Razorback Roundup Promo Week

Razorback Roundup Promo Week is on-going, ending on July 30th at 3:30PM ST (NA:TC–CD) (EU:TC–CD). New Armored Razorback Mounts are now available as a rare chance drop from Armored Razorback Troves on the RIFT Store! There are also daily quests for event currency via in Moonshade Highlands. You can learn more about the promo week here.

• The event tracker might not be visible for you, but the quests are up in Moonshade Highlands at /setywapoint 6126 2292.

General

• Planned Shard Downtime. RIFT will be going down tomorrow for RIFT 3.3 Hotfix #5. Downtime expected at ~2hrs.
  • North America: 7/29/15 at 7:00AM PDT
  • Europe: 7/30/15 at 1AM GMT

• Notice: Windows 10 – July 29th 2015 Launch. TrionBrasse has mentioned that all Trion games should be ready for the Windows 10 release. Windows 10 will be launching on July 29th 2015 with free upgrades for Windows 7 and 8 users. You can learn more about the upgrade here.
  • Warning: Some users are reporting issues with getting on RIFT and using some other programs with the latest Windows 10 update. Seems there might also be issues for players who have Nvidia graphics cards. Might want to wait a few weeks before upgrading to Windows 10.
  • A few tidbits: It’s a 3GB download; free upgrade for Windows 7 and 8 users only available until a year from launch.
  • Please check the Windows 10 specifications to learn about specs required as well as some programs that are being removed (like Windows Media Center and desktop gadgets) when you upgrade to Windows 10.
  • Compatibility: You should also check that your software/hardware works on Windows 10 by visiting the manufacturer’s website. If it works on Windows 7 or 8, it should work on Windows 10. To be safe though, you might want to wait a few weeks after the launch of Windows 10 to check that people aren’t reporting issues on Windows 10 with certain software/hardware.

• RIFT Behind the Scenes: Stephen “Drakcoon” Mabee. Trion has a new “Behind the Scenes” article, this time with Senior Concept Artist Stephen “Drakcoon” Mabee. He talks about what he does at RIFT, being a concept artist in general and shows off some Planetouched Wilds concept art! Check out a summary (with more info from other sources) here! • Notice: RIFT Livestream This Friday. RIFT is having another livestream this week (usually every fortnight, but we had one last week too). Probably mainly streaming the PTS playtest for the Assault on Bronze Tomb warfront. Livestream will be on Friday, July 31st 2015 at 4PM PDT! You’ll be able to watch the stream on their Twitch Channel.

• RIFT Livestream: July 24 [Video]. Trion has uploaded the video recording of last week’s RIFT Livestream to Youtube. The livestream is about the upcoming Assault on Bronze Tomb warfront. You can check out the video here! You can also check out a text summary here.

• Reminder: PTS Playtest This Friday. The PTS Playtest for the Assault on Bronze Tomb warfront was pushed back to this week. It’ll now be at July 31st 2015 at 3:30PM PDT. (exact time is tentative, could change).

• Crafting Rift Drop Rate Review. Morticus has stated that the team will have another discussion about crafting rift drop rates and look into making improvements. No details. [r]
