If you haven’t been to Ember Isle before, you can go there via a variety of ways:

  • Guardians: Sanctum/Silverwood NPC. [Location]
  • Defiants: Meridian/Freemarch NPC. [Location]
  • Via someone in your guild using a Guild Banner. When the banner is up, you can use a Rally Scroll that you can buy from Rift Store -> Services for platinum to teleport there.
  • Via Friend Summon ability that some players have that can summon you directly.
  • Via Rift Summon abilities gained from Planar Attunement. A friend/guildmate can summon you there if you are in their party/raid.

– Talk to Darius at Ember Watch.

Speak to Darius who is behind Helera. Darius may have some other quests for you if you haven’t done them before. They are part of the Ember Isle quest-chain and not part of the Runic Athenaeum-based quests.

Pick the “I seek the oracles of the Syntyche Sisterhood.” option to continue.

Walkthrough

– Kill Redteeth Goblins in the Scaldwater Fields in Shimmersand 0/13.

Breaking Teeth Image 2

The Redteeth Goblins are located in the Scaldwater Fields in Shimmersand around (6276, 7259). They are Level 60 mobs.

  • The purple stars marked above show some of the spawn locations.
  • They don’t seem to actually spawn in the pools but instead on the outer edges and on the road.
  • Some of the spawn points are slightly off the marked area.
  • If you wait too long they can despawn. They do respawn though.

Note: The Goblins are taking a while to respawn it seems.  From player reports it seems the respawn rate is bugged out and the goblins aren’t respawning in a timely manner in most respawn points.

  • The one marked above in the bottom-left seems to be the only spawn point that respawns a lot (basically respawn almost as soon as the pack dies) so it is your best bet. (at least that was the case on the Laethys shard).
  • If the one marked above doesn’t work – just keep trying the other respawn points until one respawns and camp that one for a bit.
  • You ‘may’ need to run in and out of the area for them to spawn although they have been seen to spawn without doing so.

– Defeat Toothbreak at Fortune’s Shore.

Runic Athenaeum Breaking Teeth 2

Toothbreak is outside Fortune’s Shore at (6523, 6888). When you get near the middle of the quest marker, he will spawn with two adds. Alexia will also spawn to assist you. Level 60 mobs.

Tip: If you run in from the south and stay at range, you may be able to aggro Toothbreak and one add without aggroing the other add.

– Speak with Alexia.

Speak with Syntyche Alexia at (6466, 6923) just a bit West of where you killed Toothbreak to complete this quest.

Reward

6,720XP + 42g + 2,000 Notoriety with The Runeguard

Quest 4: Stairway to Oblivion

Speak with Syntyche Alexia at (6466, 6923) in Shimmersand near Fortune’s Shore to start this quest.

Objectives

– Confront the Traitor within the Syntyche on the Steppes of Infinity.
– Return to Voradrin.
– Return to Syntyche.
– Talk to Voradrin.

Walkthrough

– Confront the Traitor within the Syntyche on the Steppes of Infinity.

Runic Athenaeum Stairway to Oblivion 2

The Traitor is in Steppes of Infinity (Storm Legion Level 60 Zone) in the east-most zone of the Dusken continent at (15844, 6489). The easiest way to get to the marked location is via the Zerzala port. You may think the Vengeful Sky port is closer, but they are located on the plateau above and so you’d have to do a long loop to get to it from Vengeful Sky port.

Once at the location marked on the map, the NPCs will appear and begin to roleplay. There’s a fair bit of it.

Once the Traitor is revealed, kill her.

– Return to Voradrin.

Return to Voradrin in the middle of the Runic Athenaeum in Moonshade Highlands.

– Talk to Syntyche.

Talk to Syntyche in the bottom-left area at the Ground Floor of the Runic Athenaeum.

– Talk to Voradrin.

Return to Voradrin in the middle of the Runic Athenaeum to complete this quest.

Reward

Oracle's Cape

6,720XP + 950,000 PA XP + 42g + 2,000 Notoriety with The Runeguard + Oracle’s Cape + 1,250 Notoriety of your choice from Storm Legion notoriety factions.

You also earn the Achievement: “An End Unforeseen” and receive the suffix title: “The Far-Seer” or “The Far-Seeress”.

End of Oracle Soul Quests

Completing the final quest “Stairway to Oblivion”  concludes the Oracle Soul portion of the Main Soul Quests in the Runic Athenaeum and gives you the achievement “An End Unforeseen”, the suffix title: “The Far-Seer” or “The Far-Seeress” and the Oracle Cape costume.

This concludes the Main Soul Quests that the Runic Athenaeum has to offer.

You can return to the Main Soul Quests page or the Runic Athenaeum Guide for more information about the other quests, Tier 3 raids, Hero’s Unrest Rifts and zone events:

Runic eye doesn’t seem to work for me even while following the notes.

    • May 8, 2014 at 5:48 am #

Yea there seems to be some kind of bug with it. Some of my guildmates were having the same issue. Try soloing an Air version of Hero’s Unrest lures in Silverwood and see if that works.

Wait until the 15secs damage immunity buff drops from the Avatar, and then use the Runic Eye on it whilst it is at 100% hp and hasn’t gotten into combat yet.

See if that works. If not, throw up an in-game bug report or see if a GM can help push you past the quest with the in-game GM support ticket function.

and what if i dont have 800 planarite and i dont want to pay glyph???

    • July 24, 2015 at 6:00 pm #

800 Planarite should be relatively easy to obtain by closing Rifts, killing planar invasions and participating in zone events. You could also ask someone else to buy it for you.

Should that be binding of Crucia? Isn’t it binding of Akylios?

Hmm, I’ll have to take a look at that. Might have changed since the last time I did it.
