Valentine’s Day Celebrations

Valentine's Day RIFT 2015

Unfortunately Tacitus has stated that there will not be Mariel-Taun Day celebrations this year [r]. However, the RIFT Store front page has a few Valentine’s Day-themed items you can pick up:

  • Lovely Budgie Mount. Account-wide. 4,500 Credits (4,050 for Patrons).
  • Self Love Bug. Gives love heart vfx around your character. 300 Credits (270 for Patrons).
  • Pack of Flowers. Gives three flower-based cosmetic weapons. 500 Credits (450 for Patrons).
  • Exceptionally Pink Dye. Found in the top-right corner of the RIFT Store front page. 300 Credits (270 for Patrons).

These seem to last until the end of this reset week.

World First Mechanical Tyrant

Congratulations to Apotheosys (EU, Typhiria) for getting World First Mechanical Tyrant (Mecha Crucia) in Tyrant’s Forge! That’s World First on the new raid.

Mechanical Tyrant Loot

Mechanical Tyrant Loot Apotheosys

Loot drop was 2 capes, a Tyrant’s Forge Anvil and a Heart of the Frozen. Thanks to Eione on the RIFT Forums for posting up Apotheosys’ kill loot!

You can check current standings on all Tyrant’s Forge bosses here.

Tyrant’s Forge Guides

Oria Xu has some excellent video guides for the first two bosses of Tyrant’s Forge you can find below:

  • RIFT 3.1 Hotfix #3. This week’s hotfix is approx 140MB in size and introduces a Guild Level cap increase to 30 with new %-based Sigils and Notoriety bonuses. There’s also a heap of Crafting additions including Earring recipes and new Epic/Relic Amenders. Check out full patch notes here.
  • Crafting Changes Info:

    • LIVE: Earring recipes, Epic/Relic Amenders, new crafting materials added in today. Check your nearest Artificer trainer for Earring recipes.
    • Next Week: Dream Weaver Daily, more crafting materials and craftable Trinkets.
    • Full information and screenshots can be found here.
    • Disabled Recipes: Thalasite Dream Alloy (Mining), Thalasite Nightmare Alloy (Mining), Nightmare Distillate (Apothecary) and Nightmare Amalgamation (Apothecary) recipes have been disabled. If you managed to buy one of these, please contact customer service and you will get refunded the difference between the incorrect and correct price. [r]
    • Craft UI Issue. With the latest update you can no longer use the small arrow icon that takes you to other recipes required by your primary recipe. This will be fixed next week. [r]
    • This Friday: RIFT Livestream going over Crafting changes at 3:30PM PST on Trion’s Twitch Channel.
    • You can post feedback for the new craftable Earrings in Morticus’ thread here.
  • Website Fixed. The RIFT website should be working properly again and not automatically redirect you to the Sign-up Page. If you are still having issues, try deleting your browser’s cookies and cache. If the issue still persists, contact CM Morgana and she’ll pass it on to the web team. [r]
  • Bloodfire Stronghold. With the latest hotfix, you should now be able to enter the Bloodfire Stronghold again. If you saw this instance in a low-level LFG queue, this should now be fixed so it will no longer appear in the queue. [r]
  • Mage Update. Red Hawk has been busy fixing bugs this past week, but will concentrate on Pyromancer and Necromancer going forward. He wants to bring Pyro’s sustained DPS back up without significantly increasing its burst for PvP. He is also looking to tune up Necromancer so it becomes more raid-viable. [r]
  • Blighted Antechamber Warfront Change Explained. Blighted Antechamber starting locations now have line of sight blockers so that players cannot attack or be attacked from those platforms. Kerilar explains that this change was brought in to eliminate grip-ports back to base, risk-free ranged attacks from above and because the mechanics of the warfront require going close to the other team’s base. [r]
  • ‘Secret’ Minions Not So Secret. So the latest adventure chain was assumed to lead to a bunch of hidden minion cards. However, the latest hotfix introduced some of the minion cards into boxes:
    • Lil’Reggie (Death, Dimension) is obtained via Nightmare Rift Caches; [r]
    • Ionraic (Earth, Artifact) from Instant Adventure Boxes; [r]
    • According to Turntablist, General Quaq is probably obtained from a Marauder’s Supply Crate (PvP box for winning a Level 60+ warfront). [r]
    • This information has been added to the Minion Card Database.
    • Keep an eye out for Orlan and Pyrestorm minion cards.
  • No Mariel-Taun Day – Special Carnival 2016. Tacitus has announced that there will be no Mariel-Taun Day this year. He has however stated there will be “a few new small offerings” for Carnival of the Ascended this year, with a “major Carnival update” for 2016 planned. [r]

Carnival 2016??? Not this year but next? That’s a really long way out. :/

Also, it’s not new banners but sigils (gives the raid a buff). You can still use banners but only 2 guild perks at a time. Also, they require a different store bought item to use (not just the old banners) and it’s really really expensive (5p each). With extended time, they last for 9 minutes only but don’t expire with death. Euca pointed out to me that the banner that increases cp is better than the sigil….. It increases for 60cp but the sigil does 2%. If everyone was at max cp which is just over 3000, that’s 60cp. So cheaper route for that is still the banner.

Thanks for the info Chickie! Yea, that does seem strange on the CP Sigil – should probably up the %.

CP sigil increases by 3%, so if you have 2200 CP will add 66, better than old banner 🙂
