PTS Update for 13th October 2014

A 585.9MB download hit the Public Test Shard for 13th October 2014. Quite a few interesting additions were added in this time round.

Summary:

  • Class Changes – Warrior and Cleric soul changes.
  • Gear Additions – Model replacements, new Focus, notoriety companion pets and Crafter’s Energy Infusion.
  • New Mounts – Cobalt Crabnarok Mount full preview + 155% Mount.

As always, everything below is subject to change prior to hitting Live and some things included below may never make it to Live release.

Class Changes

Some class changes for Warrior Warlord and Cleric Inquisitor souls:

Warrior Changes

  • Defensive Posture – Now a 20pt root ability (originally 12pt root ability)
  • Brothers in Arms – Now a 30pt tree ability in Tier 7. (originally 20pt root ability)
  • Battlefield Medic – Now a 12pt root ability (originally in the new Brothers in Arms location)

Cleric Changes

Inquisitor Changes 13th Oct 2014

Inquisitor Changes

Kervik’s changes to the Cleric Inquisitor spec mentioned last week have now made it onto the PTS with the latest update:

  • Unified Theory no longer reduces the cooldown of Nysyr’s Rebuke when consumed.
  • Life and Death Concord now also procs from damaging Ethereal abilities.
  • Soul Stream triggers a stack of Life and Death Concord on each tick.
  • Single target channeled abilities now reduce the cooldown of Nysyr’s Rebuke by 3s on cast.
  • Symbol of Corruption now deals its full damage instantly if you already have Symbol of Corruption on the enemy.
  • Remove Aggressive Renewal.
  • New ability: Aggressive Inquisition – 2s channel. Casts Bolt of Depravity every 0.5s. Does not occur on initial cast. 1 min cooldown. This is a 44 point root ability.
  • Mental Resilience now also causes single target channeled abilities to apply a buff to the caster for 30s, increasing damage by 3/6/10%.

Give the changes a go on the PTS! With the addition of Aggressive Inquisition and since the Level 65 Mastery Soul Stream now triggers Life and Death Concord stacks, rotations are likely to change up again.

Gear Additions

A couple of gear additions have made it to the PTS with this latest update:

Model Changes

Four new models have appeared, filling out the ‘missing’ models. Void Seekers have now also been changed to use the Abyssal Crusader’s gear models.

Abyssal Crusader’s Gear models are finally up for Mages and Rogues. These are not dyeable yet. Found under RIFT Store -> Equipment -> Armor with Level 65 filter. You can check out the Cleric and Warrior models here.

Crafting Gear Models

The last two models for Nightmare Tide crafted armor pieces have been added in. The Mages and Clerics now have their own models. You can check out the Warrior and Rogue models here.

Focus of Nightmares

Focus of Nightmares

Focus of Nightmares

A new “Focus of Nightmares” Level 65 focus is up on the RIFT Store -> Equipment -> Focus. It is Bind on pickup and gives Endurance + 75 and Resist All + 50, which is better than the current BiS focus on Live: Mortiferous’ Sigil.

It requires Level 65 and for now states that it needs 9,600 Warlord’s Marks of Conquest. This is potentially placeholder as I suspect Trion will probably want players to continue participating in the Level 65 version of Conquest.

If the currency requirement does change to a new type of currency, it will probably mean that you won’t be able to obtain this focus until at least a few weeks after Nightmare Tide launch. This is because Trion has mentioned that Conquest will be locked until a decent amount of players hit Level 65.

Further Notoriety Goods

There’s a few more notoriety goods added in to the RIFT Store and new companion pets that require notoriety.

RIFT Store Placement

First up, a few items have been placed on the RIFT Store (also available at Notoriety vendors):

  • Level 65 Notoriety Runes now found under RIFT Store -> Equipment -> Runes.
  • Costume Notoriety Capes (with only resist on them) can now be found under RIFT Store -> Wardrobe -> Costumes, at the very bottom.

Notoriety Companion Pets

A few notoriety companion pets, one for each notoriety (besides Manugo League). Few interesting tidbits:

  • Ochopus is probably a nod to CM Ocho (‘oh-cho’).
  • Gerbik is possibly a nod to Mage and Cleric class lead Kervik.

Crafter’s Energy Infusion

Crafter's Energy Infusion

Crafter’s Energy Infusion

Under RIFT Store -> Crafting, there is now a credits-only item that resets the cooldown on all your crafting recipes. These would help bypass the Advanced Amender-type recipes’ 20hr CDs.

New Mounts

DEV_SupermanSocks reveals the new Cobalt Crabnarok Mount in all its glory and we get a new 155% mount on the RIFT Store.

Cobalt Crabnarok Mount

Cobalt Crabnarok Mount Preview Front and Back

Gained from Cobalt Crabnarok Supply Crates (that scale to lvl 65) on the RIFT Store -> Chests & Keys and from Crabnarok Lock Boxes, this mount uses the Abyssal Crab skin and Hellbug model, but also has its own trunk of goods such as a shark jaw and harpoon on its back.

You’ll probably have to wait until Nightmare Tide to get a chance at one of these.

155% Mount

Singing Devourer Mount Preview

Singing Devourer Mount

An 155% Mount now appears in the RIFT Store -> Mounts section called the Singing Devourer. It has the same model as the Bounding Devourer mount so it is unknown whether this model is currently placeholder. It costs 30k platinum with no credits option. This could be placeholder, although Daglar did previously mention that an 155% mount would appear at the Manugo League notoriety vendor that would cost a lot of plat-only.

The ‘Singing Devourer’ mount on the PTS currently does not have a notoriety requirement and  the Manugo League vendor still has only placeholder Level 60 notoriety runes. It is unknown if the mount that is supposed to be gained via the Manugo League vendor is the ‘Singing Devourer’ mount.

Another update, this time with new model replacements, additional companion pets and mounts. No Masteries or achievement updates.

Nightmare Tide is in Open Beta right now on the PTS, so check all the changes out for yourself on the PTS!

Not sure if it worth 30K plat just to get 5% more speed if the mount is not new.

Are these the same changes as the ones mentioned on the 10th, or are they new ones?

Lol i will be very upset if the ”new mount” will be the singing devourer and will be the same old mount. They could add a crab at another color or shark or whater , but not an old mount with new speed. They add new mount from a stupid lockbox but not an ingame one ?
This is a joke , none will pay not even 10k for this mount just for 5% more speed.
    Really hope is a placeholder….. 😦
