Changes are up on the Public Test Shard (“PTS”) for the Cleric’s Cabalist soul.
Dev Kervik has posted up the first round of changes to the Cabalist soul.
Summary:
- New Buffs: Focused, Condensed and Unbounded Obliteration. Off-GCD, 5sec CD. One is Single Target, another is for up to 5 targets and the final one is for up to 8 targets.
- Various AoEs now affected by the new Obliteration buffs.
- Dominion – Resets CD on all Sigils. Causes next 4 Sigils to have no CD. Lasts 1m with a 1m CD.
- Unleash Oblivion – Now Instant instead of a channel. Based on initial target’s location.
- Well of Souls – Removed CD. Enemies within the AoE now take additional 10% dmg from Cleric’s Cabalist Curses, Disintegration and Bound Fate.
- Shadow Breach – Now grants Stealth for 10 seconds whilst Stationary. Restores 2.5% HP each second – applies regardless of whether you remain in Stealth or not. Resets CD on Dark Passage.
- Curses now stack.
Note: As this is on PTS, everything is subject to change and may be completely different upon Live release.

Additions to the above:
- Curses now stack.
- Bound Fate spreading Tyranny of Death is based on current active Obliteration buff and not what the version of Tyranny of Death is on the target.
- Damage from any version of ToD will cause each ToD debuff to trigger.
- The Obliteration buffs are off-GCD and share a 5-second CD with each other.
Several abilities now have multiple tooltips which you can view in the soul tree, and the abilities’ tooltip will change based on what Obliteration buff you have up.
Also, for the visual-learner-type players out there, here’s what the soul tree looks like:
Tyranny of Death
Tyranny of Death (“ToD)” spreading needs a little bit more clarification.
Bound Fate’s effect on ToD
- Bound Fate spreading Tyranny of Death is based on current active Obliteration buff and not what the version of Tyranny of Death is on the target.
Basically, if you have Focused Obliteration (ST) up and use ToD, but you then switch to Condensed (AoE up to 5) Obliteration, your Bound Fate will spread the Condensed version of ToD (the ones that hit up to 5 players).
Multiple versions of ToD triggering
- Damage from any version of ToD will cause each ToD debuff to trigger.
You can also place Tyranny of Death on multiple targets using the different versions based on the Obliteration buffs. When one of the versions of the Tyranny of Death triggers, all the others will trigger regardless of version.
Multiple versions of ToD on a single target
It seems this also works to allow you to have multiple versions of ToD on a single target.
You cannot place different versions of Tyranny of Death directly on a single target. You’ll simply get a “Tyranny of Death already active” warning.
However, you seem to be able to spread multiple ToDs onto a single target. The way it seems to work is to have Focused Obliteration up -> Cast Tyranny of Death -> Switch to Condensed Obliteration or Unbounded Obliteration -> Cast Tyranny of Death on a different target close to the original target -> Cast Bound Fate.
This should give the original target both a Single-Target version of Tyranny of Death and an AoE version of Tyranny of Death at the same time.
This may be unintended.
Dominion
The new Dominion ability resets the cooldown on all Sigils and causes the next 4 Sigils used to have no CD. It does not affect Sigil of Catastrophe. Lasts 1min, with a 1min CD – off-GCD.
Resetting the cooldown on all Sigils except Catastrophe is as it mentions. It means that any cooldown on any of the Sigils is reset so that you can use the Sigils again.
For the “causes the next 4 Sigils used to have no CD”, it does not mean you can spam the CDs without a global cool-down. It means that when you use them, they do not end up being on cool-down. So you can use them right away again.
This is useless as a spam when targeting a small group of players due to Crowd-Control Immunity timers. However, it does become useful if your opponents are spread out all over the place in smaller groups – or in a PvE setting (should one ever exist where you would feel compelled to chain CC).
It is also useful if you choose not to spam CCs because the buff lasts 1min and has a cool-down of 1min; effectively allowing you use CCs one at a time throughout the 1min period – just make sure to wait for CC Immunity timers to drop before re-applying each one.
Of course, you still have Sigil of Catastrophe that applies all Sigils to up to 10 enemies so this new ability gives Cabalists quite a buff in the AoE CC category.
Curse Stacking + Instants
Both Curse of Solitude and Curse of Anarchy are finally able to stack. Along with the Well of Souls damage boost, Dark Manifesto Damage Boost and instant Unleash Oblivion, there’s quite a few good quality-of-life changes and a definite dps boost.
There is an issue currently however where everything that is affected by Obliteration buffs are causing some weird ability lag issues where abilities end up graying out for a second after every key press.
Shadow Breach
Finally a stealth for Clerics! Plus it has a non-damage-required heal; AND resets Dark Passage? Fantastic!
The Stealth portion of the ability only works if you stand still and don’t use any abilities.
The Healing portion of the ability works regardless of whether you are in stealth or not.
As always, since this is on the PTS, everything is subject to change!
Awsome works you are new dataminer of rift! spam /follow!
