General Feature Image

RIFT news tidbits for 4th September 2015.

You can find full 3.3 patch notes + a summary with useful links here.

General

  • 3.4 Open Testing Date Announced. During the latest livestream, Trion announced that they plan on starting open testing for 3.4 next Friday, 11th September 2015!
    • Open Testing is for all players. Access to Planetouched Wilds zone and Primalist calling.
    • Test shard will be up 24/7.
    • Note that this is the ‘planned’ date and might be pushed back. Advised not to take day off work.
  • Notice: RIFT Store Discount. There’s currently a 25% off sale for various equipment, upgrade parts and trophies on the RIFT Store. Stacks with Patron’s 10% discount. Ends Sunday, 6th September 2015 at 11:59PM PDT. More info here.
  • Opt-in to RIFT E-mails. CM Ocho posted an ‘Opting In to Emails can Have Benefits’ post on the RIFT forums. He has done this several times in the past, and each time we’d end up receiving free codes or Credits in the mail. Trion hasn’t mentioned anything other than to opt-in yet, but my guess is we’ll be getting something in the mail within the next few weeks. [r]
    • To Opt-in for RIFT e-mails, go to the RIFT or Trionworlds.com website -> Click Account -> Login -> Account Drop-down -> Newsletters. Or click here and login.
    • Note: Some time ago it was revealed that anyone who has unsubscribed to RIFT newsletters in the past will have issues opting-in again. If you have been having issues seeing RIFT newsletters (and are opted-in), please respond in CM Ocho’s thread here.
  • Livestream Summary: Planetouched Wilds Preview. Trion held their latest livestream showing off the Planetouched Wilds zone. Lots of mobs and various locales shown off. Check out screenshots and more info here!
  • Livestream Summary: Rift Reforged Anniversary. For those who missed it yesterday, Rift Reforged‘s held their anniversary episode with a ton of Trion guests. They talked about various 3.4 info, including a bunch of new UI improvements and teasers to obtaining the Kubara Sakti item. Check out the summary here. You can also check out the recorded video here.
  • Mage Harbinger Changes on PTS. Red Hawk has posted up a bunch of changes to make 61pt Harbinger more attractive including changing Empyrean Ascension damage increase from 25% to 40%. Full notes here.
  • PTS Update. A new PTS update hit just before the RIFT Livestream today. 1.46GB in size. Briefly: Burning artifacts are up; Shields now only absorb 85% of damage (50% of hp absorb cap still exists); Mage Harbinger changes; new tier of Runes now require Opaque Rune Amenders, not Dreaming. I’ll have the full PTS article tomorrow.

Do I need to opt-in to more than just Glyph and RIFT?

    • September 9, 2015 at 5:17 pm #

No, that shouldn’t be necessary. However, some players have had issues with receiving newsletters from RIFT in the past – most often due to e-mail provider, spam filters or because they unsubscribed in the past and this has caused issues after they opted-in again. If you’ve opted in a while ago and haven’t been receiving any newsletters, you can inform Ocho in his thread here.
