RIFT news tidbits for 13-14th July 2015.

General

• Planned Shard Downtime. RIFT will be going down tomorrow for the new patch, RIFT 3.3: Waking Nightmares. Estimated downtime is ~3hrs. I’ll have a guide up for where to go for various additions tomorrow. For now, you can check out a list of what we know is coming thus far here.
  • North America: 7/15/15, at 7:00 AM PDT.
  • Europe: 7/16/15 at 1:00 AM GMT.

• Mage Changes With 3.3. Red Hawk has confirmed that the Mage changes on the PTS will be live with 3.3. This includes removing Empyrean Ascension’s abilities and making Phase Step movement-only (no damage). There’s also been a change to Storm Locus in Stormcaller to only affect Air and Water abilities.
  • Red Hawk explains why these changes are coming in here. Further changes may be made shortly after 3.3 depending on feedback.
  • Current hybrids that use Storm Locus (basically Stormcaller hybrids) will likely no longer be viable when 3.3 hits.
  • Kerghan’s Guide to 54 Harb (3.3). Kerghan@Zaviel has created a detailed guide on a 54 Harbinger spec, taking into account the upcoming changes. Check it out here!

• About Planar Crafted Gear. Morticus has corrected the 2pc armor set bonus. It should be Main Stat +150, not +250. [r] Note: This was changed internally; not reflected in tooltip on PTS.

• About New Dimensions. Mathosian Cascades and Octus Monastery (coming in 3.3) now max out at an item limit of 2,520. [r] Tulan looks to be slated for 3.4. [r]

• About Tenebrian Deity. MrScary has stated that the ‘Tenebrian Deity‘ that appeared in place of the Mathosian race text on the PTS was due to “a bad string Id that got misplaced on a particular build”. Looks like no new race. [r]
