A small ~129MB update for 30th September 2014. There was also an update on the 29th September 2014 where Nightmare Tide went into Open Beta on the PTS. Details on major points of interest in 3.0 here.
Summary:

As always, everything below is subject to change prior to hitting Live and some things included below may never make it to Live release.
Planewalker: Water Attunement
The Planewalker: Water attunement is a gear gate that prevents you from equipping gear that requires the Planewalker: Water attunement unless you have the attunement.
How to Obtain Planewalker: Water Attunement
You can obtain the Planewalker: Water Attunement in two ways:
- Gained through any of the Nightmare Tide Digital Edition packs; or
- Via an in-game method.
The in-game method is not yet available on the PTS but Daglar has stated that it will most likely involve either Void Stones (Nightmare Tide ‘Infinity Stones’-equivalent) or Abyssal Crusader’s Marks (Nightmare Tide dungeon currency).
Restricted Gear
About 10-15% of gear in Nightmare Tide will have the Planewalker: Water Attunement required. Without this attunement you cannot equip the gear.
For instance, right now on the PTS the first quest set has this requirement.
For end-game, the PTS has just added the following items to the PWA restriction:

- Dungeon Abyssal Crusader’s Boots
- World Gear Void Seeker’s Legs
The rest of the Level 65 Mark Gear does not require the Planewalker: Water Attunement. You’ll find some drop gear also requires the PWA.
New Upgrade Path for Dream Walker Gear
Trion have added a new upgrade path for Tier 3 Relic ‘Dream Walker‘ gear. There is now an upgrade path to Nightmare Tide Dungeon gear:
Dream Walker Upgrade to Abyssal Crusader
Abyssal Crusader’s are the Nightmare Tide dungeon gear. You’ll notice that this brings you from Hit+90 to Hit+125 (Experts require 800; Tier 1 Raid requires 1,000).
- Dream Walker gear can be obtained from either upgrading Level 60 Tier 2 Relics or Tier 3 Relics with Void Source Accelerators.
- Void Source Accelerators are bought with Void Stones (Nightmare Tide ‘Infinity Stone’-equivalent). These are not yet available on the PTS so there’s currently no information on how many Void Stones these cost.
This could be a good way for those in Tier 2 or Tier 3 Relics to push their Hit and general stats into Level 65 Expert dungeons early into the expansion launch. If you don’t have Dream Walkers gear you can still purchase Abyssal Crusader’s gear with Abyssal Crusader’s Marks gained from various PvE and PvP daily/weekly quests.
Gear Models up on PTS
Besides the Raid and Dungeon models that were uploaded to the PTS on 24th Sept, various drops in the Plane of Water have now received new weapon models. Goboro Reef for instance has been dropping Skelf weaponry as per below:

Above are the Skelf bow, one of the shields, a dagger and a mace. Thanks to Secx on the PTS for linking these items! You’ll likely see the Onir and Tribulation weaponry in Draumheim and the Glacial weaponry in Tarken Glacier.
New Achievements
Just 215 point addition, to Dungeons -> RIFT: Nightmare Tide -> Return to Iron Tomb and Citadel of Insanity.

Return to Iron Tomb Initial PTS Achievements
A couple more achievements are available for Return to Iron Tomb. The instance has Nightmare versions of each of the original dungeon bosses. The dungeon is not available on the LFG on PTS so it is unknown whether any testing has been done on this dungeon or not. It might not be ready for 3.0 launch.
Citadel of Insanity
Conqueror Citadel of Insanity Achievement
There’s a reward for Conqueror: Citadel of Insanity. A title “Mad Queen”/”Mad King”.
Small-sized updates but no doubt a lot more polish and bug fixes added in. Placeholders are gradually being removed as well and other additions like Planewalker: Water Attunement restrictions have started to be added to certain pieces of gear.
