RIFT news tidbits for 17th April 2015.

Patch 3.2 Information

Even more stuff related to post-3.2 patch.

General

  • Mouse Imprecision. With the latest patch you might be having trouble selecting things in-game. Go to Settings -> Video and check “Lock Window Size” and this should fix the issue.
  • Dancing Bug. The female Dwarf’s /dance animation has been cut in half. Also, the ‘Goose’ companion pet has stopped dancing. Known issue. [r]

Crafting

  • Fishing Dailies Payout Increase. Morticus has announced that the two new NT fishing dailies that require store-bought mats will pay out higher marks. No details. ETA: Next week. [r]
  • Fishing Pole/Seer Lure Recipe Change. The recipes for Kondraum’s Fishing Pole and Seer Lure has a recipe change. The store-bought-reagent component of the recipe only requires a single reagent. Change will hit with next week’s hotfix. [r]
    • Quest: Atragarian Fishing will no longer consume Atragarian Fishing Pole so you don’t have to craft the pole twice. ETA: Next week. [r]
  • Sparkly Pole. The new pole sparkles and has vfx when you fish. However, it only seems to do so in Tarken Glacier. Morticus will take a look at this. [r]
  • Enduring/Timed Magnetic Lure Fix. With next week’s hotfix, Enduring and Timed Magnetic Lures will last 10min again. [r]
  • Congealed Dreams Recipe Change. The apothecary version of the Craft weekly’s Congealed Dreams recipe will have its Sarleaf Extract requirement reduced from 65 to 35. ETA: Next week. [r]
  • Recipe Location Fix. Some earring recipes are appearing in the ‘potions’ category in your craft window. These will be fixed with next week’s hotfix. [r]
  • Thalcrystal Earring Stat Fix. The stats on earrings that accidentally received reduced endurance stats with the 3.2 patch will be reverted in next week’s hotfix. [r]

PvP

  • About ELO System. CM Ocho has provided further explanation about the ELO System. He explains that the old ‘weighted ELO’ system which took account of your dmg/heals has no impact on your current ELO score. He also added that Trion has always tracked both your weighted ELO (old system) and your raw ELO (current system). [r]
    • Also, Trion is unlikely to reset ELO.

3.2 Wardrobe

  • Tooltips/Indicators for Appearance Collection. Gingers has confirmed that Trion is working on adding additional tooltips to tell you when you’ve already collected an appearance, and also an indicator on the screen when you unlock a new look. [r]

You can find out further information about 3.2 Wardrobe here.

Minion Cards: Kepple and Sienna

RIFT 3.2 patch notes stated that Kepple and Sienna minion cards received flavor text. I think this was Snedhepl’s way of pointing out a minion we haven’t gotten.

Minion Card: Sienna

  • Sienna has been found before and is obtained as a random chance drop from Marauder’s Supply Caches that are gained from winning warfronts.
  • Sienna now has the flavor text: “Didn’t get the missions she wanted, SPENDS ALL HER AVENTURINE ON EXPERIENCE MISSIONS!”. This clearly seems to be an ‘Insanity Wolf’ meme-style flavor text. Probably not a coincidence that she’s a wolf:

Minion Card: Kepple

We don’t know where Kepple is obtained from. It is not in Magelo’s database. A few tidbits:

  • There’s a Kepple mob (location unknown) according to Magelo. No idea where you could find this mob.
  • There’s also a Kepple companion pet. The companion pet has a hellbug icon, but is actually an ant. The only ant mobs I can recall are the ones in the south-west corner of Droughtlands at the ant hill/tunnels.

If anyone has obtained the Minion Card: Kepple or has any ideas/speculation, please either post a comment below, contact me or post in this thread here.

(Thanks to Turntablist@Greybriar for the info about the cards in this week’s patch notes!)

General

  • Arclight Ascendancy Promo Week. The Arclight Ascendancy Promo Week is back for this reset week until 3:30PM server time on 23rd April 2015! There’s a new Crimson Arclight Rider Mount and daily quests. You can check out a guide to the promo week here.
  • Minion Adventure Require Cerulean Steel. PearlJam on the RIFT Forums found an 1m adventure that requires the minion card Cerulean Steel. No ‘chain link’ graphic so probably not part of an adventure chain, but something to look out for just in case it (and perhaps other cards) are needed to trigger something. [r]
    • Cerulean Steel is one of the new Attractor Minions that were added with 3.2. Weaponsmiths craft the card; recipe from RIFT Store -> Crafting -> Weaponsmith -> Minions filter.
  • Mage Update Incoming. Red Hawk has announced that he wrote up a “gigantic Mage Update” but will wait until Monday to post it up on the RIFT Forums so that discussions won’t be buried without him in the office over the weekend. Mages, keep an eye out! [r]
  • Brasse Introduction. Trion’s new Director of Community Relations, Linda “Brasse the Dwarf” Carlson has made her first post on the RIFT forums, explaining her new role and a bit about her experience with RIFT. [r]

great still a skip-able quest, might be different if we had something to spend the crafting marks on…

They’d be useful for the Crafting Weeklies if you have one of the professions that can obtain the quest since you need marks to get the Strands of Draum. But I get what you mean when it comes to Fishing stand-alone. Maybe the 3.3 crafting additions could add some fluff recipes for Fishing that require marks.

No news about a fix for the new “Onslaught” event?
I think it is the general consensus that this is one of the worst designed things in Rift ever.

Haven’t seen anything from the devs about their thoughts on the new onslaughts. It definitely needs a revamp. There’s an on-going feedback on the new NT onslaughts in Kerilar’s thread.

Perhaps we’ll get some info on Monday.
