The Unicornalia Promo Week is a Rift Store Promotions week that occurs every now and then throughout the year. The following is a guide to everything you need to know about this Promo Week.

Note: Promo Weeks are not World Events and are instead Rift Store Promotions.

Summary:

• Opal Unicorn Mount is obtained via 850 Sparkle Essence currency at the PRI Quartermaster.
• Onyx Unicorn Mount is obtained via 850 Sparkle Essence currency at the PRI Quartermaster.
• Limited Edition: Celestial Unicorn Troves give rare chance at the Celestial Unicorn Mount, amongst other things.
• Completing the “Rainbow in the Dark” Achievement gets you a Limited Edition: Sparkle Trove that has a rare chance at the Onyx Unicorn mount.
• Limited Edition: Sparkle Trove is also a rare chance drop from the “Hooves and Horns” zone event in Moonshade Highlands.

Unicornalia Overview

Unicornalia is a Promo Week (Rift Store Promotion) centered around the Unicorn Mounts and the Limited Edition: Sparkle/Unicorn Troves (lockboxes).

New Limited Edition: Celestial Unicorn Troves (lockboxes) are up on the Rift Store for 700 Credits each (630 for Patron) which contains a rare chance at the Celestial Unicorn Mount and other items scaled up to 65 based on your level.

There’s also new daily quests in Sanctum and Meridian and the PRI Quartermaster sells an Opal Unicorn Mount for Sparkle Essences (event currency).

The Unicorn Mounts

Celestial Unicorn Mount

The Celestial Unicorn Mount is a newly added mount with the most recent Unicornalia Promo Week. The mount is an Aurora/Nebula-like mount, but with steel wings and a horn.

It’s a land mount and matches your fastest mount speed.

• You can obtain the Celestial Unicorn Mount as a rare chance drop from the Limited Edition: Celestial Unicorn Trove available for 700 Credits (630 for Patrons) from the RIFT Store -> Chests & Keys during the Unicornalia Promo Week.
• You can also obtain the mount via player trade/Auction House.

The mount applies account-wide.

Opal Unicorn Mount

The Opal Unicorn Mount is available from the PRI Quartermasters [Location: Tempest Bay]. Like the other Promo Week mounts available at the PRI Quartermasters (Budgie, Empyreal Walker), the Opal Unicorn Mount costs 850 ‘Sparkle Essences’ which is the event currency associated with Unicornalia Promo Week.

The Opal Unicorn looks like your typical horse mount except with a Unicorn horn and the added feature of rainbow-colored sparkles that come out of its horn.

The sparkles are animated and will trail behind you as you move.

Sparkle Essences – like other Promo Week currencies, are obtained from doing Unicornalia dailies and from the Limited Edition: Sparkle/Unicorn Troves that will be temporarily available during the one week event. Like other Promo Weeks, this Promo Week will occur several times a year.

The Onyx Unicorn Mount

The Onyx Unicorn Mount is available from the PRI Quartermasters [Location: Tempest Bay], costing 850 ‘Sparkle Essences’ which is the event currency associated with Unicornalia Promo Week.

Unlike the Opal Unicorn Mount which has rainbow sparkles on its head, the Onyx Unicorn Mount has purple sparkles. Again, the sparkles will trail behind as you move around on this mount.

Unicornalia Achievements

There’s two achievements related to the Unicornalia Promo Week, all 0-pt achieves under Achievements (default key “h“) -> Promotions.

Rainbow in the Dark

The “Rainbow in the Dark” achievements requires you to complete all three of the Unicornalia quests obtained from Planar Research Institute NPCs. These NPCs are found in Sanctum and Meridian.

You are rewarded with a Limited Edition: Sparkle Trove that should appear in your in-game mail.  As this is Bound to Account, you could potentially do the dailies on all your alts and send them over to your main.

Note: Since it is attached to an achievement, you can only obtain the reward once per character.

Friendship…

The achievement “Friendship…” requires you to purchase the Opal Unicorn mount from the PRI Quartermasters. You are rewarded with a title: “Is Magic”.

Unicornalia Quests Guide

There’s 3 Quests:

• Friend of Wyredode
• Returning Hope
• Eternally Helpful

Quest Giver

The Quest Givers are the and NPCs. Next to them are NPCs that sell the Black Empyreal Walker, Ashen Budgie, Frosty Budgie and Opal Unicorn Mounts.

You must be at least Level 30 to obtain these quests.

Quest NPC Locations

Sanctum

Sanctum quest NPCs are located inside Sanctum at (7342, 3063) right next to the bridge leading into Sanctum.

Meridian

Quest NPCs location for Meridian is right outside the main courtyard of Meridian in the ‘grassy’ area at (6128, 5224).

The Quests

Friends of Wyredode

Note: If you did this quest in previous Unicornalia Promo Weeks you will not be able to do it again.

Friends of the Wyredode is obtained in Sanctum or Meridian Unicornalia quest hubs. The Unicorn Refugee NPC next to the PRI Quartermaster will provide you with this quest.

Objective: Defeat Ezmodeamus. (you must mentor down as per the full quest text “Ezmodeamus must grant experience to count).

Ezmodeamus is the final boss of the “Hooves and Horns” zone event that spawns in Moonshade Highlands. Kill him whilst you are within an appropriate level range of him to grant experience. To mentor, right-click your portrait and pick Set Ascended Mentor level (this option will appear when you are out of combat and not moving).

You can check what shard the Hooves and Horns zone event is on via one of the Rift Event Trackers.

Reward: You are rewarded with 50x Sparkle Essences. This is a one-time-only quest.

Returning Hope (Daily)

Returning Hope is obtained in Sanctum or Meridian Unicornalia quest hubs. This is a daily. One of the Planar Research Institute NPCs will provide you with this quest.

Objective: Collect a Stolen Alicorn quest item.

You will receive this item when completing the final quest in an IA chain for an Instant Adventure in any zone. Open your Instant Adventure window (default key “.”) and join up, complete a whole variety of quests and the last one should get you the quest item.

Reward: You are rewarded 15x Sparkle Essences.

Eternally Helpful (Daily)

Eternally Helpful is obtained in Sanctum or Meridian Unicornalia quest hubs. This is a daily. One of the Planar Research Institute NPCs will provide you with this quest.

Objective: Use the Sparkle Wand on an enemy player.

Just go into a Warfront, Conquest or the open world, target an enemy player, and then use the Sparkle Wand quest item on them to complete this quest.

Few things to note:

• You need to be fairly close to the enemy player. (~5m)
• Your channel will cancel if they move out of range.
• Your channel can be interrupted.

The easiest way to complete the quest is to duel someone in the open world (right-click their portrait and Request Duel) and channel the ability on them. (Thanks to LunarRai for the information!)

Reward: You are rewarded 15 Sparkle Essences.

Unicornalia Zone Event: Hooves and Horns

The Unicornalia Zone Event: Hooves and Horns spawns in the Moonshade Highlands zone (top-right of the Mathosia, pre-Storm Legion continent; Level 35-40 zone).

A few things to note:

• Completing this zone event gives you a rare chance at a Limited Edition: Sparkle Trove.
• Defeating the final boss, Ezmodeamus whilst mentored down to an appropriate level (approx Level 35-40) will complete the one-off quest, “Friend of Wyredode”.
