RIFT’s Public Test Shard (‘PTS’) was updated on the 27-29th May 2015 with small 65.1 and 50.5mb updates respectively.
Patch versions are TEST-302-51-A-1007905 and TEST-302-53-A-1008575.
Summary:
- Class Changes. AoE Healing Range Buff; Tank Threat Buff.
- Intrepid: Gilded Prophecy Testing. Has begun.
- New Wardrobe. Fae finery. Appearance Sets increased from 75 to 76. Boss of the Planes Hat. Also ‘Costume Capes’ = Wings and Backpacks!

As always, everything below is subject to change prior to hitting Live and some things included below may never make it to Live release.
Class Changes
Some changes to certain healing abilities and tank threat is up on the PTS.
Healing Range Buff
Certain AoE healing abilities have had their range increased to 30m. As per Red Hawk’s post:
Cleric – Warden – The following spells have had their AoE Heal effects’ radii increased to 30m:
- Geyser
- Overflowing Renewal
- Orbs of the Tide (Proc effect)
- Healing Flood
- Monsoon
Mage – Chloromancer – The following spells have had their AoE Heal effects’ radii increased to 30m
- Wild Growth
- Flourish
- Withering Vine
Natural Splendor’s healing radius will also be increased in an update coming soon.
Some of these abilities are already 30m, but what the increase refers to is the ‘proc’/’effect’ range of their ability. For instance, Withering Vine is already 30m, but the AoE heal range buff applies to the heal effect on the debuffed target. On Live this is an approx. 7m radius, but this has been increased to 30m on the PTS. [r]

Tanking Threat Buff
The 40pt root ability that all Tank souls have will be getting a change. The threat passive will now increase the tank’s aggro multiplier based upon the Endurance of the tank, rather than via generating the additional aggro through damaging attacks.
This will improve threat generation the better your gear.

Intrepid: Gilded Prophecy Testing
Testing has begun on the upcoming Intrepid: Gilded Prophecy 10-man raid. Achievements popped up last week which included Hard Mode achieves.
If your guild is interested in testing out the raid, please designate a guild representative to post up an application to CM Ocho’s thread here.
Note: There’s currently no physical portal to the instance on the PTS. You’ll need a dev to port you in.
New Wardrobe
Fae Finery
There’s a new set found under the new Appearance Sets tab mentioned last week. This brings total Appearance Sets from 75 to 76.
The Fae Finery is the only set with blank icons, all the rest have their associated outfit’s icon.
Fae Finery Filter PTS
If you go into Character (default key “c“) -> Wardrobe, select a slot and choose “Show Uncollected”, you will be able to find the Fae Finery outfit. Just search “Fae” in the search box and the one without an icon is Fae Finery.

These outfits are most likely slated for Summerfest.

Checking other wardrobe items that didn’t have an icon yet, the “Boss of the Planes Hat” was discovered. This is likely the ‘western hat’ datamined last week.
Costume Capes
A new sub-category has popped up for Wardrobes: “Costume Capes”, found under the Capes slot. 6 new ‘costume capes’ are available – they are all the wings and backpacks datamined in recent days.
These can all be found under Character -> Wardrobe -> Cape slot -> Costume Cape. (You’ll need to have ‘Show Uncollected’ checked to see them).

New Expert: Rhaza’de Canyons
A new expert has appeared in the LFG queue called “Rhaza’de Canyons”.
Did a quick tour of Tarken Glacier just in case it was there but didn’t quite catch an entrance. Trion hasn’t revealed any information in regards to the dungeon, but it could potentially be a dungeon associated with the Planetouched Wilds zone East of Droughtlands that Trion is currently working on.
The dungeon cannot be entered at this time. (Thanks to tagain for the info!)
Tempest Bay NT Quest NPCs
Tempest Bay now has Nightmare Tide daily/weekly quest NPCs!
Location Tempest Bay Nightmare Tide Quest NPCs
NPCs are located right below the Defiant quarters in Tempest Bay.
The NT Quests are:
- NT Raid Rift Daily/Weekly
- NT Zone Event Weekly
- NT Chronicles Dailies
- NT Instant Adventure Weekly
- NT PvP Weeklies
These are no different from the ones in Margle Palace, but it does mean you can choose to come to Tempest Bay instead of going through the often fps-crumbling city of Draumheim.
One thing to note is that there’s no Nightmare Rift NPCs or Onslaught Daily/Weekly NPCs. Although the crafting area in Tempest Bay has NT Dailies, it does not have the NT Weekly NPC. As such, you’ll still need to visit Margle Palace to pick those up.
Dimension Additions
A few dimension changes and additions have been made to items coming in RIFT 3.3.

The Lucky Coin prices for some of the new dimension items coming in 3.3 that are available from the Artifact Vendors have been reduced!
They no longer cost ten arms and three legs!
Dimension Key Size Adjustments
As Morticus mentioned previously, the new dimension keys on the PTS have had their item limits adjusted.
- Octus Monastery max dimension item limit changed to 2,000.
- Mathosian Cascades max dimension item limit changed to 2,000.
- Tempest Island max dimension item limit changed to 2,000. (Thanks to Kiwi Gaming for the info!)
(Unfortunately I’m getting a ‘Teleport Failed’ when trying to view Tulan dimensions.)
New Dimension Items
Even more dimension items are now available on the PTS! These come from notoriety vendors. There’s a couple of items that don’t require notoriety, but cost Void Stones:

Unfortunately the above dimension items are not available for purchase because they require ‘Glorified’ notoriety in various factions and currently our highest notoriety is ‘Revered’ which is a tier below Glorified.
This does mean we’re getting a new tier of notoriety for Nightmare Tide factions though!

The notoriety-required items require either Glorified or Revered in respective factions. They cost platinum, from 30g for some of the biomes to 150p for the Akylios Statue Spread.
These can all be found at various notoriety vendors in the Plane of Water.
You can also check them out at the bottom floor of Markopie’s Octus Monastery dimension on the PTS. Just jump off the platform you appear on and you’ll get to the frozen lake below.
New Notoriety Tier
Thanks to the notoriety requirements for some of the new dimension items coming to the game in 3.3, we now know that the Nightmare Tide factions will increase their notoriety cap from Revered (current) to Glorified (PTS).
Morticus has confirmed that the ‘Glorified’ requirement on some of the 3.3 dimension items is a bug and that Trion has “no plans to add in new tiers of notoriety”. [r]
Other Info
A couple of other additions to the PTS:
- Bundle Adjustment. Swimsuits are now located just below ‘Acolyte’s Bundle’ under RIFT Store -> Wardrobe when viewing without any sorting. This is probably to make it more prominent on the store during the Summer season.
- ‘Locked’ Items Disappear. Items which are ‘locked’ on the RIFT Store no longer show up. These are mainly for items that are one-time, account-wide purchases like Souls, Warfront Announcers and Portraits.
A couple of new items. Biggest being the new Expert dungeon “Rhaza’de Canyons”. The dimension lucky coin adjustments are a nice change and Tempest Bay NT Quest NPCs are up as per players’ request.

The lucky coin rewards look much more reasonable now than they did. I knew I should have jumped on the PTS when I saw it had updated, but I didn’t have time.
And I thought Glorified came after Revered? I had wondered when they would raise the Notoriety caps. Either way, I’ll be stockpiling my Commendation Marks from zone events for sure.

My Tempest Island is maxed at 2000 on Kiwipts and getting same teleport fail, copied new character and bought again still fail. Will put on PTS thread also. Cheers mate.

If you go to a wardrobe slot, check the show uncollected box and search around you will find the Fae Finery set pieces and can preview it on your toon. The female version does appear to straight up be the cleric fairy pet outfit.
Thanks for the info Elyssinia! It looks rather interesting, although the amount of bare skin on both male and female outfits makes the outfits seem kind of ‘awkward’.

Tried entering Rhaza’de Canyons with a group today. You can’t enter it yet and will be teleported to Meridian/Sanctum. Chat says: “You have been blocked from entering Rhaza’de Canyons with your group.”
Thanks for the info! A shame, but kind of expected it since “Rhaza’de” seems Bahmi-related, and some artifacts related to Meridian/Freemarch have ‘Rhaza’de’ as part of their artifact name (if you search “Rhaza’de” in artifact search window). So kind of expected to be in the Planetouched Wilds, which is blocked off.

Thanks for the screenshot Boase! Oh wow, that must have been added in fairly recently. I started a new section in my spreadsheet for no. of each wardrobe items on the 29th May and it didn’t have ‘Costume Cape’ category at the time. 2 wings and 4 backpacks!
And I agree, the wings do look a little smaller than I expected.
I hope they make the wings closer to a proper size, otherwise my dreams of having wings are shattered 😦
I hope the increase in notoriety will also give us access to some usefull items instead of all this dimension fluff (sorry but im not a dimensioneer).
I wonder when they’ll introduce NMR7s. Introducing NMR7s and an increase in notoriety tier would probably be a good precursor to introducing T2 essences.
I’m pretty sure dimensions are pretty important for trion. There is a trend for creativity games like minecraft, eq next, even trove. dimensions are pretty much the same, and they seem to be pretty popular, so I would expect that department to be really active – that group is very likely to invest longterm in game and put money into it.
I’m not dimensioneer either, but as long as balance is there, and nondimensioneers get something aswell (nmr7, some new open world content, raids/dungeons), i’m happy.
