RIFT 3.4: Into the Wilds is almost here! A recent MMORPG.com video with Dead Simon placed the date at October 6th 2015, subject to any issues. In an announcement made about changes to Credit and Patron pricing, Director of Community Relations Linda “Brasse” Carlson mentioned that RIFT 3.4 will be released “on or about October 7, 2015”.
With just over a week until RIFT 3.4 comes out, it also means that there’s just over a week until the Primalist Pack becomes available! In previous weeks, RiftGrate gave away REX to help boost your Primalist fund, but it’s now time for the big one: a Primalist Pack giveaway and contest!
Contest/Giveaway Details
RiftGrate is giving away:
- 1x Primalist Calling Pack for the best response to the Contest Question.
- 1x Primalist Calling Pack to a random entry.
Primalist Calling Pack:
The Primalist Calling Pack contains the first six souls of the new Primalist calling that will be released with RIFT 3.4: Into the Wilds. The souls are: Dervish, Berserker, Titan, Preserver, Vulcanist and Typhoon.
The Pack will be available on the launch of 3.4 for 5,250 Credits (4,725 for Patrons).
Rules are simple:
- Giveaway Eligibility: Post a comment below with your ‘in-gamename@shardname’. Ensure your name@shard is 100% accurate.
- Contest Eligibility: If you want to enter to win the “best response” Primalist Pack, you’ll need to post a comment below with your ‘in-gamename@shardname’ as well as the answer to the Contest Question.
- If you do not answer the contest question, you will only be eligible for the “random entry” giveaway. If you do answer the contest question, you will be eligible for both.
- Both NA and EU players can participate.
- Please only one post per person.
- Entries close on Monday, 5th October 2015 at 11:59:59PM PDT. The winner for the ‘random player’ giveaway will be determined by using List Randomizer.
The reason for a Monday close is just in case Trion decides to launch 3.4 on Tuesday (Oct 6th) instead of the usual Wednesday patch time.
Contest Question
In 150 words or less, tell me why you want the Primalist Pack.
Judging:
No specific ‘criteria’, although I will probably favor responses that are interesting or seem to really want the Primalist. Knowledge of the calling and explaining for what and why you want to make use of the calling will probably help your entry.
Judge: Khortish is the sole judge. Decision on the winning entry is at the sole discretion of the judge.
Prize Distribution
Since the Primalist Calling Pack will not be available in-game until RIFT 3.4: Into the Wilds has launched, prizes will be sent out on the day the patch hits. Depending on patch times, it might take a few hours before I am able to send the packs to the winners.

Let’s be honest, you can’t fight crime (or in this case evil) without looking fabulous. As a healer, I want the Primalist pack so I look fabulous with pretty petals and seeds as I heal my allies. That, and you can switch to being the tiger spec, who doesn’t want to be a kitty right?
Kreutzer@Gelidra Most of the people of my country are religious fanatic ones. I’m in, they are blinkered somehow. I am not here to accuse them, that’s just how it goes. I don’t want to be part of them; because the imposition came from other cultures with same religion. They just replicated cultures through their own culture. My ancestors have been believed in “Tengri” in which includes shamanism as well as animism, totemism and ancestor worship. They have become integrated with nature as well as the core of nature. To get to the main point, having the primalist. I want to roll a class that have several characteristics from my past. Getting strength from the nature and feeling the spirit are what I want to obtain. No matter how powerful we are as current human beings, primitive humans were surviving in the same world, as a matter of fact, in more brutal world; but they do it in touch with nature not with obliterating it.
Since I laid my eyes on the Primalist, I fell in love with the play style and and depth of the soul. I especially like how connected it is to nature. As a recent return player to Rift, I can think of no better way to get re acquainted than to play a new Primalist.

rift is my first game of this type. been here 2 years and have leveled 4 characters (one of each) to lev 65. i am still trying to find my niche/style. the combination style of primalist just might could be it. i would appreciate the opportunity to find out. ty for the possibility.
Khaler@Faeblight I really want the Primalist class, because looking over the videos, it appears to be interesting if nothing else, and it would be a major difference to Rogue (something I’ve been looking for). Also, who wouldn’t want to wield a giant 2-hander weapon in full Leather armor, and then turn their head into a tiger and deal massive damage? Finally, I want to get Primalist, and make a tribal camp-esque dimension, which would basically be my Primalist’s home (and that I am kind of interested in playing RIFT again, and I want to try a new class, but I don’t really like cast times.)
Please consider all of the things I listed while choosing who gets the reward.

Arachyd@laethys Oh, my goodness! In answer to the question, where do I start? I want the pack because Rift is awesome! You guys put so much incredible detail into the mounts, the souls, the weapons, armor, costumes, story lines…..it’s truly like a mini real (albeit, fantasy) world in Rift! Even more, you do it with such variety from map to map and plane to plane so it never gets old. Getting one of the packs makes the experience even more complete! I’ve never played a game with such beautiful, flowing graphics either. Kudos to you!

I want to experiance this brand new class. I tested the class out on the PTS and I really liked the focus mechanic. It adds something new and unique to Rift that I would love to play on the live servers/raids.

I have played this game since beta always been a cleric, started out as a healer, turned DPS during Storm Legion. Was one of the best clerics in game late SL early NT. Then I just lost the passion then I lost the interest. Clerics never were fixed the constant scaling problems, and always behind the curve on class mechanics.
We have been top dps calling in game for about a month total during Rifts lifetime. I tried out primalist in PTS and I enjoy the calling a lot and it plays differently than Cleric. I troughly enoyjed trying out Dervish it feels a bit like shaman but with warriorish (savage) twist.
Maybe I will finally get back the passion I had back in the day, maybe I’ll finally like my calling again. Please help! I’m trapped I like my guild too much but I dont like my calling right now.

Why would I like to win the Primalist pack? Because in my quest to better myself, student loans have rendered my bank account impotent. My ADD says “Ooooh, shiny new class! Can we?” and my bank account is saying “Not tonight. It’s not you, it’s me.”.

I love poorly-armored fighters wielding giant, 2-handed weapons. It’s usually my go-to in games, when it’s a class (or “role”) option. Paired up with very shamanistic fluff and animations, make for one meaty, badass fighting machine. Balancing between cunning and fury should be a fun challenge.

I have always loved to heal! I like how each class has their own style of healing for different situations. With the introduction of a new class, zones, and raids. There will be many new encounters for healers which I’m looking forward too.

I want the pack because I’ve played mages almost exclusively in Rift and I’m excited to break out of my comfort zone and try a completely new and unique calling. I’ve been longing for something different and Primalist seems to be just the thing I’ve been looking for.

I’ve been getting very discouraged playing Rift for the past couple of months. Due to hardware issues I am stuck using a craptop again and can barely run the game. I had finally started to raid, and suddenly I can’t do that and many other group activities that made the game so fun for me. I feel like I’m missing out, and my guild is passing me by. Having a new calling to learn would give me something new to focus on.

One of my favorite parts of Rift is that once you pick soul your not limited to only dps, tank, support, or healing like other games. The primalist gives me the opportunity to learn a new soul and find out where it will be best used.
