RIFT news tidbits for 8th December 2014. Check out all the info below:
General
- World First Threngar/Mount Sharax! Congratulations to Apotheosys (EU; Typhiria) for being the first guild to take down the final boss in Mount Sharax, Threngar! Launched on 6th November 2014, it has taken just over a month for the first Tier 1 20-man Raid for Nightmare Tide to be taken down.
- Minions Info:
- Dimension Boxes #1. Firstly, the 5min/15min Dimension adventures will have rewards placed into boxes just like the 8hr/10hr adventures. [r]
- Dimension Boxes #2. Secondly, Attanium Crystals will be separated from the box so that the Dimension Boxes only contain dimension items. Thus those not interested in dimensions don’t have to open the boxes and can just sell the boxes instead of individual items. [r]
- Dimension Boxes #3. Thirdly, Snedhepl will check out whether it will be possible to allow these boxes to have a small vendor price based on rank/stars. [r]
- Tooltip Update. Snedhepl will add a tooltip in RIFT 3.1 so players know you can earn Aventurine when you take your minions on the non-1min adventures. [r]
- Upcoming Planar Essence Unsocketing Change. Pithos has announced that with this week’s hotfix, the Bind on Equip essences in your planar focus will no longer remain Bind on Equip when you remove them. Instead, they’ll become Bind on Pickup like they are originally supposed to. [r]

- Turning in Nightmare Rifts Tip. MickNico on the RIFT Forums has posted a nice tip for anyone looking to make it easier to turn away during look-away shielding mechanics in Nightmare Rifts (which also helps for general boss mechanics). What to do? Enlarge your Notification Messages text box and place it in an area that catches your attention. Details can be found here.

This should NOT happen as it will be a bot paradise worse then it was with fishing.
Botters will be able to log into freebie accounts all day long and harvest dimension boxes for gold and sell it. It ruined fishing and this is turn will ruin minions in Rift.
I used to be able to fish in down time and make some plat in the chests before the botters ruined that.

I can see where there are coming from in this, but why would I want to unsocket one besides wanting to send to an alt or vendor it. If its mine forever just overwrite it.
to make you buy an unsocketing thingy.
Outside of the Bind on Equip bug and the rare instance you decide to send a BoA essence to your alts, the other instance where unsockets are demanded would be when a new tier of planar focus comes out and you want to transfer all your essences to that focus.
