RIFT: 3.2 Wardrobe Update

Senior UI Artist Amber “Gingers” Alexander has posted up an article on the RIFT website detailing the upcoming wardrobe changes in RIFT 3.2: Echoes of Madness.

Briefly:

• Collection. You will now collect appearances simply by having an item added to your inventory/bank. Afterwards you can do whatever you want with the original item.

• Wardrobe Set Renaming. You can now rename your wardrobe sets! You can still use “/wardrobe #” command to bring up that wardrobe set.

• Wardrobe Slot Selection. Each slot in your wardrobe now brings up a ‘selection’ window where you can select from all your collected appearances.

• Dye Buckets. A new dye system is in place with unlimited-use dyes. Simply click on a dye slot next to your wardrobe slot and it will dye that slot, not the item.

• Single-use Dyes. Single-use Dyes are not going away. Instead, you can choose whether to apply the dye to the item (for your Character tab/gear), or to the Wardrobe slot (under Wardrobe Tab).

• Paint Brush vs Paint Bucket Mode. Paint Brush Mode will allow you to only dye the slot you have selected. Paint Bucket allows you to dye all slots. Thus if you just want everything to be black, it’ll do that for you.

• Weapon Wardrobe. You can now collect weapon appearances and add them to your wardrobe sets. There are slots for all available weapons for your class. When you use a 1h+oh, it will show the 1h+oh wardrobe appearances. If you switch to a 2hander, it’ll show the 2hand wardrobe appearance.

• Favorites. You can mark collected appearances/dyes as favorites by right-clicking them. This will make them appear at the top of the UI. Favorites are character-specific.

• Set Collections. You will be able to collect wardrobe sets just like collecting artifact sets. New achievements will be available for unlocking sets and dye buckets. ETA is some time after 3.2 launch.

Cost of Wardrobe System

The new additions cost you nothing, except for unlimited dyes. You can still use your single-use dyes if you want, and a very limited set of unlimited dyes will be available for free. Other unlimited dyes will cost Credits.

Wardrobe collections are region-wide, whilst Dye Bucket unlimited dye unlocks are account-wide unlocks.

Transition

When 3.2 hits, the system will go through your inventory, bank and wardrobe and automagically unlock all those appearances that you have. For items in your wardrobe sets, they’ll be mailed back to you. The data for your existing wardrobe sets will remain in the new wardrobe sets.

New Loyalty Tier

Gingers also teased that there’s a new loyalty tier coming!
