RIFT Live Datamining for 28th January 2015

Below you can find interesting datamined files from the Live client for the RIFT 3.1: Storm at Sea patch.

Summary:

• More Lord Arak Raid Models
  
• Other Models: Ice Porticulum, Air and Nightmare Oculons.

As always, everything below is subject to change and even though these were datamined from the Live client, they might end up not appearing (or appearing months later).

More Lord Arak Raid Models

Back during PTS Datamining for 13th Jan 2015, the files showed a whole bunch of models for a “lord_arak_raid”. The Live datamining of Patch 3.1 has shown a few more interesting files related to this new dungeon/raid.

To make things easier to read, I’m going to assume this is a raid based on the name. It might not be, but it’s easier than having to type dungeon/raid whenever referring to it.

Entrance 02

The above model has the file name “D_LAR_entrance_02.ma”, so it is probably either the entrance to the second boss/enclosure, or perhaps the 2nd model that is connected to the main entrance for the raid.

The top-down view in the top-right shows that it curves, but the other views are a little more strange; almost like there’s an upper and lower path – perhaps as two ‘wings’ that lead to different bosses (like in Infernal Dawn).

End to Reason

A new ‘D_LAR_end_to_reason_01.ma’ model is up. Notice the two towers in front that connect towards a main building at the back.

Interestingly there’s a massive scale hovering over the building.

The previously datamined ‘end_to_reason_03.ma’ is very similar to this new model. Is it a different iteration, or do both models exist in this Lord Arak Raid?

If we consider Lord Arak and his theme of nightmares, the ‘End to Reason’ encounters could be ‘levels’ of nightmares that get increasingly harder/stranger as you proceed to the next level. You proceed to the next level via the Towers, with the lower-elevated tower being the previous encounter and the higher-elevated tower being the next encounter that is only accessible once you kill the boss of the current level.

Entrance Platform Center

Interestingly there’s a model of Volan as part of the dungeon. Now, this might just be placeholder as the model name is “D_LAR_entrance_platform_center_02.ma”, which doesn’t really sound like a mob. Who knows, maybe the entrance to the dungeon has an inactive or frozen Volan at its core.

Misc. LAR Models

Misc. models including platforms and other passageways. There’s parts from the Nexus of Nightmares and Heart of Darkness. Several of the platforms seem to suggest that there’s either multiple passageways, or that raiders will need to split up. These could also just be background doodads though.

A few more models. The top two are pretty interesting files:

• D_LAR_entrance_platform_left_02 file name might support the speculation that there’s at least two wings in this raid.
• D_LAR_heart_of_darkness_07.ma shows a boss2_m.

Other Models

Ice Porticulum

Ice Porticulum Model

A Tarken Glacier Ice Porticulum model. Either an old model that was replaced with the current mermaid ones, or perhaps one for a future porticulum.

Air Oculon

An Air Oculon. Probably something Crucia employs. The one at Tyrant’s Throne is a death oculon so this is for something else. It seems the Tenebreans are giving away Oculons left and right!

Nightmare Oculon

Wouldn’t be surprised if Lord Arak was given Nightmare Oculons by the Tenebreans, or just dreamt them up.

Warfront Announcer

Some sound files for a new Warfront Announcer, some kind of ‘Skelf Preacher’-type NPC. You’ll probably see this on the RIFT Store under Services along with existing Warfront Announcers at some point.

You can check out the sound files here. Probably easier to download the entire .rar instead of listening to individual files, because each individual file only lasts a few seconds.

More Lord Arak Raid files. Also an interesting Warfront Announcer. We’ll probably see these files on the PTS in the next update, if they’re not already up.
