RIFT news tidbits for 5th November 2015.

• RIFT 3.4: Into the Wilds Patch Notes.
• Extra Life 2015. 24hr charity gaming weekend, 7th-8th Nov. Trion participating 5th year in a row with fundraising rewards, giveaways, contests, titles and in-game activities.
• Autumn Harvest World Event Guide. Check out all there is to know about the current Autumn Harvest world event!

General

• RIFT 3.4 Hotfix #7. RIFT has been updated with hotfix #7: PTW Act 3 is up; The Mind of Madness T3 raid is open; Autumn Harvest 7x signets quest available; various T1/2/3 raid gear/currency changes/additions; Hammerknell Fortress: you can go from Murdantix -> upper floor now; Forgemaster’s Inferno available in Credit Pack Promo. There’s also some Primalist soul changes. Full hotfix notes + further information here. Some quick info below:
  • The Mind of Madness entrance is /setwaypoint 4096 2206 in Tarken Glacier. You have to use Omen Sight (Guardian) or Quantum Sight (Defiant) to see the portal, and there’s a raid mob guarding the portal.
  • Hammerknell Fortress: Once you kill Murdantix, you can skip straight to the upper floors (Inwar Darktide + Inquisitor Garau).
  • Hotfix notes were updated shortly after hitting Live. The Fragments of Horror-to-Abyssal Crusader’s Marks conversion made it into the patch and is not being delayed till next hotfix.

• Tier 3 Gear Pricing Change. Vladd has announced that the current prices of Tier 3 gear on the RIFT Store are incorrect. [r] With next week’s hotfix, they will be changed to the following:
  • Feet/Gloves/Belt = 7,000 Fragments of Darkness.
  • Helm/Shoulders = 11,000 Fragments of Darkness.
  • Chest/Legs = 13,500 Fragments of Darkness.

• World First Pagura by Apotheosys. Congratulations to Apotheosys for getting World First kill for Pagura in The Mind of Madness raid! [r]
  • Be sure to keep an eye out for new The Mind of Madness kills at TopofRift.com.
  • TopofRift also displays active raid streams on its front page. Don’t miss out on the progression livestreams from the top raiding guilds out there!

• Primalist Preserver Mobility Nerf Explained. With this week’s hotfix, a Primalist Mastery was changed: “Ursine Tenacity now causes Nurture and Naturalize to slow the caster by 50% while channeling them.” This means that Preservers will move a lot slower when channeling those two healing abilities. Red Hawk has explained that this was to create a fairer playing field in PvP. Full explanation here.

• IA Change Reverted. Just a note that the change to IAs (switch shard if zone event becomes active) in this week’s hotfix has been reverted temporarily as it was causing issues with Intrepid Instant Adventures. The Intrepid IAs should now be working again. [r]

• More Giveaways Teaser. Trion has posted up a quick announcement that the Mind of Madness raid has opened up on Live. In the two-paragraph article, they also mention that there would be “more giveaways to come!” [r] No further information provided, but it ‘could’ be an indication of more Celebration-style gifts in the future.

• Using Multiple Accounts Bug. Latest Glyph update today has caused players to be unable to launch multiple accounts using the same Glyph client ‘instance’. A temporary work-around is to launch RIFT, completely close out of Glyph, log into your other account and launch RIFT for the 2nd account and so on. [r]

• Callweddi Puzzle Further Tidbit. Just a further tidbit about the Pentomino Permutator on Callweddi: There’s 4,678 possible solutions to completing the puzzle. Reflections are counted as separate solutions, although rotations are not. [r]

• Planetouched Wilds Map Indicator Issue. The objective “Kill the Secret Wish” in the “A Tempting Offer” Planetouched Wilds Quest has an issue with the map indicator pointing to the wrong location. You’ll need to go to /setwaypoint 10212 5487 in the Vale of Attunement to find the Secret Wish. [r]

• Shal Korva Ring Bug. Shal Korva rep rings are BoP. Will be fixed next week (presumably to be BoA). [r]

• Twitch: Tardsplaya. Are you having issues watching Twitch streams from streamers with low view counts? Having buffering/freezing issues? A possible solution is to watch Twitch streams using “Tardsplaya”, which runs the stream you are watching via Media Player Classic. Check out info here. (Big thanks to worrisomefool for the info!)

Other News Tidbits

Other Trion or MMORPG-related news not directly related to RIFT. Usually for giveaways related to Trion’s other titles.

• Humble Weekly Bundle: Extra Life. Humble Bundle has revealed their Extra Life Weekly Bundle, something they’ve been doing for a few years now on the eve of the 24hr gaming charity event. Amongst a bunch of games and XSplit Premium 1-month license, there’s also a Devilian Extra Life Humble Bundle Package containing Radiant Halo cosmetic item for all your Devilian chars + Access to all Devilian Beta Events as well as a Skyfire Helm for Trove.
  • As with all Humble Bundles, you can pay any amount of money (although I think there’s a minimum like 20c?) for the first tier of games; pay above average for 2nd tier and a fixed amount for the highest tier of games. You are also able to choose what % of your payment goes to the developers of the games, and what % goes to the charity.

  • 100% of Trion’s share of the bundle goes to the Extra Life charity. [r]
