RIFT news tidbits for 15th February 2016.

• RIFT 3.5: Winter’s Wrath. Patch Notes and additional information.

General

• Livestream Summary: Multithreading. Trion held a 2nd livestream in a row last Friday with more information about multicore support – including a look at the addon that testers are using. A more open beta testing could come as soon as early March (potentially). Other info includes teasers to upcoming class changes, Patron UI changes and that we’ll get a 3rd RIFT livestream this week (with 3.6 info). Full summary here.

• About ‘Rare’ Minion Adventures. Snedhepl has explained that the new ‘rare’ minion adventures work similar to existing adventures, but that the star rating you get only affects the normal loot it drops. The additional loot it drops is not affected by the star rating. [r]
  • Also, when going on ‘rare’ adventures, one of your minion’s attributes has its stat temporarily increased by +10 for calculating its star rating.
  • 5/15min and 8hr rare minion adventures reward different loot.

• About Future Soul Pack Costs. Archonix has mentioned that the new soul pack coming to 3.6 will only contain the 5 new souls (1 for each calling). This will cost credits in-game, or for real currency on Trion’s website/external retailers.
  • No price has been finalized yet.
  • The pack with the next 4 Primalist souls will be a separate, future pack from the 3.6 soul pack.
  • There is no collector’s edition planned for 3.6. [r]

• Arisen Arak Shadow of C’zyth Exploit. DEV_Anony has announced that the bug for the Shadow of C’zyth add in the Arisen Arak boss fight (final boss of the Mind of Madness) will be fixed with the next hotfix. This will prevent tanks from forcing the add to stop all its mechanics. If you exploit this bug, any kill will be invalidated and loot will be removed, at the very minimum. [r]

• Defense Channel Bug. Right now you might be unable to leave your chat channel’s ‘defense’ channel. SupermanSocks is looking into a fix, but for now your only option is to hide the channel in your chat settings. [r]

• PTS Update. The PTS has been updated with a few changes mentioned previously, as well as some new items:
  • The new Patron UI additions are now on the PTS RIFT Store. [r]
  • The option to fill artifact slots with Credits is now up on the PTS. [r]
  • As Feendish from The Dimension Touring Co. has revealed, the ‘Axis Mundy’ NPC in master mode Dummy Foundry on the PTS now sells a “Dimensioneer Test Box Updated 2/12/2016“, which contains almost 100 dimension items including PTW, ice/glass/water building blocks and all the Scratchers items.
