PTS Update 13th February 2015

RIFT’s Public Test Shard (‘PTS’) was updated on the 13th of February 2015 with an approx. 800MB update.

PTS Datamining for this update includes the ‘Hot Rod’ Arclight Rider Mount and more Carnival 2015 items. You can check them out here.

Summary:

• Expert Gear Upgrade. RIFT Store Armor/Weapons and Dungeon-dropped Armor has new upgrade tier.
• Crafting Additions. Dream Weaver Daily; Craftable Trinkets; ‘Skip’ Recipes.
• Misc. Info. ‘I’m Stuck’ button and Combat Pet Skin Preview Fixed!

Expert Gear Upgrade

A large amount of Abyssal Crusader (Expert Dungeon) gear has a new upgrade tier now available on the PTS. Upgrades are available for armor and weapons from the RIFT Store as well as from armor dropped in expert dungeons.

Compare the new upgrades with your current gear – some might be better than certain Raid-dropped gear (in terms of base stats like INT, WIS, SP, SC and CP).

Abyssal Crusader Armor Upgrades

Below you can find images showing all RIFT Store Abyssal Crusader armor upgrades. Comparisons are shown between the 1st upgrade (Faceless) and the new, 2nd upgrade (Nameless).

The new upgrade requires:

• Gloves/Belt/Boots – 9x Abyssal Crusader’s Accelerators + associated Advanced Amender
• Shoulders/Helm – 12x Abyssal Crusader’s Accelerators + associated Advanced Amender
• Chest/Legs – 15x Abyssal Crusader’s Accelerators + associated Advanced Amender

The associated Advanced Amender is Advanced Metal Amender for Warriors/Clerics and Advanced Textile Amender for Rogues/Mages.

Crafting Additions

A few additions to crafting will be coming with next week’s hotfix:

• Dream Weaver Daily
• Trinkets
• ‘Skip’ Recipes

Dream Weaver Daily

A new Dream Weaver daily will appear with next week’s hotfix. Rewards the usual daily marks from the Craft Daily NPC at Choreburg in Margle Palace.

Craftable Trinkets

Trinkets will be craftable for the first time in RIFT’s history. Each major Crafting profession can either craft the Trinkets or produce new crafting materials required to upgrade/make the trinkets.

Base Level 65 Trinkets

• Glowing Remnant of Aedraxis [Outfitter]
• Good Crucia Scale [Armorsmith]
• Accursed Talon of Izbithu [Armorsmith]
• Tasuil’s Divine Dog Tag [Weaponsmith]
• Divine Hammer Fragment of Saint Carwin [Artificer]
• Empowered Messenger Tear [Runecrafter]
• Vial of Shikolec Elements [Apothecary]
• Twisted Nightmare Fractal [Apothecary]

Note that there’s two recipes you can purchase from each Craft Trainer – one is a Level 60 trinket and the other is a Level 65 trinket.

The Level 60 trinket will upgrade to the Level 65 trinket. Therefore, if you aren’t interested in a Level 60 trinket you can just skip that recipe and go straight for the ones mentioned above.

According to Archonix these have expert-level procs, although you can decide for yourself how good or bad the procs are below:

Crafted materials like the ‘Hazy/Surreal Dreams’ come from Dream Weaver whilst the Solutions come from Apothecary.

‘Skip’ Recipes

There’s a whole bunch of what I call ‘skip’ recipes. They are basically the 1st upgrade of most crafted gear. You basically skip the Level 60-64 base recipe and go straight to the 1st upgrade. However, the ingredients still include the base recipe and upgrade component.

This is included for all major Crafting professions that craft armor/weapons, found at their respective Craft Trainer.

Misc. Info

A few misc. info with the latest PTS Update:

• Combat Pet Skin Preview Fixed. The previews for the combat pet skins found on the RIFT Store -> Pets -> Combat Pet Skins is now back up. They do not show up on Live.

• I’M STUCK Button. The “I’m Stuck” button is back up, now on the main Help menu.
