ to deal with.
Landquarium

Landquarium.
A place with grass, trees and interesting critters dotted about.
Headfell Farm

Tribulation Soldier
To the north of Draumheim you will find Headfell Farm, which contains an assortment of interesting characters, including Tribulation Soldiers, ‘Skullplants’ and ghastly creatures milked for some nasty produce.

Nasty ‘Cow’.
Disco Bar

Discoland!
There’s an interesting portal in Bottomtown, one of the city districts in Draumheim that leads to a bar with a variety of dancing NPCs and disco lights.
Other Info
The livestream also included some other information, including on environment and sound creation as well as open beta.
- There will be an informal open beta. Before launch. Very soon. No exact ETA.
Environment and Sound
Ross, Jason and MikeD talked about the environment and sound creation.
- Ross made a lot of the Draumheim props, including the mermaids and some of the Akylios statues.
- The base model used for the mermaid statues in the Porticulums are Elves.
- Jason made a lot of the Nightmare Rift sounds and ambience sounds.
- A ton of voice overs were added in with 3.0. Approximately 2,600 new lines of voice-overs, not including the Akvan voice-overs.
- You can hear sounds of dreams and nightmares throughout Draumheim in the distance. Dreams are represented by laughter whilst nightmares are represented by various screams. In ‘friendly’ areas, you get more dream sounds and in ‘hostile’/nightmare areas, you get more nightmare-based sounds.
- Goboro Reef became the first zone as they wanted a small area that they could immediately show off an underwater area with bright, vibrant colors – but not overwhelm players with too much underwater swimming content.
- The concept of a ‘drained’ sea allowed Trion to create a Plane of Water without a lot of underwater swimming content.
- Each zone has 3 main quest hubs.
Deciding on Planes
Sven, Nick, Ross and other artists met up to brainstorm which Plane to go to for 3.0 and other details further on.
- Ross advocated the Plane of Earth.
- MikeD mentioned that the Planes do not have to be tied down to normal expectations. He mentioned that for the Plane of Earth, an idea would be to have the Plane be about time/geological/time travel.
Livestream Giveaways
During the Livestream, a handful of livestream chat channel viewers received:
- 1x Ducklar companion pet to 2 livestream viewers.
- 1x 30-day Patron Pass to 1 livestream viewer.
- 1x Nightmare Tide Ultimate Edition Pack to 1 lucky livestream viewer!
Congratulations to all the winners!

Quite a bit of Draumheim was explored, although they only touched briefly on the lore of the various areas. The most interesting point would be that the City of Dreams is now the 3.0 city hub!

Yay! Draumheim will be the city hub after all! ^_^
Also, disco bar. I definitely gotta head there when I arrive in Draumheim. 😛
Earth… time travel…
That all makes sense for a 4.0. *waits for 2016* 😛
Drauheim city is one of the most beautiful i have ever seen. Glad to be the new main city 😀
