RIFT News Tidbits 12th Feb 2015

General Feature Image

RIFT news tidbits for 12th Feb 2015.

  • Valentine’s Day RIFT Store items are up on the RIFT Store: Lovely Budgie Mount, Love Bug vfx, flower weapons and Exceptionally Pink Dye. Will last until next reset.

General

  • Live Datamining 11th Feb 2015. The recent hotfix included some Carnival of the Ascended files – feature images, 4th anniversary cape, new Yrlwalach Parade and a party duck companion pet. There’s also a model for a second Disc Mount – Air themed and two interesting icons. Check out full details and screenshots here.
  • Crafting Changes Info:

    • 30-slot Bag. Morticus has announced that a unique equip 30-slot bag will be craftable by Outfitters. No ETA. [r] Archonix is also looking at ideas at the growing UI real estate of the higher-slot bags.
    • Craftable Trinkets with Procs. Morticus has confirmed that the craftable Trinkets coming next week will have procs when fully upgraded. [r]
    • Artificer Earring Stat Fixes. Some stats on certain earrings have been adjusted. No ETA or further details but these probably relate stat disparities between classes, and the fact the pre-60 earrings cannot be augmented. [r]
  • Adventure Cache Rewards. Tacitus reiterates that all Adventure Caches obtained from doing Instant Adventures (Adventure Cache, Empyreal Adventure Cache and Nightmare Adventure Cache) have a chance at level appropriate gear, IA-dropped mounts, wardrobe items, artifacts, lockboxes and minions. [r] Basically, you don’t need to do a specific zone’s IA to get a specific mount you are after, unlike in the past.
  • Possible Dream Souls Bought Direct. Daglar has potentially suggested that Trion may be looking at adding the option to allow Dream Souls to be directly bought from the RIFT website. Not concrete confirmation though. [r]
  • Guild Tracker Bug. Currently if you try to track the guild quest, the tracking will be removed after your log out. MrScary is looking into a fix for this. [r]
  • Shard Crashes. There’s been a few shard crashes both yesterday and today with Faeblight, Wolfsbane and Laethys experiencing a crash or two here and there over the course of the day. CM Ocho has announced that Trion have identified the issue and “are in the process of keeping it from happening again”. [r]
  • About Recent Exploits. Recently a whole bunch of players got perma-banned for exploiting the Rhen of Fate and Mount Sharax raids – the exploit allowed them to be invulnerable to bosses, effectively allowing each of them to solo the raid bosses.
    • Some of the exploiters have been publicly apologizing for their exploit in an attempt to remove the perma-ban from their accounts.
    • Investigations are still on-going, so those who exploited but haven’t publicly admitted their guilt should probably do so here. [r]

Community Content

Below is a list of content created recently by the RIFT community!

  • Rift Reforged Podcast Ep 25 [Video]. The latest episode of Rift Reforged’s podcast is up both on the iTunes store and as recorded video on Twitch. Rift Reforged goes over the latest Rift news, some lore, specs and more every Thursday. You can check out the recorded video here.
    • Be sure to tune in to Rift Reforged next week as they bring in special guest, RIFT Game Director Archonix.
  • Power of Nightmares [Addon]. DigitalEnSnare has uploaded a new addon for RIFT which will track all currently open Nightmare Rifts with rank, zone and shard information. The way it works is that when a user opens their map, the addon detects any Nightmare Rifts on that map and broadcasts it to all users. Check it out here!
