RIFT news tidbits for 13th Feb 2015.

• Valentine’s Day RIFT Store items are up on the RIFT Store: Lovely Budgie Mount, Love Bug vfx, flower weapons and Exceptionally Pink Dye. Will last until next reset.

General

• Livestream Summary 13th Feb 2015. Trion held a RIFT livestream revealing Attractor Minions, various Crafting additions (Trinkets, gear upgrades, 30-slot bag), new Arclight Lifter and Storm Legion Lifter mounts, and a new upgrade tier for Experts. More info and screenshots here.

• Trion at PAX East. During the ArcheAge livestream earlier in the day, the livestreamers revealed that Trion will be heading to PAX East.
  • PAX East is being held on March 6th-8th 2015 in Boston, MA.
  • Panel: Trion’s Lead Designer Andrew Krausnick will be a panelist at the “MMORPG.com – Future of Online Games” panel on Friday 6th March from 7-9PM at the Dragonfly Theatre.
  • In the past (2013, 2014) Trion have held livestreams, interviews and a PAX Party at a nearby bar for RIFT players and devs to mingle. Last year they announced launch dates for RIFT’s Nightmare Tide, ArcheAge’s Aurora update, Defiance major update and Trove Closed Beta.
  • No clue if Trion has any announcements planned for PAX East this year, but be sure to keep an eye out next month!

• Outfitter Amender. The new Outfitter Amender recipes do not require bolts of Diaphanous Cloth. This will be changed. [r]

• French Earrings Bug. All Artificer earring recipes have the same name with crafted earrings not having a name at all. Trion are aware of the issue and looking to fix it. [r]

• Transformation Greaters Change. The Greater Essences that have a transformation proc currently don’t work properly. This will be changed to the following:
  • “Your Critical Hits have a chance to transform you into a Nightmarish Fiend. When you transform, your next 7 damaging Single-Target abilities deal an additional 1701 Ethereal damage. If an additional Nightmare Tide Greater Essence is equipped, the number of affected abilities is increased by 3.” – Red Hawk.
  • Internal Cooldown is now 50 seconds. ~20% up-time with synergy bonus. [r] The ICD is 50secs regardless of how long it takes for you to consume the stacks of the buff. [r]

• Trion is reviewing Essences to make them more standardized (in terms of performance) and reliable (in their procs). If you feel your Greater Essence has any issues, shoot Red Hawk a PM. [r]

• Further on Exploits. CM Ocho has posted a lengthy bit about the recent exploits. [r] Briefly:
  • A final determination on how to handle each of the exploiters’ accounts has not been made yet.
  • Exploiting harms other players as it takes dev/CS/GM time away from producing new content for RIFT and/or addressing other players’ support tickets. “This specific exploit has taken thousands if not tens of thousands of dollars of our resources to address”.
  • Please do not attack the exploiters.
  • Also, exploiters who admit their guild publicly but later troll on the subject will have their apology deleted and their account “actions appropriately”.

• An ordinary day [Dimensions]. So you want more Trion to add more NPCs to dimensions? They’ve added a few with the recent Chronicle: Rhen of Fate achievement rewards, but perhaps that’s not enough. Why not create your own? That’s what Carrla@Zaviel has done in “A ordinary day” dimension – dogs, dragonians, fishermen, local townfolk and even children! Yes, children! In Telera!
