Open Testing

Open testing for the Primalist calling and the Planetouched Wilds zone is up on the Public Test Shard. You can learn more about accessing the PTS, gearing up and posting feedback here.

General

• Notice: RIFT Survey Sent Out. Trion has sent out a RIFT survey to a bunch of players (assumed at random). Complete the survey before 28th Sept for free 7-Day Patron and entry into a draw to win Silver Tier Loyalty. More info here.

• Notice: RIFT Store Lockbox Discount. There’s 25% off discount for lockboxes on the RIFT Store until the end of Sunday, 27th Sept 2015. Includes lockbox-related items such as lock box keys and temporal aligners as well. Stacks with patron’s 10% discount. [r]

• Livestream Summary: 3.4 Crafting and UI. Trion held their latest livestream talking about most of the crafting, dimension and user interface additions coming to the game including a whole new tier of runes, pots and dream orbs. Check out the summary here.

• RIFT Mobile Discontinued with 3.4. Trion is removing the RIFT Mobile app when 3.4 hits due to the amount of resources the app took away from other engineering/development projects. This will mean no guild mobile chat and will cause issues for Rift Event Trackers that rely on the mobile app to track events. You can check out the thread with the announcement here.
  • CM Ocho also went over the removal of the Mobile app during today’s livestream. Trion might create an official Rift event tracker, but it’s currently not on the table.
  • CM Ocho also made a further forum post about the on-going issues Trion faced with the Mobile app. You can read it here.

• Tulan Key with Autumn Harvest. The Tulan dimension key that was briefly available on the PTS a few months ago will be available during the Autumn Harvest World Event this year (~late Oct/early Nov). [r]

• PTS Welcome Window. The PTS was updated again (3rd one in last three days) with Trion adding in a ‘Welcome Window‘ whenever you log on. CM Ocho has made a large post to explain the window:
  • The window will eventually have information on future livestreams, events, important notices and RIFT Store sales.
  • You will only see the window pop up once every 20hrs or so per account, so if you see it once on one character, you won’t see the window pop up when you log onto another character.

• Exact Search. Gingers has stated that Trion will add an “Exact Search” option for the Auction House onto their wishlist of things to do. (So not guaranteed or on schedule, but something they would like to do). [r]

Other News Tidbits

Other Trion or MMORPG-related news not directly related to RIFT. Don’t worry, you’ll rarely see this section.

• ArcheAge Subscription Renewal Bug. Have you ever played ArcheAge, but cancelled your subscription in the past? Be sure to check that you haven’t accidentally had your subscription renewed due to a bug in Trion’s billing system. Trion CEO Scott Hartsman has explained the issue here.
  • In short, if you’ve ever cancelled your subscription to ArcheAge in the past, due to a bunch of issues, you might have noticed your subscription renewing earlier this week.
  • Issue has been detected by Trion and anyone who was charged for renewal should have or will be getting a refund shortly.
  • If you are affected, Trion should be sending out an e-mail to you today to notify you of the issue.
