Steam is celebrating RIFT’s 4th Anniversary with a “Steam Anniversary Gift Pack” with plenty of goodies for those who launch RIFT via the Steam client.
(Thanks to Ahmtur on /r/Rift for the info!)
The Gift Pack contains:
- 3-day Patron Pass;
- C-Cap Tactical Shell (helm costume; Steam-exclusive);
- Well Spun Hat (helm costume);
- 1x Minion Card: Quetzie (Air-only attribute; also available in RIFT Store -> Pets -> Minions for 1 plat);
- 2x Transcendent Experiance Vials (160% Exp Boost);
- 2x Transcendent Notoriety Vials (160% Notoriety Boost).
The in-game items apply to all characters on your account.

C-Cap Tactical Shell and Well Spun Hat
How to Obtain:
To obtain this pack, you must have RIFT on your Steam account. Then, go to your Steam Library, right-click RIFT and select “CD Key”. There should be a “RIFT: 4th Anniversary Gift” Code that you can then apply to your account via Trion’s Apply Code page.
(Thanks to cupperoni for the info!)
I have also read that you can simply launch RIFT via Steam and it will automatically apply the code to your account.
You should then receive the gift in your in-game mail. You may need to relog on your character or wait a while for the pack to be sent to your in-game mail.
Troubleshooting:
- If your code isn’t working, check that it hasn’t already been applied.
- If your code still doesn’t work, check that you have copy-pasted it correctly and there’s no extra spaces or extra characters/numbers accidentally typed in.
- If you can’t see a code in Steam -> Rift -> CD Key, check that it hasn’t already been automatically applied to your account via Trion’s Apply Code page.
Non-Steam RIFT
If you do not have RIFT on Steam, but still have the Steam client, there’s a potential work-around to obtaining the key that Athanil has discovered:
Just wanted to inform everyone that it is possible to obtain this without having rift installed via steam, you need steam however. You just go into the steam store and pretend that you want to install rift, once it’s begun downloading you can access the “CD Key” and enter it at Trion’s webpage, and then you can cancel the steam download of rift, also making it disappear from your library. Worked perfectly fine for me.
Thanks to Athanil for the info!
This method might not work for everyone, but some players might be able to get it to work. My guess is that those players who previously ‘purchased’ (i.e. started the download) for RIFT via Steam would be included and get a CD key. The cut-off was probably somewhere around 1st March.
Note: There’s probably a ‘cut-off’ date for when the codes will no longer be available so at some point, even downloading the entire game via Steam probably won’t give you a code.
Hope you enjoy your RIFT 4th Anniversary Steam Gift Pack!
Awesome gift
The well spun hat isn’t Steam exclusive. It was givin away before in Team Fortress. I’ve had one for a couple years now.
Thanks for the info Raki! I’ll edit that part out.
Where is the CD-Key button?I go to my Steam Library, right-click RIFT,but can’t find cd-key,only DCL and other
If that option isn’t available to you, have you tried logging into the game via Steam and checking your Apply Code page? It might have automatically been applied.
There is also a minion who sneaks in with your others. It wasn’t attached to the in-game mail and no mention of it in any chat spew that I saw, it just appears there. You can see the card on my post here: http://nazzir.blogspot.com/2015/03/4th-anniversary-surprise.html It’s nothing grand, just an air minion, but I’m not going to complain.
Ah, Quetzie – it’s the Air minion that you can get for 1 plat from the RIFT Store. Thanks for the info! I’ll add that in.
I launched the rift through Steam, but I do not have anything
Did you just add it as a Non-Steam Game shortcut, or did you have RIFT installed through Steam? If you don’t see a CD Key option, try checking if there is a DLC option when you right-click. If not, check your RIFT account page on the RIFT website to see if your Redemption/Apply Code Page has the code already applied.
Some players have reported needing to copy-paste the CD Key; others simply launched RIFT via Steam (and thus launched Glyph via Steam) and Steam notified them that their code was automatically applied.

Wow, thanks for the info Athanil! That’s definitely a good work-around! I’ve added your method to the article 😀
It doesn’t work for me (don’t get a “CD Key”) option, but it might work for others.
Kinda wish this gave you access to some of the original classes, hate how warrior only has two types now even though it used to have around 4-5, its annoying how stuff that used to not be DLC is now DLC……
