PTS Update for 9th October 2014

PTS Update 9th Oct 2014 Feature Image

Yet another update hit the Public Test Shard for 8th October 2014. This time it’s 647.88mb although no doubt the bulk of that is probably re-downloading files that have been given minor changes/additions.

Summary:

  • Masteries Changes – Mage, Rogue and Warrior Mastery changes.
  • Crafting Gear Changes – Two new armor sets for Savant Crafted gear.
  • Achievement Additions – Various new rewards + PvP Rift achievements becoming Legacy.
  • Other Updates – Patron Gifts reverted to pre-NT; 10hr Adventure cost up.

As always, everything below is subject to change prior to hitting Live and some things included below may never make it to Live release.

Masteries Changes

Some changes to Masteries have hit this PTS Update as well.

Mage Masteries Changes [Image]

  • Mending Response. Both debuff and buff are now off-GCD.
  • Calculated Annihilation’s instant ability damage reduction now says 5% instead of the bugged code.

Rogue Masteries Changes [Image]

  • Energy Manipulation no longer breaks Stealth.

Warrior Masteries Changes [Image]

  • Power Manipulation no longer breaks Stealth. (probably referring to Tempest).
  • Ethereal Strikes: “Follow Up attacks refresh Open the Stream” passive has been removed.

If the above images become out-dated, check out the main Masteries article which will always have the latest images.

(Thanks to snipebad for keeping us up to date with Masteries changes.)

(Note: No changes for Cleric Masteries in this update.)

Crafting Gear Changes

Nightmare Tide Crafting Armor Sets

Nightmare Tide Crafting Armor Sets

Savant Outfitter and Armorsmith armor sets have been updated to the following two sets – one for each profession; same regardless of Class. It might be that there’s only two sets, or more are to come. The above two look like Rogue and Warrior sets. Hopefully there’s Cleric and Mage sets to come.

Achievement Additions

Achievements lost 10 points from 33857 to 33847.

Tide Turner Portrait

Tide Turner Zone Achievement

Tide Turner Zone Achievement

Zones -> RIFT: Nightmare Tide -> 230 to 280 points.

  • A new “Tide Turner” achievement for completing all Nightmare Tide zone meta achievement rewards the Tide Turner character portrait and “Tide Turner” title. Not previewable, but above you can see the portrait that was datamined last month.
  • There’s a few other portraits that were datamined at the same time as the Tide Turner portrait. Will be interesting to see how many of those are also achievement or artifact set rewards and how many are RIFT Store purchases.

Goboro Reef Achievement Rewards

Goboro Reef Further Achievement Rewards

Goboro Reef Further Achievement Rewards

Zones -> RIFT: Nightmare Tide -> Goboro Reef has two new achievements:

  • “Moist Mementoes” artifact set meta now has a reward “Goboro Coral Swimsuit” that contains both a Goboro Coral Swimsuit Bottom and Goboro Coral Swimsuit Top. Probably the red wardrobe icons datamined previously. No preview.
  • “Rapture on the Reef” zone meta that rewards “A Decorated Shell”. “Use: Feeling a little crabby.” 1hr CD. Unsure what it does – probably turns you into a hermit crab or perhaps turns you into a shell.

Draumheim Achievement Rewards

Zones -> RIFT: Nightmare Tide -> Draumheim also has two new achievements:

  • “Draumheim Doodads” artifact set meta now has a reward “Nightmare PJ’s”. I’ve attached datamined icons to the image above that are probably related.
  • “Doneheim” zone meta now has a reward “Crab Bait”. “Use: Summon crabs on a friendly player”. BOA. 5min CD.

Tarken Glacier Achievement Rewards

Zones -> RIFT: Nightmare Tide -> Tarken Glacier also has two new achievements:

  • “Tarken Ice” artifact set meta now has a reward “Raiment of the Distant Fleet”. I’ve attached the datamined files from yesterday that are more than likely the icons for the Distant Fleet set.
  • “Tarken It All” zone meta now has a reward “Loner”. “Use: Summons Loner.” BoA. (Probably a hermit crab).

Nightmare Rift Achievement Rewards

Nightmare Rift Master Achievement Rewards

Planes -> Nightmare. Previously shown the ‘Master’ meta achievements to reward various titles and Illusory Motes. With the latest update they now have additional rewards as follows:
— Nightmare I: Master now also has “Delusion of Grandeur” consumable.
— Nightmare II: Master now also has “Felljell” companion pet.
— Nightmare III: Master now also has “Nuffin” companion pet.
— Nightmare IV: Master now also has “Munchie” companion pet.
— Nightmare V: Master now also has “Imaw” companion pet.

Glacial Maw Achievement

Akvari XIII

Akvari XIII Achievement

Dungeons -> RIFT: Nightmare Tide -> Glacial Maw. 5pt addition. “Akvari XIII”, possibly a ‘rare’ mob in the dungeon.

PvP Achievement to Legacy

PvP Rift Achievements

PvP Rift Achievements to Legacy

65 points in Achievements -> PvP have been removed, bringing it down to 885 points in total. The achievements have been placed into the Legacy category – i.e., achievements that you can no longer earn. These achievements are all the PvP Rift-related achievements.

If you want these achievements in your Legacy category, you will need to complete them before they get converted to Legacy. Since the conversion has occurred on the PTS, the conversion could potentially occur as soon as next Live hotfix although it is probably more likely to occur with 3.0 launch on 22nd October 2014.

Incomplete achievements will disappear forever. In the above image, my ‘Planar Warlord’ and ‘First Line of Defense’ achievements were completely removed on PTS.

PvP Rifts

You can get the PvP Rift lure for 2,500 Favor from RIFT Store -> Rifts. It is called “Ascended Power: Lure of the Eye”. To open a PvP Rift, go to a Raid Tear in Mathosia and use the lure.

The objective of the PvP Rift is to collect sourcestones that spawn in the rift and then run to the point on the map that is indicated after you pick up your sourcestone. Once you run over the platform at that location your sourcestone will be deposited and this will contribute to the PvP Rift’s objectives. Run enough sourcestones to complete the PvP Rift.

You can fail the rift by either the timer counting down to 0 or the pillar in the middle of the PvP Rift being destroyed by the opposing faction.

Other Updates

  • Nightmare Tide Raid Rift Lure costs have changed to 60,000 Planarite and 900 Void Stones (basically changing the IS requirement to VS).
  • Referral Rewards supply crate reward has changed from Budgie Supply Crate (scale 60) to the Cobalt Crabnarok Supply Crate (scale 65). This is found under RIFT Store -> Referral Rewards. Costs 550 Referral Coins.
  • Cobalt Crabnarok Supply Crates now preview the Gloop (green jellyfish) companion pet instead of Red Kitsune Mount.
  • 10hr Adventures now require 250 Aventurine (up from 200).

New models, Masteries changes and new achievement rewards for this latest update! Glad to see more than just Minion Cards and Titles for achievement rewards.

Nightmare Tide is in Open Beta right now on the PTS, so check all the changes out for yourself on the PTS!

What do you think the chances are that the “Nightmare PJ’s” are in honour of the horse head guy that keeps stalking the live stream guys?

Probably quite high. There’s a Fernand + 4x ‘AFK’ NPCs walking into a wall in Draumheim so it wouldn’t be surprising to see a reference to Boase. 😛

I LOVE that they seem to be putting in fun rewards for achievements again, and not just crystallized insight like most of SL. Seriously, super happy about that (granted, cheeve point whore here). Here’s hoping there’s even more of those that get made before launch.

I also really appreciate the references to the community such as Fernand in Draumheim like you guys mentioned. I saw the AFK team running into the wall, and was gonna report it as a bugged out NPC, then I saw their names and actually loled at it.
