Main Soul Quests

The Main Soul Quests are all obtained from Voradrin at the Runic Athenaeum. The Main Soul Quests are quest-chains for the 4 Patch 2.7 Souls: Arbiter, Physician, Liberator and Oracle that are accessible by all players (i.e. not Calling-specific).

We have split the quest walkthroughs into 4 sections for ease of reading and load considerations. Each section is associated with one of the souls. At the end of each soul’s quest chain you will be rewarded with an achievement, a title and the soul’s Cape costume, amongst other rewards.

You will need to do the quests in order:

Runic Athenaeum A Rift A Minute Wide 1

Bvaldi is located at the edge of the central platform in the Runic Athenaeum close by to Voradrin. He will offer you a whole bunch of “Hero’s Unrest – [Plane]” lures.

hero's unrest rifts

Simply buy one (or all of them if you want to experience them all). You can also go to Rift Store -> Rifts to purchase the lures. They cost 800 planarite or 15 Credits (13 for Patrons).

– Use the Runic Eye on the Avatar of a Hero’s Unrest Rift.

Runic Athenaeum Runic Eye

Firstly you must summon a Hero’s Unrest Rift by using your Hero’s Unrest Lure when you are close to a Rift Tear.

The Avatar spawns as the final boss in a Hero’s Unrest Rift. Use the Runic Eye quest item before the Avatar dies to complete this objective. You can use the Runic Eye when the Avatar has full hp.

The Runic Eye Quest Item can be used by targetting the Avatar and clicking on the icon in the top-right corner of the “A Rift A Minute Wide” quest tracker. The quest item should also either be in your Quest Log Item slots (open the Quest Log window, default key “L“) or in your inventory if the Quest Log Item slots are full. Simply right-click the item to use it whilst you have the Avatar targeted.

Note:

  • You do not need to be mentored down to complete this quest so any tear counts.
  • Some players seem to have had trouble using the Runic Eye – getting an error. Try leaving your group and solo-ing the quest. Make sure to not use the Runic Eye during the Avatar’s initial 15sec or so damage immunity when it spawns. Also try doing it in Silverwood or at least the Mathosia zone – use the Runic Eye when the Avatar isn’t in combat and has had their 15sec initial dmg immunity buff dropped.

– Defeat the historical abnormality that emerges.

Runic Athenaeum Runic Eye 2

When you use the Runic Eye Quest Item on the Avatar, a new mob will spawn. Kill it to complete this part of the objective. Each Hero’s Unrest Rift has a different historical abnormality.

Note: If you’re a completionist you may wish to abandon and redo the quest so you can see all historical abnormalities – or group up with other players and open different lures.

– Return to Voradrin.

Return to Voradrin in the middle of the Runic Athenaeum to complete this quest.

Reward

Arbiters Cape

6,720XP + 950,000 PA XP + 42g + 2,000 Notoriety with The Runeguard + Arbiter’s Cape + 1,250 Notoriety of your choice from Storm Legion notoriety factions.

You also earn the Achievement: “Hand of Judgment” and receive the suffix title: “The Judge”.

End of Arbiter Soul Quests

Runic eye doesn’t seem to work for me even while following the notes.

    • May 8, 2014 at 5:48 am #

Yea there seems to be some kind of bug with it. Some of my guildmates were having the same issue. Try soloing an Air version of Hero’s Unrest lures in Silverwood and see if that works.

Wait until the 15secs damage immunity buff drops from the Avatar, and then use the Runic Eye on it whilst it is at 100% hp and hasn’t gotten into combat yet.

See if that works. If not, throw up an in-game bug report or see if a GM can help push you past the quest with the in-game GM support ticket function.

and what if i dont have 800 planarite and i dont want to pay glyph???

800 Planarite should be relatively easy to obtain by closing Rifts, killing planar invasions and participating in zone events. You could also ask someone else to buy it for you.

Should that be binding of Crucia? Isn’t it binding of Akylios?

Hmm, I’ll have to take a look at that. Might have changed since the last time I did it.
