Razorback Achievements

The Razorback achievements are found under Achievements -> Promotions tab.

Porkologist

Porkologist Achievement

Complete the three daily quests in Moonshade Highlands to complete “Porkologist” and receive a Limited Edition: Razorback Trove. The Trove is only rewarded once per character.

More information about the daily quests can be found in the next section below.

Boar’s Bane

Boar's Bane Achievement

Boar’s Bane achievement requires that you kill a ‘Wild Truffle Hunter’ and an ‘Enraged Boar’ that grant experience. This means you need to mentor down to around the mobs’ level (around 36-43). Once the achievement is completed, you’ll get the “Baron/Baroness of Bacon” title.

The achievement requires you kill 400 of the Wild Truffle Hunters + 1 Enraged Boar.

Enraged Boar Location

The Enraged Boar looks kind of like the Wild Truffle Hunters, but with a slightly lighter skin. It’s a relatively ‘rare’ spawn. Just run around the areas with Wild Truffle Hunters using a target macro ‘tar Enraged Boar’ and you should eventually find one.

Enraged Boar Location

Enraged Boar Location

One ‘possible’ location is /setwaypoint 5860 2208. Or at least that’s where I found mine.

If you don’t want to disturb players who are after Wild Truffle Hunters for the daily, you should probably head to the west-most area of Boundary Ruins that I’ve circled in the Truffle Hunting (Daily) Map below. There’s a ton of spawns there.

Daily Quests Guide

There’s 3 Daily Quests:

  • Truffle Hunting
  • Protect the Pork
  • Search for Sounders

Each one rewards 10 Succulent Truffle used towards obtaining the PRI Quartermaster version of the Razorback mount.

Quest Givers

Quests are obtained in the south area of Moonshade Highlands in Mathosia. /setwaypoint 6126 2289.

Truffle Hunting (Daily)

Razorback Roundup Truffle Hunting Map

Razorback Roundup Truffle Hunting Map

You pick up the Truffle Hunting daily quest from Hugo Waldemar in Moonshade Highlands at the quest hub at (6126, 2289).

The quest involves capturing a Wild Truffle Hunter (razorback) and to find 3x Hidden Truffles.

  • To capture a Wild Truffle Hunter, use the Boar Lasso quest item when the Wild Truffle Hunter mob is at less than 50% hp.
  • Take your Captured Wild Truffle Hunter to the ‘Find Hidden Truffles’ objective areas in the Faering Woods.
  • When you are near a pile of leaves, the Wild Truffle Hunter will turn it into a clickable Truffle that you can pick up.
  • The pile of leaves tend to appear near trees.
Razorback Roundup Truffle Hunting

Truffle Hunter will turn Pile of Leaves into Truffle when near it.

Note: Since this is a new Promo Week, a lot of players will be doing it for the free lockbox from the promo achieve. This means it might be hard to find Pile of Leaves. The two smaller ‘quest objective’ circles on the map are probably where you’ll find the most Pile of Leaves because the average player will stick around the closest circle to their objective (and a lot of players won’t realize the Pile of Leaves reveals truffles).

Note2: There is a timer on how long your Captured Wild Truffle Hunter will last. If it disappears, you’ll need to capture another one.

Protect the Pork (Daily)

You pick up the Protect the Pork daily quest from Illia in Moonshade Highlands at the quest hub at (6126, 2289).

The quest involves killing 75 Nightmare Rift creatures that grant experience. This means you’ll need to mentor down to the Nightmare Rift’s level.

Nightmare Rifts appear as green eyes on the map. If you don’t see any, try a different zone or summon one via the Nightmare Lures found under RIFT Store -> Rifts -> Nightmare.

Search for Sounders (Daily)

You pick up the Search for Sounders daily quest from Luciam in Moonshade Highlands at the quest hub at (6126, 2289).

The quest involves completing 15 Instant Adventures.

Artifact Sets

Artifact Set: Truffles for the PRI

A new artifact set is available from killing the boars called “Truffles for the PRI”.

Truffles for the PRI

Truffles for the PRI

Artifacts are:

  • Poisonous Truffle
  • Burned Truffle
  • Noxious Truffle
  • Rotten Truffle
  • Perfect Truffle

Artifact Set: Wild Boar Study for the PRI

Another artifact set is the “Wild Boar Study for the PRI”, which contains:

  • Wild Boar Hoof
  • Wild Boar Eye
  • Wild Boar Tusk
  • Wild Boar Pelt
  • Wild Boar Jawbone

Where can I find an Enraged Boar?

    • May 7, 2015 at 7:35 pm #

Where Wild Truffle Hunters are. They seem to be an uncommon spawn. Just have a ‘tar Enraged Boar’ macro and run around the areas. I got mine at /setwaypoint 5860 2208.

Found the Enraged Boar around the area as you have on the map, and it took me around 50 minutes of killing and butchering after every pull for him to finally spawn. Also you must be mentored to get credit for the achieve, saw many doing the achieve too but weren’t mentored and so no credit, 43 is as high as you can go before they all turn grey.

I’ve been at this for over an hour and no spawn 😦 Is there a trick?

    • May 8, 2015 at 7:34 pm #

Don’t think so. It’s just a rare spawn as far as I’ve heard from other players. You could try killing a lot of Hunters and see if it triggers a spawn, but likely the spawn rate is just low. A lot of players are probably trying to find it after all.

how do you get into the the area to do the quests?

    • May 9, 2015 at 4:32 am #

If you’re a Guardian you follow the path on the right-side of Silverwood. If you are Defiant, there’s an NPC or quest at around level 25-30ish that teleports you to Moonshade Highlands. You can also get there from the top-right area of Gloamwood.

Easiest way is probably to ask a guildmate to guild banner you there. When you use a Rally Scroll, it’ll teleport you to the location of the guild banner.

spent most of the Day Saturday roaming from one of the three major pig spawn areas to another and nothing. I found one yesterday pretty easy. And no one in chat saw one either, I kept asking… I hope they up the spawn rate on the boar…

    • May 9, 2015 at 8:29 pm #

Yea, it seems like a very low spawn rate. Guess any changes will have to occur the next time the Promo Week occurs though, unless they decide to change it next hotfix (in which case you have a few hours before the promo week ends).

There is also an artifact set related to boar parts: Wild Boar Study for the PRI. It includes 5 artifacts: Wild Boar Hoof, Wild Boar Eye, Wild Boar Tusk, Wild Boar Pelt, and Wild Boar Jawbone.

In regards to the Enraged Boar, I suspect these have designated spawn locations. I found one on Seastone, but I have slaughtered far more than the achievement calls for (I would guess more than 800) and I never saw one spawn in the areas where I was killing them. The one on Seastone was found by running around spamming a target macro and was near the farm with all of the faeries.

    • May 14, 2015 at 5:43 pm #

Thanks for the info Ryan! And yea, the Enraged Boars likely have set spawn locations just like everything else in the game (i.e. Rifts all have set spawn points), but only one or two are probably up at any one point in time, perhaps with a cooldown as well on their respawn.
