RIFT news tidbits for 14th April 2015.
General
- Notice: Preparing for the 3.2 Patch. There’s still some time left before the patch! What should you hold off on doing, save or scoop up asap? Briefly:
- Hold off on turning in daily/weekly quests that you pick up after 4AM server time on Wednesday as after the patch there will Fragments of Madness rewarded.
- Save your marks and don’t spend them so you can get wardrobe appearances.
- Save your marks for Tier 1 store-bought weapons for the Hit.
- Hold off on opening boxes of any sort. Some might get updated after patch.
- Complete Conquest weeklies (but don’t turn in) between 4am server time and patch, just in case the 5-man CQ premade and no-5min-timer-join restrictions are added.
- Check out full info here!
- MSCVP120.dll Missing Error. Something that cropped up on the PTS was a ‘MSCVP120.dll missing’ error. This might end up being a problem that pops up when you update to RIFT 3.2: Echoes of Madness.
- If that’s the case, you will need to download the Visual C++ Redistributable Package for Visual Studio 2013 from Microsoft’s website here.
- Be sure to download vcredist_x86.exe. Download the x86 even if you are running a 64-bit Operating System. Run the .exe, install and that should allow you to launch the client again.
- Some IA Titles Delayed. Some of the zone IA titles will default to the Freemarch surname when 3.2 hits. This will be fixed in next week’s hotfix. The surnames are: [r]
- Cape Jule – Falls
- Ardent Domain – Thorn
- Ashora – Wall
- Eastern Holdings – Bunker
- Kingsward – King
- Pelladane – Ewe (female) or Ram (male)
- If you haven’t been following information on the IA title rewards, Tacitus has re-posted the information here.
- Tier 2 procs. Tier 2 procs on the PTS should be updated to their correct versions based on player feedback. [r]
- Karthan Ridge Summoning Change. When 3.2 hits you will no longer be able to use “summoning abilities” from the starting areas of Karthan Ridge. This means pull and other similar abilities that force enemies into your starting area (which subsequently causes them to port back to their starting spot). If it works as intended, Trion will push this change out to other warfronts as well. [r]
Community Content
Below is a list of content created recently by the RIFT community!
- NT Progression Spreadsheet [Raid]. With 3.2 just around the corner, it’s a good time to remind players that Sedvick has an NT Progression Spreadsheet. If you have downed bosses in Tier 1, be sure to add your guild to the ranking. HK awaits! You can also check out his thread here.
- Daddy’s Dive – Rapture [Dimension]. Seyler over at the Dimension Touring Company takes a tour of Marlynielle@Faeblight’s “Daddy’s Dive – Rapture”. As you can probably guess, the dimension is themed on the underwater city in Bioshock, Rapture. There’s a lot of detail in this dimension and plenty of interesting posters and wall decor. Check out a preview here!
- Tips and Tricks: Modify, Schmodify [Dimension]. Feendish over at DTC has posted up her latest Tips and Tricks with some tips on modifying existing dimension sets. Check it out here!
