Trion had their 13th February 2015 Friday Livestream with Livestreamer “Cole” Marshall, Senior Gameplay Engineer Dan “Snedhepl” Hollinger, Game Director Christopher “Archonix” Junior and Live Content Designer Michael “Kerilar” Hansen.

As always, everything can be subject to change prior to the content hitting Live.

Attractor Minions

New on the Minions front are special ‘Attractor Minions’. These have a magnet icon in the top-right of their card.

If you speak to Stofie at (12759, 11567) in Tempest Bay and choose the chat options -> “I’d like to learn about Minions.” -> “Adventure and Minions” -> “Attractor Minions” she has been mentioning these new types of minions for a while.

Attractor Minions

Attractor Minions

  • Attractor Minions will attract new adventures that are tied to the minion. They will be added to your deck. This adds some customization of your deck.
  • You cannot get these specific adventures unless you have the specific Attractor Minion in your active minion/adventure slot.
  • Hovering over the Magnet icon will provide a tooltip that will tell you how many adventures the Attractor Minion opens up.
  • Attractor Minions start off with unlocking 1 adventure to each deck, but as you level them up/use them more, they’ll increase to 2 adventures per deck.
  • There’s also event-specific Attractor Minions which attract event-specific adventures, such as Minion Card: Archaeologist Herim.

Attractor Minions are coming into the game next Wednesday. No details on how to obtain them.

Note: Notice in the Jineth flavor text that it states “Enables new Artifact missions, while on a mission, during Arclight Infiltration”. The ‘Arclight Infiltration’ is likely the new Promo Week Event coming next week that will introduce the Arclight/Storm Legion Lifter mounts. This is different from the Arclight Rider mount Promo Week, which is from the ‘Arclight Ascendency‘ Promo Week. More on that below.

A new Arclight Infiltration Promo Week will be appearing next week (Thursday, 3:30PM Server Time) that introduces the new Arclight Lifter and Storm Legion Lifter mounts! These mounts are the mount_disc mounts datamined previously.

I was able to catch Kerilar on the PTS during the livestream and inspect his mount. It seems the mounts are:

  • Amphibious
  • 155% mount speed or matches your fastest mount speed.

Archonix mentioned during the Livestream that there’s a 90% chance the mounts will come amphibious – not sure if he didn’t know whether they were Amphibious, or it’s still being considered whether or not to keep it amphibious.

Trion showed off a video that will promote the new mounts. You’ll probably see this on the RIFT’s Youtube Channel next week.

Below you can find images to both mounts as Kerilar posed for the camera:

Wasn’t able to capture its underside, but the datamined skin shows it’s a Sting/Manta Ray:

It has a blue vfx trail at the back. ‘Jumps’ pretty high too.

Although not shown in the above image, the Storm Legion Lifter mount has a medium-sized orb in the middle of its underside.

How To Obtain Lifter Mounts

The Arclight Lifter and Storm Legion Lifter mounts will be available during what is assumed to be called Arclight Infiltration Promo Week. This will launch next week on Thursday, 19th February 2015 at 3:30PM Server Time.

Trion announced during the livestream that:

  • Arclight Lifter mount will be sold directly on the RIFT Store for 4,500 Credits (4,050 for Patrons).
  • Storm Legion Lifter mount will be in a lockbox.

As with other Promo Weeks, there will probably be daily quests that reward currency which you can collect as you work your way towards obtaining one of these mounts from the PRI Quartermaster.

Crafting Additions

A few additions to crafting will be added in with next week’s hotfix:

  • New craftable Trinkets with several upgrade paths and trinket procs similar to Expert trinkets.
    • On the PTS they have the trinkets, but only 2 upgrade paths instead of the 4 Archonix mentioned.
    • Archonix mentioned that, starting from the 2nd-last upgrade, the trinkets will have procs. However, the first procs appear at the final upgrade and the procs are half-Expert-level which suggests that the full upgrade paths aren’t up on PTS yet.
    • Trinkets will be craftable across the various professions and recipes are bought from the respective Craft Trainer with gold/platinum.
  • Crafted items are getting two more tiers of upgrades. Archonix stated that the final upgrade will be on a similar tier to Dreambreaker (PvP-dropped) gear.
  • 30-Slot Craftable Bag for Outfitters. Morticus previously mentioned they were Unique Equip.
  • Dream Weaver Daily. Dream Weavers will get a daily that you can obtain from the crafting daily NPC at Choreburg in Draumheim.
  • Feedback. Some of these changes are up on the PTS. Please provide feedback via the feedback report system in-game.

Full details and screenshots of each new crafted item that is currently on the PTS can be found here.

Expert Gear Upgrade

Example Nameless Gear Upgrade

Example Nameless Gear Upgrade

A new tier of upgrades is up on the PTS for Expert Gear on the RIFT Store -> Equipment -> Armor and Weapons. They are on the same level as the latest boosts to Dreambreaker gear.

They cost Abyssal Crusader’s Accelerators and the associated Advanced Amender to upgrade.

  • Gloves/Belt/Boots – 9x Abyssal Crusader’s Accelerators + associated Advanced Amender.
  • Shoulders/Helm – 12x Abyssal Crusader’s Accelerators + associated Advanced Amender.
  • Chest/Legs – 15x Abyssal Crusader’s Accelerators + associated Advanced Amender.
  • 1h/oh/shield – 15x Abyssal Crusader’s Accelerators
  • 2h – 27x Abyssal Crusader’s Accelerators

The Expert-dropped gear also has a new upgrade tier, so you might want to hold on to some of your Expert gear. Here’s some examples:

It doesn’t look like Expert-dropped weapons got an upgrade; or at least my old Cleric weapons on the PTS copy of my char does not have upgrade paths.

Misc. Info

  • Trion At PAX. Ocho hinted that they’ll be “somewhere in the East Coast next month”. Although they didn’t confirm it in the RIFT livestream, the ArcheAge devs already gave it away in their livestream held prior to the RIFT livestream. They confirmed they are going to PAX East, which is being held from March 6-8th 2015. Keep an eye out for any juicy announcements at PAX East. The last time they were at PAX they announced NT, ArcheAge major patch, Defiance major patch and Trove closed beta dates and gave a bunch of interviews for the NT expansion.
  • Don’t Exploit. Public announcement from Archonix: “Don’t exploit, it sucks”. Referring to this thread here. Investigations are still on-going although they have banned a few players already.
    • Just the ‘clean-up’ has cost Trion at least a day and a half of dev time for 4-5 staff. Doesn’t include CS/GM time involvement so this is not a ‘victimless crime’.
