RIFT news tidbits for 16th December 2014. Check out all the info below:

Notice: RIFT 3.0 Hotfix #11 is coming earlier for EU than usual. Hits at 11PM GMT on 17th Dec 2014 (TC)(CD) instead of the usual 2am the following day. It is both an update and server maintenance that will last approx. 3hrs.

For NA, it is only an update with servers going down at 7:30AM PST on 17th Dec 2014 (TC)(CD) for approx. 1hr.

Fae Yule World Event

The Fae Yule World Event started on 11th Dec and will end on 8th January at 3:30PM Server Time.

• Faelight Sparkle Bug Fix. The Faelight Sparkle bug where you might occasionally not receive Faelight Sparkles when you are dead/respawning during a win in a warfront or successful completion of an Expert dungeon, should be fixed with this week’s hotfix. [r]

• Minion Card: Yulogen. This card is intended to not increase its attribute values until it is maxed out. [r]

Golden Devourer World First

The Golden Devourer was summoned and defeated on Greybriar (NA) today for what is likely the World First (definitely NA first given all the shard firsts on all shards).

The Golden Devourer is found at the same place as where Senbora the Devourer spawns at the bottom of Greenscale’s Crater in the Level 60 zone, The Dendrome at (4491, 4545). During this kill he had 1.47 billion hp.

Minion Card The Golden Devourer

You get a quest completion (kind of like carnage quests) even without picking up any quests once the Golden Devourer dies. The quest rewards: Minion Card: The Golden Devourer; 200x Fragments of Horror (Tier 1 Raid currency); Dark Ice Bell, 434k XP and 1p 73g 34s.

Minion Card: The Golden Devourer has Earth and Assassination attributes and starts with 12 stamina (so likely has 30 stamina when maxed).

Summoning The Golden Devourer

How to summon him? Still no concrete idea. Nathi@Greybriar stated that after entering and re-emerging from the cave near Senbora’s spawn, the Golden Devourer suddenly appeared. This has not been reproducible and there were likely other factors involved to trigger the Golden Devourer.

General

• RIFT Mouse Pads. Kerilar is apparently giving away RIFT mouse pads to fans! Just PM him on his twitter account here and good luck!

• State of the Minunion. Snedhepl posts a ‘State of the Minunion’ with information on upcoming changes and fixes to Minion adventure payouts. There’s also some changes to a few Fae Yule minion cards to improve their stamina and/or attributes. [r]

• Resplendent Embrace Bug. Kervik will take a look at a bug with Cleric Justicar’s ‘Resplendent Embrace’ ability not increasing max HP to the proper amount. Any fix however won’t make it until at least January due to the holidays. [r]

• About Free Patron Bug. A few players received some short-term free Patron and other items at random. GM Fasti has stated that this seems to be related to security question updates that no longer exist anymore. Updating your security questions used to give you three days of Patron. If you received any other items due to this bug, GM Fasti has stated that “you can keep those”. [r]

• Server Adjustments for Conquest. CM Ocho has announced that Trion is looking to adjust how Conquest is handled by RIFT’s servers to hopefully improve performance. Changes will go out with this week’s hotfix. [r]
