RIFT news tidbits for 7th April 2015.

General

• Event: PTS Conquest Playtest. I reminder that the Conquest Playtest on the Public Test Shard is having tomorrow on Wednesday, 8th April 2015 at 3PM PDT. Come test out the new 5-man premade group restriction. [r]
  • If you are getting an ‘MSCVP120.dll missing’ error on the PTS, you will need to download the Visual C++ Redistributable Package for Visual Studio 2013 from Microsoft’s website here. Be sure to download vcredist_x86.exe. Download the x86 even if you are running a 64-bit Operating System. Run the .exe, install and that should allow you to launch the PTS client again.

• Infinity Gate Sound Bug. Trion will be taking a look at the sound bug where you can constantly hear the Infinity Gate in various Mathosia zones near Shimmersand. [r]

• Warfront Matchmaking – Additional Info. CM Ocho has posted an addition to yesterday’s post about matchmaking: The matchmaker will attempt to balance players who are on a losing streak between two teams so that about half will get a win. [r]

• Snow VFX Issues. The new dimension items on the PTS that add snow/blizzard into your dimension have run into an issue – weather-blocking items don’t work on them. Unfortunately this is something you will have to live with until an engineer or technical artist can look at how these two items work together. [r]

• River of Souls Sky Projector Issues. The River of Souls Sky Projector does not work well in a flat, large dimension like the Anywhere dimension because the original sky was meant to be used in areas where you cannot see the edge. [r]
