RIFT news tidbits for 20th April 2015.

Mage Update

Red Hawk has posted up a relatively long thread about the status of Mages. You can find it here.

• More changes coming to Harbinger. Warlock changes priority afterwards. Don’t expect Warlock changes for a while though.
• Stormcaller’s 40pt ‘Storm Locus’ might be changed to only affect Air and Water abilities.
• Red Hawk will attempt to “bring up the skill floor of Mage without bringing down the skill ceiling”.
• No plans to change Pyromancer at this point. [r]

Harbinger Changes

Red Hawk is currently floating some ideas for further potential Harbinger changes. Goal is to have Harbinger be slightly ahead of Pyromancer given 100% uptime:

• Conditioned Response – Increased heal value.
• Healing Reflex – Complete change, likely to increase SP scaling of Air/Life spells.
• Insult to Injury – When shield disperses, will now deal PBAoE damage.
• Planar Shield – When activated before Phase Step, will trigger an ST version of Phase Step that blinks in front of target (rather than behind). Charge cost greatly reduced, but might include short CD. Red Hawk explains the decision to tie these two abilities together here.
• Reaper’s Blade – Increase damage of all Slashing attacks against targets <35% hp. Increase will likely be between 10-20%. The base damage of Reaper’s Blade will be increased to equal Lightning Blade damage.
• Empyrean Ascension – ST attacks will also proc Rending Slash’s debuff on their targets.
• Rending Slash – Red Hawk mentioned that he has no plans of changing the mechanic from a debuff to a buff. [r]

With the change to Stormcaller’s Storm Locus, the Harb’s ST DPS will be adjusted so that it “comes up to the level at which Stormbinger DPS currently resides relative to other specs”.

General

• Dimensions Info.
  • Dimension Boundary Wall Fix. A fix for the green wall that appears in dimension boundaries for those using Low Quality Render graphic settings ‘should’ be up in this week’s hotfix. [r]
  • Dimension Object Issues. Certain dimension items have become invisible since patch 3.2. These include Buttercup Ground Cover, Miniature Impatiens, Chain for Stone Tomb, Small Cart of Hay and Lady Ferns. Trion is aware of the issue. ETA Fix: Next week’s hotfix. [r]

• Minions Info.
  • Cerulean Steel Bug. Adventures that require Cerulean Steel is a bug that will be removed with the next hotfix. [r]
  • Arclight Promo Adventure Adjustment. Looks like the adventures unlocked with the attractor minion: Jineth were not appearing properly. This will be fixed with this week’s hotfix. [r]

• Wardrobe Info.
  • Item/Wardrobe Name. Trion is working on adding the wardrobe name to the physical item’s tooltip to make searching for the appearance easier. [r]
  • AH Wardrobe. No current plans to allow easier searching of the AH for appearances you haven’t collected, but it is something Gingers would like to have in the future. [r]
  • Wardrobe Linking. Not being worked on, but Trion has plans to add the ability to link wardrobe appearances from the wardrobe window and view if you have collected the appearance or not.
  • Weird Rift Graphical Bug. Some players are experiencing a graphical bug where the top of rifts end up being a circle rather than being extended out. A fix ‘should’ be in with this week’s hotfix. [r]

• Elo Drops With Soul Recall. Bitnine on the RIFT forums recorded some of his matches to see the effect of strong vs weak teams had on his Elo. He also confirmed that soul recalling out of a warfront drops your Elo. [r]

• Return to Hammerknell Kill Videos [Video]. The ‘Return to Hammerknell Kill Videos‘ has been updated with a few new kill vids for Murdantix, Matron Zamira, Sicaron, Rune King Molinar and Estrode. I will attempt to have a decent distribution of videos from different roles (tank, heal, melee dps, ranged dps/etc).

• The Pokemon Center [Dimension]. An old but nice dimension, Solaura@Greybriar has a “Pokemon Center” dimension filled with all the buildings you would expect from a Pokemon town. Can you find all the Pokemon? Check out a preview here!

• The continued adventures of random wfs [Video][PvP]. SirSpaceboots has uploaded his latest PvP video in a Karthan Ridge warfront as a Warrior Reaver. Check it out here!
