RIFT News Tidbits 10th Feb 2015

RIFT news tidbits for 10th Feb 2015. Slow news day, but will probably get a little more exciting after this week’s Friday livestream.

Also, Mariel-Taun Day (Valentine’s Day celebrations, usually lasts a few days) should be starting soon. Might start Thursday 3:30PM Server Time like most World Events. You can check out some of the achievements you can get via Achievements (default key “h“) -> World Event -> Mariel-Taun Day.

General

• Upcoming Shard Down-time. Shards will go down for RIFT 3.1: Hotfix #3 at 2/11/15, at 7:30 AM PST (NA) and 2/12/15 at 2:00 AM GMT (EU). Estimated down-time is approximately 1hr.

• Livestream this Friday. Mark your calenders for Trion’s Livestream this Friday which has a RIFT segment at 3:30PM PST. “Explore Minions and Crafting Changes with the RIFT team!” Looks like Morticus will be talking about all the upcoming crafting changes (trinkets, epic upgrades, Apothecary/Dream Weaver upgrade components/Amenders, earrings, new bag slot/etc).
  • Of course if you can’t make it, I’ll have my usual Livestream Summary up a few hours after the stream.
  • In the mean-time, keep stocking up on those Craft marks!

• Additional Payment Methods. Daglar has stated that Trion is working on providing some additional payment options for RIFT. No details. [r] He did, however, mention that Trion is unlikely to support SMS-based payments, and even if they did, prices would be higher due to higher charges associated with this form of payment. [r]

• No Preview for Combat Pet Skins. Recently the preview for combat pet skins found under RIFT Store -> Pets -> Combat Pet Skins are no longer visible. A fix is being worked on. [r]

• Oculus Rift Support – Additional Info. On top of other changes/fixes mentioned recently, next week’s hotfix will also be fixing mouse location so that it isn’t hard to click on UI elements the further you are away from the center of the screen whilst in Oculus mode. [r]
