RIFT’s Public Test Shard (‘PTS’) was updated on the 16th and 18th September 2015 with a 1.27GB and 459mb patch respectively. Despite the size, most of the patch size for the latest two updates would be downloading existing .pak files with small edits to each for bugs in regards to the Planetouched Wilds and Primalist calling.
That said, there’s a new wardrobe set for each armor type, Act II of the Wilds quests is now available and there’s a random button for Wardrobe.
Patch versions are TEST-303-29-A-1038328 and TEST-303-31-A-1039039.
Summary:
- Wilds Wardrobe. New armor sets for each armor type related to the Planetouched Wilds.
- Random Wardrobe. Can now randomize your armor slot appearances!
- Act II Begins. Act II of the Planetouched Wilds is now available for testing on the PTS.
- Dimension Tiles. Dimension tiles previewable. Most available from Callweddi village.
- Other Info. Minion card: Spirit Kite updated; Essence Upgrade tooltip added; PTW Carnage quests now give Shal Korva rep; Rhaza’de Canyons back on LFG.
As always, everything below is subject to change prior to hitting Live and some things included below may never make it to Live release.
Wilds Wardrobe
During last week’s RIFT livestream, Trion mentioned that there would be at least 2 wardrobe sets arriving with the Planetouched Wilds. One was the raid set (most likely Sven’s concept art) coming with the Tier 3 20-man Mind of Madness, and another seems to be the quest reward set for the new zone.
Planetouched Wilds Wardrobe
The wardrobe is now available for preview on the PTS. Just go to Character (default key “c”) -> Wardrobe, mark “Show Uncollected” and type in the search field for each armor slot the following:
- Chain = “Ancestor’s Chain”
- Leather = “Crimson Lion”
- Plate = “Sky Hunter”
- Cloth = “Jade Serpent”
You can obtain these pieces from the Planetouched Wilds’ quest rewards.

RIFT Ancestor’s Chain Wardrobe

RIFT Crimson Lion Wardrobe

RIFT Jade Serpent Wardrobe
Oddly, the ‘Crimson Lion’ set sounds like it would be more suited to the ‘Ancestor’s Chain’ set, given crimson = red and the ‘Ancestor’s Chain’ helm looks kind of like a lion. At least more so than the purple set.
Personally not a fan of the color scheme and overall look of each wardrobe, but I can’t deny it looks like it would fit in the Planetouched Wilds with all the stone faces.
Currently can’t be died on the PTS, but they might look better with a change in colors.
Other 3.4 Sets
None of the sets match the ‘vampire’ wardrobe set datamined in the past:

RIFT Death Bat Wardrobe Bundle Skin
And there’s also the Callweddi Ceremonial wardrobe that you can preview on the PTS. So those are 2 more sets coming at some point in 3.4 to look forward to.

Random Wardrobe
A new UI addition has been added to Wardrobes. There’s now a random button that will choose random armor appearances for you!
The Random button only changes armor slots. It won’t affect weapon slots or dyes.
Great for when you’re feeling lucky. Who knows, you might find some interesting appearance combinations. [It would be nice if you could ‘lock’ in some slots so you can slowly get the ‘perfect’ wardrobe instead of having all slots randomize each time.]
(Thanks to Boase for the info!)
Act II Begins
If you’ve been testing out the quests in the Planetouched Wilds on the PTS, Act II is now available from Uureg in Shal Korva at /setwaypoint 10298 5786.
Give the quests a go and send in your feedback/bug reports either in-game or via the PTS Sub-forums. New to testing? Check out a guide here to get you started!
Dimension Tiles
As mentioned in the past, Trion is introducing a whole slew of new dimension tiles to the game.
Here’s a few of them, rewarded from subsequent completions of the puzzle in Callweddi, Planetouched Wilds.
The above image shows three max-size tiles. The default size only contains one ‘block’ from each tile.
Besides completing the puzzle in Callweddi, you will be able to purchase all the tiles for plat or credits in Callweddi village through the NPC Ceidwad <Well-Traveled Dimensioneer>. This was revealed in the August 21st 2015 Livestream by Dead Simon. He also revealed what most of the other NPCs sell as well.
Just to jog your memory, here’s the list for the new dimension tiles:
Of course all prices subject to change. Getting to Callweddi village (the area above Callweddi) will be the hard part. Dead Simon didn’t give away exactly how to get there, but it seems it will take quite some time to do so.
Other Info
A few other tidbits from the latest PTS Updates:
Minion Card: Spirit Kite Updated
The Minion Card: Spirit Kite has been corrected.
It now starts with 12 stamina with attributes: Life, Hunting and Harvesting. Given it starts with 12 stamina, it will most likely max out at 30 stamina.
Essence Tooltip
Essences now have an additional tooltip in their upgrade window to indicate to players that you need to remove it from your focus before you can upgrade the essence.
Nothing big, but I’m guessing there were probably a few too many CS tickets about it.
PTW Carnage Reward
Carnages in the Planetouched Wilds have been adjusted to give you Shal Korva notoriety.
Rhaza’de Canyons Back
Rhaza’de Canyons Expert Dungeon is now available again under the LFG window (default key “i“). Simply click on the bottom-left ‘Specific Dungeons’ button to view all the dungeons.
Note: Unsure if you can actually access the dungeon yet. The ‘permissions’ issue might still be present, preventing you from going in.
Despite the large file sizes for each update there actually isn’t much that is new. This happens quite often just before a patch is released on live as Trion fixes a ton of quest bugs, typos, floating nodes and mechanics.
As such, a lot of the file size is simply re-downloading existing files and minor edits to them that aren’t readily noticeable in-game. We’ll likely see more of these sorts of updates in the coming weeks.

The ‘Callweddi Ceremonial Wardrobe’ Chest piece is the only item I like about Any of the new wardrobe items! But not the colour – would dye it of course – If it can be dyed. The rest all look better on the Male characters, I am not into Frilly and Pink – but it would be nice if we had some nicer items for the female characters. although a nice Dust coat for both male and female would be Great 🙂
Same, I do like the Callweddi chest piece, although the wardrobe set is said to be hard to obtain. The new quest reward sets just aren’t my thing. Hopefully the new raid’s armor sets are more to my liking.
Typical – the one that looks the best is the one that will be hard to get – lol.
I would suggest Trion Ask some Female Players for Female items and Males for Male items to be Designed – maybe have some sort of competition – BUT – let the players Choose which they like from entries – Not the people that designed the new sets :oP
Actually – just looked at the wardrobe items again – the Crimson Lion Wardrobe Chest piece for the Female might be nice too – IF we could see it fully on it’s own, but looking again – I believe the chest piece for the female would be a nice addition – but not the rest of it, which is actually quite hideous imo 😛
