PTS Update + Datamining 2nd February 2015

RIFT’s Public Test Shard (‘PTS’) was updated on the 2nd of February 2015 with an approx. 93MB update.

PTS Updates on 29th and 30th of January showed nothing new, likely updating to the Live version. More interesting was the Live datamining on 28th Jan 2015 which showed further Lord Arak Raid models.

Patch version for 2nd February 2015 PTS Update is TEST-301-31-A-979371.

As always, everything below is subject to change prior to hitting Live and some things included below may never make it to Live release.

Achievement Issues

First up there’s a few issues with achievements on the PTS. Companion pets, mounts, quests, instant adventures and carnage ‘counts’ are wrong – perhaps doubled up or more so some players will notice that they’ll get a lot of completed achievement announcements pop up when they log onto the PTS after today’s patch.

No new achievements though.

World Event in RIFT Store

RIFT Store World Event – Combined

The World Event tab is back up on the RIFT Store, and it includes items from all annual world events. Not sure if this is a PTS-only thing, or perhaps Trion will open this tab up on Live for a few days during Mariel-Taun Day (Valentine’s Day), or perhaps for the Carnival of the Ascended.

If it does go up on Live, you’ll be able to obtain the old event items again for event currency or Credits.

Disc Mount Icon and Skin

Disc Mount Skin

The latest PTS Update’s files show a skin that is clearly for the “mount_disc.ma” datamined in the past. The left side of this skin is likely the underside whilst the right side is the top of the mount.

The top half (right) has lines in the grey section that seems to indicate that this is a mechanical object. However, the underside (left side) seems to have gills. With the overall shape, this seems to be a mechanical mount with design inspired by a sting ray.

It’s unknown if this mount has a physical tail, or perhaps vfx trailing behind it create the illusion of a tail to complete the ‘sting ray’ image.

Disc Mount Model

Both the skin and model do not indicate a physical tail like most sting rays possess. However, the top part of the model might indicate an area where vfx could come out as a trailing ‘tail’.

No indication of how big this mount will be; whether it will be like a small hoverboard or something along the size of a Tartagon mount.

Other Info

Datamined Icons

Two icons were in the latest PTS Update’s files. The first one is clearly the Disc Mount, but the second one looks more like a Storm Legion platform, and might just be a jump reactive for a quest or boss encounter. Or perhaps it’s the ‘mount_levitate.ma’?

Inquisitor Bug Fixed

On the PTS the Cleric Inquisitor soul bug that hit Live with 3.1 has been fixed. This was a bug where using up Unified Theory would give you 4 Echoing Concord stacks instead of 2, allowing you to never have to use Bolt of Judgment to build up stacks of Life & Death Concord after the first Unified Theory proc in your rotation.

Harrow Crypt Dimension Fixed

A couple of .dat files related to Stonefield. Patch 3.1 added boulders blocking off the underground passage in the Harrow Crypt dimension, and made the dimension smaller. These .dat files likely relate to a fix for these issues.

LFG Window Tooltip

Trion have updated the information for the LFG window to stating: “XP and Coin rewards based on difficulty” to tell players that they’ll still earn rewards. ‘Difficulty’ here would be whether you are mentored up, mentored down or at the level of the instance.

Tyrant’s Forge Leaderboards

The Leaderboards (default key “;“) now has Tyrant’s Forge bosses. Nothing surprising, although it’s interesting to note that there’s only Izkinra for Mount Sharax.

Transcendent Chest Missing

The upgrade from Frost Horror to Frozen Mechanized (Transcendent/Red) chests have disappeared on the basic upgrade (thanks to Boase for the clarification!).

If you select the sidegrades, those don’t upgrade to Transcendent.

All the upgrade paths are still on Live.

A few misc. tidbits and some issues with achievements. The most interesting item out of the latest PTS is the Disc Mount skin, icon and model. Look forward to that mount coming out at some point in the future.
