RIFT news tidbits for 10th December 2014. Check out all the info below:

General

• Fae Yule World Event. The Fae Yule World Event begins on Thursday 11th December 2014 at 3:30PM Server Time. You can check out an updated 2014 guide here which should cover most of the event. I’ll update with a new 2014 version of the guide when the world event actually hits Live.
  • New Items. RIFT Store (default key “]“) -> World Event has new items for Fae Yule as well as older items from previous years.
  • Faelight Sparkle Weekly. Get this quest asap so you don’t waste your Warfront/Expert charges. Possible raid loot? Check out this article here for all the information you need on this special weekly quest.
  • Animated Holiday Portrait Bug. If you buy the Fae Yule Minion Adventure Pack, there’s currently a bug where you might not get the Animated Holiday Portrait that is included in the pack. This will be fixed with RIFT 3.0 Hotfix #10 and anyone who purchases this pack will be given the portrait retroactively. [r]
  • Fae Yule Loot Bonus. Last boss of Experts gives Fae Yule Loot Bonus. It says ‘Requires Level 60’ and has a cooldown timer before you can open them so it may or may not give Level 60 gear instead of 65. Unconfirmed.

• 2014 Fae Yule Minion Adventure Pack Info. Just a few things to note about the pack:
  • The Festive Winter Sweater that you get in the Pack is different from the Corgi Fur Sweater.
    
  • The Fae Yule Portraits are also different. The one you get in a Pack has gift boxes whilst the individually-bought portrait is a holy wreath. (Thanks for Chickie@Laethys for the info!)
  • The Pack unlocks special Minion adventures. The first is a 1min adventure. The other ‘missions’ are in 1min, 5min, 15min and 8hr adventures. [r] There’s approximately 17 of these adventures that give you a chance at the remaining 5 minions that are part of the Pack (you only get the first 2 on purchase).
  • Once you complete all 17 adventures, it unlocks an 18th adventure. This is a 1min adventure that – when completed – rewards a small amount of Fae Yule currency. [r]
  • The Pack’s Minion adventures are separate from the special 10hr promotional Fae Yule adventures. The 10hr promo ones don’t require the Pack to unlock. [r] The 10hr promo events give Fae Yule currency. Apparently any box rewards are broken and have been disabled. No ETA or info on if they’ll bring them back up. [r]

• RIFT 3.0 Hotfix #9. Today’s hotfix adds Fae Yule RIFT Store items; Nightmare Rift and IA improvements; Expert Dungeon nerfs; Conquest back up; PvP changes to healing and dodge; Patron Weekly Cap increase and more! Check out the patch notes and summary here.
• NA shards are getting another hotfix (#10) at 6:30AM PST on 11th Dec 2014. EU will probably get #10 with #9. [r]

• Minions Info:
  • Crafting Mat Nerf. Crafting materials gained via Minions have been reduced. However, the current reduction is more than what was intended and a fix will go in “soon”. [r]
  • Artifact Reward Bug. With the latest hotfix, when you get Attainium Crystals from an Artifact adventure, sometimes you won’t get artifacts. This is being fixed. [r]
  • Minion Card Database. The database has been updated with the two starter Fae Yule Minion Cards: Nightbringer (Death/Assassination) and Rudy (Hunting/Artifact). Anyone have any of the other 5? You can check out the database with 147 minions here.

• Crafting Additions. Morticus has mentioned that he is “very much on board” with adding new fluff recipes such as possible craftable wardrobe bundles. Still being discussed internally though. [r]

• Underwater Mount Training. You can now buy Underwater Mount Training under RIFT Store -> Services. These are per mount and are only useable on mounts listed in its tooltip. [r] Daglar has stated that Trion hopes to have all mounts Amphibious in the future, but it requires a lot of work since each mount needs to be given additional swimming animations. [r]

• Tips & Tricks – Crafting UI & Bag Search. Gingers has posted a very useful list of search terms you can use to quickly bring up items you want in the Crafting UI as well as your inventory. Check it out here!
