RIFT Live Datamining for 24th June 2015

LIVE Datamining for 24th June 2015 Feature Image

Below you can find interesting datamined files from the Live client for RIFT 3.2: Hotfix #13 patch that was released on 24th June 2015. Small datamining, but still some interesting additions.

Summary:

  • Datamined Icons. Fire + Life-based Lifter mounts. Warbeast mount. Puzzle books.

As always, everything below is subject to change and even though these were datamined from the Live client, they might end up not appearing (or appearing months later). A lot of the stuff below is pure speculation based on files found and thus might be completely wrong.

Datamined Icons

A few icons popped up in the latest hotfix patch.

First up there’s icons that likely relate to new warfront announcers and the upcoming planar fishing poles for 3.3. These were also datamined in the latest PTS Update on the 22nd June 2015.

And now onto the new icons that haven’t been seen before:

Datamined Icons LIVE 24th June 2015

1st Row

Fire Lifter Mount

First icon is likely the fire-based Lifter mount. A skin can be found below:

Fire Rider Mount Skin

Fire Rider Mount Skin

Most Lifter mount skins are split between top and bottom either vertically in the middle or diagonally. This particular skin looks like it’s split horizontally with the top-half being the top of the mount and the bottom-half, the bottom.

This will probably appear during a future Arclight Infiltration Promo Week.

Warbeast Mount

The second icon is clearly the ‘Warbeast’ mount. This name is speculation based on a model’s filename “mount/yarnosaur/rig/warbeast_armored.ma” datamined previously. This isn’t the Razorback mount.

The below skin was datamined on the PTS back in May:

Clearly if you look at the head in the top-left corner of the skin, it matches with the icon. The round ‘holes’ in the skin are where the horns/spiky protrusions would be placed:

Warbeast Icon vs Skin

Enhance!

The icon actually reveals a bit more about what this mount looks like.

  • It’s eyes are actually that small.
  • The ‘white’ stuff on its middle horn and tusks are likely blades. Probably the white/silver ‘blade’ you see in the bottom-left corner of the skin.
  • The little red and white stuff surrounded by black above the mount’s head in the skin is actually decorations at the very top of the mount’s head.

It uses the Yarnosaur rig so its animations are likely the same as the Yarnosaur’s.

When will it pop up? Besides the purple armor color scheme (which reminds me of Storm Legion), it feels like something meant for Bahmi’s, and thus Planetouched Wilds. That said, it could always pop up earlier than that.

Life Lifter Mount

3rd icon in the 1st row clearly looks to be a Life-based Lifter mount.

This is most likely the below skin:

Green Summerfest Thing Skin

Interestingly there doesn’t seem to be any orange on the icon. My guess is that the middle circle is the bottom of the skin and the top-left section (minus the orange parts) would be the top half of the mount copied over 4 times to form the circle.

Like the Fire Lifter Mount, this will probably arrive with a future Arclight Infiltration Promo Week.

Interestingly, this would have been appropriate for Summerfest. Could this mount pop up as a limited time sale on Live during the final week of Summerfest? (i.e. starting 3:30PM Server Time on Thursday, 25th June 2015)?

Intrepid Speculation

Just some speculation – might be completely off the mark. The remaining Lifter mount skins that we have seen would be the Fire, Life and Earth Lifter mounts.

Now, hear me out. Intrepid: Gilded Prophecy is coming out in 3.3 and my guess is that the Conqueror achieve mount will be the Earth Lifter mount. The Water Lifter mount (Abyssal Lifter) is the Conqueror achieve for Hammerknell Fortress.

Could Trion be planning an Intrepid: Rise of the Phoenix and Intrepid: Primeval Feast? That would fill out all Level 50 10-man raids (since we already have an Intrepid: Drowned Halls). And what do you know:

  • The Fire Lifter mount could be the Conqueror reward for Intrepid: Rise of the Phoenix.
  • The Life Lifter mount could be the Conqueror reward for Intrepid: Primeval Feast.

Of course, this is all pure speculation. These two new Lifter mount icons could just pop up in the next few Arclight Infiltration Promo Weeks just like the Necrotic (Death) Lifter mount did.

2nd Row

2nd row of icons are a whole bunch of puzzle pieces on the cover of books, and a completed set.

Puzzle Books?

It’s interesting to see that these are all books (besides the first icon). Storm Legion puzzles had us collecting puzzle items that we could combine with Pages that were rewarded from the puzzle’s artifact set in order to purchase a puzzle Book that granted us access to the puzzle in question. A long-winded process.

Could this mean that these new puzzle book icons relate to several new puzzles? Perhaps you need to complete 5 separate puzzles in order to be able to get the ‘completed puzzle’ book that grants another puzzle?

Or maybe it’s one puzzle and the books are just part of that single puzzle.

The Puzzle Slider?

The first icon seems to be the reward. Is it a painting for dimensions?

Completed Puzzle Icon

Looking closely at the icon, it looks like the object’s edges aren’t straight, but ‘curved’.

Complete Puzzle Icon Enhanced

Enhance!

Do you know what else is slightly curved along the edges? That’s right, DEV_Pithos’ “The Slider” mount!

This is a dev-only mount not accessible to players that you’ll see Pithos riding on whenever you’re able to catch him in-game.

Could this new puzzle’s reward be a tetris/jigsaw-based ‘Puzzle Slider’ mount? Pure speculation of course and it could just be a painting dimension item.

More Lifter mounts and a new Warbeast mount to look forward to, Warfront Announcers from some of our favorite Plane of Water characters and planar fishing poles! Possible new puzzle/s. ETA unknown other than for the fishing poles, which are for 3.3 slated next month.
