Trion had their 10th July 2015 Friday Livestream with Community Manager Eric “Ocho” Cleaver, Dungeon Designer Dev Marko “Epsiry” Sohrakoff, Game Director Christopher “Archonix” Junior and Game Designer Haley “Anony” Chivers.

Table of Contents:

  • Easy/Hard Modes
  • Intrepid: Gilded Prophecy
  • Patch 3.3 Next Week
  • Conventions + Future Content
  • Livestream Giveaways

As always, everything can be subject to change prior to the content hitting Live.

Easy/Hard Modes

Easy and Hard Mode Rhen of Fate Toggle PTS

Blue or Red Pill?

First up a quick overview of the Easy/Hard Modes coming in 3.3.

  • Intrepid: Gilded Prophecy and Rhen of Fate will get Easy and Hard Mode toggles. There’s still Normal Mode.
  • Hard Mode bosses have +25% HP and +25% damage dealt compared to Normal Mode.
  • Easy Mode bosses have -25% HP and -25% damage dealt compared to Normal Mode.

It’s possible to do Easy Mode Intrepid: Gilded Prophecy with only 1,150 Hit. You’ll miss every now and then, but the decreased dps requirements means you don’t necessarily have to have 1,200 Hit.

Easy/Hard Mode Loot

Setting Easy or Hard Mode Difficult Warnings

Each boss has one chest per Mode. I.e. Easy Mode gets one chest, Normal Mode gets Easy + Normal chests and Hard Mode gets all 3 chests.

  • All bosses drop raid marks.
  • Easy Mode chest contains platinum.
  • Normal Mode chest contains 2 sets of gear (+ relic upgrade component for last boss).
    • Last boss of Intrepid: Gilded Prophecy drops Eye of Untold Madness + 1x Relic Weapon + 1x Other Gear (Epic Cape).
  • Hard Mode chest contains additional loot.
    • For Rhen of Fate, Hard Mode chest contains Heart of the Frozen. (Yes, Finric will have 2 Hearts; 1 from Normal and one from Hard chest)
    • For Intrepid: Gilded Prophecy, Hard Mode chest contains a random Relic Accessory (can include a new Relic Focus). Last boss has Eye of Untold Madness + Relic Accessory.

Switching Modes

You are allowed to switch to a lower-difficulty mode after each boss. However, you cannot return to a higher difficulty level for that instance lock.

E.g. Say you kill Boss #1 on Hard Mode. You find Boss #2 too hard on Hard Mode, so you switch it down to Normal Mode. For Boss #3, you can’t go back to Hard Mode – your only option is Normal Mode or tune down to Easy Mode. If you tune it down to Easy Mode, for Boss #4 you’ll be stuck on Easy Mode.

Intrepid: Gilded Prophecy

Intrepid: Gilded Prophecy is the new 10-man Tier 2 raid coming to RIFT in 3.3: Waking Nightmares (15th July 2015). Bosses are quite similar to the Level 50 version, except there’s a few new mechanics here and there.

  • Old Level 50 achievements won’t go Legacy.

Since they didn’t show much, I’ll mainly be posting the loot drops.

1st Boss: Anrak the Foul

Livestream Summary Intrepid Gilded Prophecy Anrak the Foul

Boss seems more or less same as Level 50. Of course since the fights were done with only one player, a couple of raid-mechanics might not have been shown.

  • Does ‘Sandstorm’ – looks to be a stack-on-boss mechanic.
  • Spines of Earth – spread mechanic.
  • Tail strike for tank to dodge.
  • High-damage channel on random player ‘Gaze’ mechanic.

Loot: Anrak the Foul

Below you can find the loot for Anrak the Foul.

Only showing the Easy Mode chest loot for this boss since the rest are similar, give or take a few gold. Anrak the Foul dropped the following loot:

  • Boss drops 200 Fragments of Madness for all modes.
  • Easy Mode chest gives plat.
  • Normal Mode chest had a phys crit Rogue ring and a CP Cleric DPS trinket.
  • Hard Mode chest had ‘Sigil of Sanctuary’. A new relic planar focus. +100 Endurance, +65 Guard, +50 Resist All.

2nd Boss: Guurloth

Livestream Summary Intrepid Gilded Prophecy Guurloth

Simon Says boss. Anony killed it pretty quickly and during that small window there wasn’t any new mechanics shown.

Note: The “Defile the offering to Laethys” objective that is needed to get past the 2nd boss can no longer be done by an Assassin. The mobs now have stealth detection.

Loot: Guurloth

Intrepid Gilded Prophecy Loot Guurloth

Guurloth dropped the following loot:

  • Boss drops 200 Fragments of Madness for all modes.
  • Easy Mode chest gives plat.
  • Normal Mode chest gave a Cleric epic earring and a Warrior 1-hander. Anony didn’t show earring.
  • Hard Mode chest gave “Luminous Jewel”, a Cleric relic earring with two tertiary stats – SP and CP!

3rd Boss: Thalguur

Livestream Summary Intrepid Gilded Prophecy Thalguur

Thalguur seems similar to Level 50; except he has an ability that spreads a ton of red AoE all over the place.

Loot: Thalguur

Intrepid Gilded Prophecy Loot Thalguur

Thalguur dropped the following loot:

  • Boss drops 200 Fragments of Madness for all modes.
  • Easy Mode chest gives plat.
  • Normal Mode chest gave a ‘Rifle of Deflection’ (assumed Rogue Tank ranged weap) and a ‘Teeth of the Living Dream’ (assumed necklace). Anony did not hover over these items.
  • Hard Mode gave “Faragos, the Divine Hand”, a Cleric Tank relic Ring with two tertiary stats: Block and Guard!

4th Boss: Uruluuk

Livestream Summary Intrepid Gilded Prophecy Uruluuk

Uruluuk seemed the same as Level 50, except that throughout the entire encounter there were these small Earth crystals called “Crystalline Desecration” that spawned. Anony did mention that some mechanics can’t be shown since they need more than just a tank in the raid.

Loot: Uruluuk

Intrepid Gilded Prophecy Loot Uruluuk

(Interestingly, the relic weapon has an upgrade path. Wonder if it’s just a sidegrade option, or perhaps it actually upgrades to Transcendent (red) rarity? Thanks to DarkDaemon@Laethys for the observant eye!)

Uruluuk drops the following loot:

  • Boss drops 200 Fragments of Madness for all modes.
  • Easy Mode chest gives plat.
  • Normal Mode chest gave Eye of Untold Madness (T2 relic upgrade component) + “Jekket, the Enduring Victory” Warrior Relic 1-hand + “Cloak of Lost Whispers” Rogue Tank Cape.
  • Hard Mode chest gave Eye of Untold Madness + “Sigil of Sanctuary”, the new relic focus.

As Anony mentioned, Uruluuk will always drop:

  • Normal Mode Chest = 1x Eye of Untold Madness + 1x Relic Weapon + 1x Other Gear (in this case, an Epic Cape).
  • Hard Mode Chest = 1x Eye of Untold Madness + 1x Relic Accessory.

(So yes, you get two Eyes of Untold Madness if you down Hard Mode Uruluuk. Start polishing your 1k+ AP/SP proc weapons from HK!).

Patch 3.3 Next Week

The devs reminded us that Patch 3.3: Waking Nightmares is coming next week on Wednesday, July 15th 2015 (likely Thursday for EU as usual).

Briefly:

  • Intrepid: Gilded Prophecy. Release Day 1.
  • Easy/Hard Modes for Intrepid: Gilded Prophecy and Rhen of Fate. Released Day 1.
  • New wardrobe functionality – Appearance sets increased to 365 with wardrobe set achievements.
  • Nightmare Saga questline. Rewards are nice. Multiple part release. 3-parts. 2-week segments. Act I at launch.
  • Random Chronicles.
  • Frenetic Gear. (Upgrade to Dreambreaker (PvP) gear).
  • Planar Crafting.
  • Fluff Item Crafts. Costume Bundles, VFX, Pets.
  • A lot of performance work in the back-end.
  • Silver Tier Loyalty.

You can find out more information about the above additions and more here.

Interestingly Archonix mentioned that “Frenetic gear should have T1 hit, I believe”, but on the PTS it only has Hit + 125.

Conventions + Future Content

Conventions

Trion mentioned that they’ll have parties at GamesCom and PAX Prime later this year (August).

  • No need for tickets since the parties will be held close to the venues.
  • Archonix: “Might be showing some cool stuff off”.
  • There will be awesome mount giveaways and other swag like the 4th Anniversary Arclight Rider Mount.
  • Trion @ GamesCom. CM Brasse has posted up info in regards to Trion’s Party that will be held at GamesCom (Cologne, Germany) here. Details below  subjective to change.
    • Venue: Bauwerk.
    • Time: 6-10pm on Thursday, August 6th.
    • Free drinks; Devs to chat; Codes.

Currently no info on when or where Trion will be holding their PAX Prime party, but it will be during PAX Prime which is held between August 28-31st 2015 at Seattle, WA (America).

Primalist Announcement

Archonix and Anony seemed to have heavily hinted that they’ll be revealing more information about Primalist following the GamesCom event.

Convo as follows:

Archonix:

If there was an event we were going to in the future, you may want to pay attention.

Anony:

I think they’re trying to say you’ll learn all about it following GamesCom event.

Archonix:

I did not say that, but it’s a good assumption

So, look forward to more information about the 5th Calling “Primalist” next month!

Future Content

As well as the Primalist, Trion mentioned that a new Expert Dungeon is coming out in the next patch (3.4). This is most likely the Rhaza’de Canyons on the PTS. This is linked to the Planetouched Wilds, which seems to suggest that Trion ‘might’ be planning on releasing the Planetouched Wilds in 3.4!
