RIFT news tidbits for 30th March 2015.

Further 3.2 Wardrobe System Info

Recently Gingers was able to provide some further information about the upcoming RIFT 3.2 Wardrobe System:

• As players have noted, there will be some instances where you can benefit from purchasing and then returning gear to the RIFT Store. Credit items won’t work (since they can’t be refunded), but gear that costs other currencies have this trait. It is possible to collect appearances this way.

• Wardrobe Bundles will likely remain as physical items, although Gingers was not 100% sure.

• Gingers would like to add tooltips on gear to inform players if they have collected an item’s appearance or not. It will be similar to the artifacts collected/uncollected text. This has not been coded in yet.

• Dyes on wardrobe sets are tied to each wardrobe slot. If you empty a wardrobe slot, the dye colors that were attached to that wardrobe slot will not display. This means if you want to display your actual equipped gear instead of a wardrobe appearance, the dye colors you see on that equipped gear will be the colors applied to that gear.

• Right-clicking a dye slot will make it empty so that the original, default color of the wardrobe appearance for that wardrobe slot will appear instead.

Trion hopes to add the new wardrobe system to the PTS soon so players can test it out.

General

• New Warfront Teased. During last week’s livestream, Trion briefly showed (perhaps by accident) a new warfront: “Hive Kaaz’Gfuu Assault”. No other information available, but you can check out some speculation here.

• Dimension Suggestions. Morticus is taking suggestions for new Dimensions that will be coming with Patch 3.3. Check out his thread here to post your suggestions. There’s already a few on his list for 3.3:
  • Solstice Tower
  • Hailol
  • Luminous Passage
  • Cathedral of Canus
  • Ghar Station Mem
  • Ghar Station Tau
  • Temple of Ranri
  • Port Scuddra
  • Temple of Aia

• More Dimension Sky Projectors. Morticus has stated that he will look into adding more Sky Projectors suggested by the playerbase. [r] The skies include the one over Mount Sharax, Tarken Glacier (non-Sharax version) and the sky above Fortune’s Shore. You can check out screenshots of these skies here.

• Tasuil Adventure Chain. Snedhepl has been looking at suggestions for how to change the repeatable Tasuil minion adventure chain due to player feedback about the repeatable chain. He is currently leaning towards making chain advancement occur after you claim the previous adventure in the chain, rather than when it completes. Post your feedback here.

• Trove Pirate Class Giveaway Celebration [Contest]. Kiwi is holding a special giveaway for Trove including several Pirate Class unlocks, Stormcaller Wings, mounts and costumes. She will also be leveling up to 20 when the upcoming Trove ‘Fish n Ships’ update hits on March 31st. Check out full details here!
  • (Yes, this isn’t directly RIFT-related. However, if you’re looking to level up a Trove character to 20 for RIFT’s Vox Budgie Mount promo, now’s a good time to do so!)

• New Parser. Bitnine is working on a new Parser specifically for RIFT called “eRekt” which will track everything from ability use to overall dps/hps for each raid member. There will also be buff tracking, graphs and even data customization so you can specifically check if raid members are failing particular mechanics. Still a WIP, but Bitnine has a very nice overview of his parser that you can check out here. He is open to feedback/suggestions for future additions.

• Black Arclight Rider Mount. Rage09 on the RIFT Forums has discovered that the Arclight Rider Mount is prone to the dye bug where your mount’s color matches your hair color. Check it out here – hopefully Trion comes out with something similar in the future!

• Make The Voices In My Head Stop! [Video][PvP]. Grim uploads his latest PvP video, featuring his Warrior in a Paragon PvP build. Check out his latest match in the Blighted Antechamber!

• State of PvP in March 2015 [Video][PvP]. Grim has uploaded his monthly “State of PvP” for RIFT. Grim goes over PvP-related news since February, some bugs/mistakes made by Trion with recent additions and reflects on the viability of current specs in PvP. Check out his video here.

• King Eckas Shipyard Dock #2 [Dimension]. Feendish over at DTC takes a tour of Terlava@Hailol’s “King Eckas Shipyard Dock #2”.  Stargates, ships and a shipyard. Some pretty interesting contraptions and details woven into the dimension. Check out a preview here!
