RIFT news tidbits for 22nd Jan 2015.

General

• Patch 3.1 Launch Date Announced! Trion have announced that Patch 3.1 will be launching on 28th January 2015! Check out full details and what’s coming to the patch here.

• Event: Zone Event Playtest on PTS. Darkmoon is holding an official Zone Event Playtest on the PTS. Time for event is this Friday, 23rd Jan at 4pm PST (TC)(CD). [r]

• Notice: Don’t Upgrade Ghar Essences. An upgrade cost reduction is up on the PTS for all Ghar Essences (ones on the RIFT Store), not just NMR5-unlocked ones. All Mote costs are now 10x. [r]

• Hidden Minion Card Hint. Gingers has provided a hint to one of the upcoming hidden minion cards arriving with 3.1. “The hooded figure with a ‘quiet’ gesture is for the secret minion adventures”. [r] So, keep an eye out for the following. It could be a RIFT Store mini-feature image background:

• Marauder Gear Proc Review. Daglar has stated that the system team will take a look at the proc disparity between Expert/Raid-dropped gear and Marauder/Dreambreaker gear. No ETA. [r]

• Marauder Upgrade Issues. With the latest hotfix, Marauder gear got a stat boost. However, the base, un-upgraded gear didn’t get the boost applied retroactively to those who already had the gear. Unfortunately Archonix has stated that nothing can be done about this. [r] He is also taking a look at the ridiculous Block values on some shields and will nerf them.

• Marauder 3-stat Removal. Note that the 3-stat Marauder gear (without secondary stat) have had a stat boost, but they will not be removed from the loot table of Marauder Supply Caches until Patch 3.1 (28th Jan). So if you don’t want to risk getting this gear, you might want to wait until after Patch 3.1 hits before you open your Caches. [r]

• PTS Update. The PTS received another update today. For now, all Ghar essences have gotten upgrade cost reductions. Snipebad and haybale have also posted about Marksman changes that have hit the PTS. You can read up on the changes here.
