RIFT news tidbits for 21st Jan 2015.

General

• Event: Raid Rift Playtest on PTS. Reminder that Krug is holding an official playtest, testing out the upcoming “The Darkest Magic” Raid Rift. Time for event is this Thursday, 22nd Jan at 12pm PST (TC)(CD). [r]

• RIFT 3.0 Hotfix #14. The Yrlwalach and Finric now drop Heart of the Frozen. Abyssal Crusader’s Weapons on RIFT Store -> Equipment -> Weapons now have upgrade. Some crafted gear have also had reduced Void Source Accelerator upgrade costs, and Marauder’s Supply Cache gear have been “significantly increased in power”. Patch notes here.

• Heart before Hotfix. If you happened to kill The Yrlwalach or Finric after this week’s reset but before the hotfix, get your raid lead to open a ticket with CS. [r]

• Item: Dreadwind, the Stormbringer Fix. Josh York has announced that the change of Dreadwind’s proc to a dps proc is “an error on our end and will be corrected”. No details on whether this simply reverts to the old ST heal proc or if it will change to, say, an AoE heal proc. [r]

• PTS: Test Dimension Items Being Removed. Krug has provided a head’s up that the four buttons next to the entrance portal inside the Chronicle: Rhen of Fate on the PTS will be removed soon. The buttons give you the chronicle’s achievement rewards to test out – these are animated/wandering NPC dimension items. [r]
  • If you want to test the items out, go to the PTS -> open Chronicle Window (default key “j”) -> Chronicle: Rhen of Fate -> Enter -> Turn around and click on the orbs next to the entrance portal whilst you’re inside the instance -> Dimension items will appear in your inventory -> Go to your Dimension and place the dimension items there.

• Free Camera Mode – Further Info. With 3.1, Dimensions will get a ‘Free Camera Mode’ option which allows you to freely fly around the dimension. “Carpy”, the Dimension Software Engineer, has posted more information on additional hotkeys you can use whilst in Free Camera Mode: [r]
  • Holding Shift speeds up your movement. Holding Ctrl slows down your movement.
  • You can move straight up or down with the E and Q keys.

• Arclight Rider Mount Audio Issues. With the sfx for Arclight Rider Mounts in the game with the latest hotfix, an issue has propped up where you can still hear the vfx even after dismounting. Andy Crosby from the Audio Team has announced that this is being fixed. [r]
  • For now, a temporary solution is to dismount, logout to character screen and then lock back in.
