RIFT was updated with RIFT 3.3 Hotfix #10. On the surface it was a very small hotfix with just a fix to an achievement in Intrepid: Gilded Prophecy. However, a few interesting icons popped up.
Patch version STABLE-302-98-A-1034198
Summary:
- Possible Puzzle Box Icons
- Other Datamined Icons
As always, everything below is subject to change prior to hitting Live and some things included below may never make it to Live release.
Possible Puzzle Box Icons
The latest hotfix had quite a few block icons as per below:
These could potentially be new icons to replace the placeholder icons for the various Puzzle Boxes that are coming to the game with the release of the Planetouched Wilds zone in RIFT 3.4: Into the Wilds.
That said, there were only 11 puzzle boxes from the NPC “Antonell <Callweddi Crafter>” revealed during last month’s Planetouched Wilds Preview livestream. A 12th one (‘Red Faerie Puzzle Box’) was hovered over briefly in Dead Simon’s inventory during the stream.
The latest Live hotfix had 30 of these ’12-sided die’ icons; 10 for each design.
Other Possibilities
Another possibility is that these icons are for new 12-sided building blocks. Seems odd, but it might explain the large variety of colors.
And then there’s also the possibility that these might also be the icons for the new tier of Runes coming in 3.4.
Other Datamined Icons
A few other icons popped up:
1st Row
The 1st row of icons are clearly for the Callweddi Ceremonial wardrobe outfit. It’s unknown exactly how to obtain this set, but it has something to do with the Callweddi location in the Planetouched Wilds zone and will supposedly be difficult to obtain.
2nd Row
There’s two Bahmi icons and one of Regulos. Given the Regulos icon, my guess is that these are icons for new Warfront Announcers.
The first icon is probably the Khar Warfront Announcer that you get with The Wilds Pack when 3.4 hits. The second is either Zal Shulam or Usukhel, based on limited information from Planetouched Wilds Artifact Set flavor text.
3rd Row
Last row shows two lockboxes. The brown is currently used for the Limited Edition: Greathound Trove. The gold might be used for a different skin of the mount; or for similar troves.
Not much from the latest hotfix, but still pretty surprising for how little was in the hotfix notes.
